WORKS FOR ME
IT does slow your computer down a little, but I would rather have that then have a software not catch it. I am very happy with Webroot's products. I also have used Window Washer for over 10 years.I have tested Lava-Soft SE, Norton,& Zone Alarms anti-spy programs. Seems they all catch something the other ones missed. But Spy sweeper has caught the most serious ones.

Two Problems
My OS is Windows XP Pro SP2.
Terrible
I have been using Spysweeper for years and liked it.No more.I have a older machine that runs well.Until I put 5.0 on it.This is a case of the cure being worse than the disease!ONLY consider this if you are running over a gig of memory at above 2 GHz.Probably need a dual core and a huge L2 cache with RAID 0 twin hard drives, too.Even then, once you up-grade to VISTA (Spring '07 (?!)) forget about it!SO if you spent $2000+ on a box this spring or $1500+ on a box this summer you might want to consider this POC. (Be sure to ask Webroot about VISTA compatibility).

Absolutely the END!!...What a piece of CRAP!!
I too must echo the end of my patience with Symantec / Norton. My computer was running just fine with Systemworks 2005 and Internet Security 2005 (although as I recall there were installation issues with these as well). Now I get a notice that my subscription is almost up, and would I like to upgrade (and I use the term loosely!). Ok..I pony up about $59 to upgrade to 2006...let the nightmare begin...

Do not install this on your computer.Your pc will be bloated with slow and over complex software. After uninstalling the System Works suite in XP the system rebooted and Norton GoBack starts to uninstall. Upgraded and happy
Outlook 2003 was a huge difference from my previous version.It is very user friendly if you just install and get going.I purchased an Outlook book to help me get going, and it was great.

10 + year user
I have used Turbo Tax for as long as I can remember.I have always purchased their business and their personal tax products.Generally I had been satisfied. However this year after spending much time over many months working on a complicated return, Turbo tax dumped all the data including that which was saved many times over several months. It corrupted all but 2kb of data and can't even open that. Of course you can't get a person via telephone or email.

Some good points, some bad.
I installed PDF Converter Pro 4 and was generally pleased with its performance enabling me to edit PDF documents.The big problem I have with it; however, is that in normal Internet browsing, when I click on a PDF document, more often than not, the document does not come up on the first try.It freezes my browser (Internet Explorer) and I have to go to Task Manager to shut it down.Repeated attempts at opening the document have to be made, but eventually the document opens. Because of that, I uninstalled PDF Converter.On the occasions that I will want to edit a PDF document, I will reinstall it, do what I want and uninstall it again. It is quick to install and uninstall, and since I don't do a lot of editing of PDF files, it will do what I want from it.As a previous review stated, tech support is very expensive; however, customer support is free and they are responsive.

Money is better than Quicken
I've been using either quicken or money since the late 80's.I started out with Quicken, but then one day my computer hard drive crashed.I thought I would be OK, since I always backed up my quicken to alternating floppies; however, Quicken could not recover my files from the floppy backups.I switched to MS Money in '95 and NEVER LOOKED BACK.I have been using MS 2006 for several months (it was preinstalled on my Compaq laptop) and find only one annoyance; they seem to be keen on you putting your Money data on the web.Sorry, I don't trust MS security that much, but I do like MS Money 2006.I hear there are not enough improvements in the 2007 version to justify an upgrade.Also, if you have 2005, no real need to go to 2006 either.I did trial a copy of Quicken last year just to see if they'd caught up with Money, but I was not impressed enough to switch.

Bugged and disgusted
I have two computers, and this program runs on neither one! You must have an internet connection or the program cannot run - despite what it says on the package about "internet functionality".
Gets the job done
Had been using MS Money 2002 up to this point and really loved it.Circumstances forced me to upgrade my Compaq laptop with this version.Although I'm not a big fan of this version, it does get the job done.The the program files loaded off the CD-ROM with no problems and I suffered no hang-ups, stalls, or anything else when loading and installing.Insofar as the program itself is concern, MS Money 2002 is better, but this version will do.It's a sign of the times. ... Mac Office Update 2004
I finally made the decision to update and it is easy to install and use the new features. I still wish Microsoft would include Publisher in their package for the Mac like it does for Windows....Maybe their next version will (hope - hint).

Microsoft--Square Corners and All
Typical Microsoft product with inherent viscosity of use (as compared to Apple products) but a solid suite of very useful software.I use the apps in both worlds(Windows and Apple) with no significant problems.This is my third upgrade and they do work better with each iteration.

Office 2004 for Mac is a nice improvement
Ibought the Office 2004 upgrade, finally, because certain minor misfits of Office X with current versions of Mac OS X became too annoying. It is an improvement. Those annoying crashes and refusals to bring the desired window to the front disappeared. It has a few nice formatting improvements, such as Page view in Excel. Powerpoint seems a little more refined. I thought that I'd like Word's notebook view, because I used the stand-alone product on Windows. Best database software on market - but upgrading is a bummer
FileMaker Pro [FMP] is without a doubt the best and easiest database software for home or small business users -- far easier to learn and use than Microsoft Access, and great flexibility. Constructing a relational database (tying together, for instance, client names, invoices, expenses, etc) is a snap and the Help files really are helpful. Lack of a printed manual [rather than just a scanned file] is a downer.
I can now manage the Web...
When I heard that you could actually insert a Web brower such as IE or Safari right into a database, I was a little skeptical. But after downloading the FileMaker Pro 8.5 free trial and actually doing it, it blew my mind and I purchased the software. I tried doing adding a Web browser to my Access database but I gave up after days of struggling away with a bunch of Active X controls, etc. Now, I just simply add a URL to a the details of a record and I've got updated info on the customers I track in my Marketing Research practice. I can also add just about anything to my database records, video clips, digital photos, sound files and I can send off records to my clients in PDFs or in Excel right out of FileMaker. Very cool! ... Be aware of what you're buying
I love adventure games.Nancy Drew is the best.It would be nice if there was a warning about ouija boards or other supernatural garbage being part of game play.I don't use them in real life, let alone in a game.

I've played all of the nancy drews and sherlock holmes games but this one is truly scary! I was playing it by myself in the daytime in a room with 6 windows and was still petrified. You get a message from your brother that is researching ghosts at and abandoned train motel that was abandoned and claimed to be haunted ever since 7 guests mysteriously vanished. It has an extremely large setting with 4 floors, a kitchen, a bar, a dining room, and the train tracks, and the whole outdoors too. Plus, there is a train station. You can go in about 96% of the rooms and on one floor, the lights start going out one by one, on another, you hear a violin playing, and in one of the 7 guests' rooms, a ghostly voice starts talking to you!!!! SCARY!!! When you get there, you hear the voice of a young boy, but you can't see him!!! And, you can't find your brother. One of the ghostly voices talks about and evil that has taken over the dark and deadly train station. This is a must-have. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!

Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware is the best available
Kaspersky is full function, easy to use, and does not over burden my desktop.I like the ability to set it for hourly updates which are typically 40-60kb and my computer doesn't even blink when the update happens. I appreciate the full protection and ease of use and it is well worth the money. [...]

So Easy
Kaspersky was so easy to install and get up and running I could not belive it. The hourly updates are great! The update files are so small you don't notice that it's happening. After I installed and ran Kaspersky it found viruses and spyware that AGV and Adaware let through. You can't go wrong.

Curse of the Anti-Virus Software Writers
What is it with the folks who write this kind of software? It must be reeeaally hard to do, because no one seems to get it completely right, including Kaspersky.

poor installation & update, odd assumptions, but easy to use
i've used taxcut for about 4 years now.i read the bad about the 2005 edition in the reviews, but i'd rather buy taxcut again than enter last year's data (i think they're counting on this!).
Lawsuit waiting to happen
Filed my taxes in February with TaxCut Deluxe. Just got my state tax return sent back to me saying that I had failed to fill out large chunks of my tax return.When I examined what TaxCut had filled out, it left out complete columns.When I started to do the tax return by hand, it became clear that TaxCut failed not only fill things out, but also filled out parts of the form incorrectly.It got the standard deduction wrong (to the tune of 2 grand).
Form 8801
After four straight years of using TaxCut, I believe I'll use TurboTax next year.As others pointed out, after TaxCut indicated no further errors nor warnings, the return got rejected by the IRS because, in Form 8801, the program did not subtract line 38 from line 37 and put the results in line 40.I won't be able to e-file because of this basic mistake in TaxCut's compliance with how the form should be filled out according to the IRS. ... Very confusing!
I used to type brochures using Microsoft Word. It was a hassle, so I decided to try Publisher 2003. After several hours simply trying to get a specific yet simple template set up, I gave up in frustation. Most disappointing!

Good Software - Very Poor Loading Instructions
This is about our 5th version of Office and we have also gone through at least 3-4 versions of several other Microsoft programs. Like most Microsoft packages, we are very pleased with the functionality of each of the software programs and find each new version more powerful and easier to use and manuever through than the last.
Simplfied Form of Review
5 simple words: Great Product, but TOO expensive. It is very hard for all people to pay $300+ on this product. I would recommend it though if you could afford it.

Seriously disappointed no Support for WM5 PPC
After getting my clients and myself over to Microsoft Money with them on the way to upgrade to SBA since "Microsoft products play well" microsoft pulls stupid yes stupid things like this. This was a record year increase in sales of PPC. Who at Microsoft don't get it? If you release WM5 you would expect any product 2005 on would work on it! When I saw 2007 was out I was happy to be able to go to my clients and say here the wait is over we can go ahead and move up.... But no. Sad. Sorry MS not getting your money and your not getting ours this time. Someone screwed up.

Switching to Quicken
I've been using MS Money for 5 or 6 years now, with only minor issues.Prior to that I used Quicken, but when I got a Pocket PC I wanted to be able to enter transactions on the PPC, and the only handheld version of Quicken at the time was for Palm OS.So I switched to Money, and have been generally happy.
They refuse to listen to customer requests.
It works okay for me.For three years, I (and a lot of people) have been asking for the capability to simply show customer payments on the invoices.They havn't listend even though they've acknowledged the probelm.I'm giving Quicken a shot for 2007. ... Read more

Decent Upgrade
For the home use for which I acquired this product, the upgrade is decent.I don't use most of it's functionality, but what I do use is very nice.

Worthwhile purchase
I needed upgrades for my Microsoft Office and this really did the trick.I enjoy using Outlook 2003 much more than the older version I had for several years.Most of the other parts of the package are fairly similar, although there are several features of Word that are a bit annoying to me.Otherwise I would give it an excellent rating.

STOP!Seriously Consider Star Office 8 Instead!
Before you donate your hard-earned money yet again to Bill Gates' 'Feed the Multi-Billionaire Fund', do yourself and the world a favor and search for 'Star Office 8' on Amazon and read the reviews there.
