Great app getting even better
Intuit is really adding some helpful features in this version for Mac. Nearly every form is customizable with a built in design tool. The tutorials are very acute. The printing of deposit slips is very helpful and saves time.

Intuit does it again
I have been using and beta testing Intuit products for years. Recently I was given an opportunity to test Intuit's latest version of Quickbooks, the2007 edition. I believe the product offers a very comprehensive financial software package that will cover the needs for what I believe to be most small businesses (with their Premier and Eclipse products handing the rest). I like the (customizable) invoices I can make with this program and the close integration with the financial data...a change is carried over to the other.The optional Payroll service allows you to manage payroll in-house (with various levels of services). When a company I consult for wanted to upgrade their payroll software and their over-priced payroll service company wanted $250 for a minor version upgrade I recommdend Intuit's solution and have not regretted it (neither did my client company; they save hundreds of dollars a month). I was also able to recover corrupted data stored in much older version of Quickbooks by using this software (this is not a feature it was meant to do, the upgrade procedure just did it for me). From time to time, I do find features I want in every program and that includes Intuits, but I do appreciate the fact that they listen... I was pleased to see improvements and feature enhancements this year as well.

Still the best software for regular folks
I've been using QuickBooks since it was first published and have even helped Intuit with the software beta testing process to help provide suggestions and find bugs before the software is released to the general public. I am most definitely NOT an accountant and QuickBooks is the best software I have ever used to handle the books. It has saved me so much time over the years I can't even begin to estimate how much. Everything is organized like a business owner would, not by accouting terms that can be very confusing to those of us outside of that world. It can also handle just about any type of business. The integration with TurboTax is nice as well, I can do my business taxes (federal and state) in less than an hour total.

UPgrade to Quick Books 2007PRO from 2004
As a member of the BETA testing group for this new product, I found all the features that I was used to in the 2004 version PLUS new improvements in layout and easy of moving around the accounting world.Internet automatic features truely make this product a must for busy professionals.I am able to easily work within two companies, at three different locations and be assured that the files are up to date by using the back up system within the program.

It just keeps getting better with each release!
I have been using QuickBooks since Version 5.0 for my business and started beta testing the product in 2002.It has come a long way over the last 12 years and this latest product is the best one yet.Being able to point the software to be specific to your industry takes a lot of the guess work out for a new user in setting up your accounts.It is very user friendly and adaptable to any business.If you are considering a financial software for your business, look no further.This is the one!

Quickbooks for everyone.
I have been using Quickbooks for 15 years and can tell you that they have come a long way with many improvments over the years.I have helped many people with both business and personal record keeping get started with Quickbooks and have not hardly found one who did not say that they didn't realise how easy bookwork could be until they tried these products.

Never loaded it due to the negative comments here.
I just hate the way MS offers a viable alternative that does not cut the mustard out of the starting gate.No wonder Gates has billions.He keeps the money for himself rather then plowing back into key launches of product with a perfect track record out the gate.
Warning - This product comes with daily ads
The "feature" that makes me sorry I bought Microsoft SBA is the "Spotlight" -- a bulleted list of text ads that appear on every major screen, and that download new content on every one of those screens, every time you open the program. These text versions of pop-ups slow the application even more than its already-glacial pace (it's a bigger memory hog than Photoshop or Dreamweaver).You have the option to remove this "content", but on only one of the five screens where it appears. It is beyond annoying -- it's as if you brought a box of cereal, and were forced to listen to a commercial every time you wanted to eat some of it.
Ambivalent feelings
I brought this accounting software to use for basic tasks in my business. The general look appears to be similar to quickbooks. I am used to Peachtree, yet I had no difficulty with the basic navigation.

How could they release this crap!!
I have been a gnucash user since 2002, but needed a windows solution (also, gnucash 1.8 reporting sucks).So I bought Quicken 2006 from Costco last year, but it sat on the shelf for quite some time as the porting from gnucash isn't trivial [...].By the time I had all the ducks lined up, Quicken 2007 came out and, I feel like such an idiot now, I bought the upgrade.I figured I might as well jump to the latest version.
Does not covert Money files
With quite disappointment, I found that Quicken 2007 does not convert Money files even if its sales material says so.In the Quicken support forums, Quicken Steve writes, "The Money data converter will not be updated for Quicken 2007. The decision was made to allocate engineering resources to issues that affect people that are new to personal finance software and people upgrading from prior versions of Quicken instead of people switching from one software package to another."
Ouch
I'm the last one to recommend a Micosoft product, but if you're looking for a good finance managing application, don't look here. Go back to money 2007.

So how long before the patches are released to address bugs?
OK, so I bought 2006 back in July, because I'd previously been at 2003, and needed to upgrade so that I could take advantage of the online banking and account download, which was going obsolete with 2003 (Grrr.)
Don't upgrade to this product.
I purchased and installed the new version of Quicken Home & Business.The first thing I noticed was that some software design genius decided that it would be a good idea to put black text on a dark background in the account bar.Also when the balance amounts are checked to not show in the total they a light grey color and become almost invisible.I searched everywhere for a place to change the color and after contacting Intuit I found out that you can't change it.
Don't buy!
We wish we could give this junk a zero star...

Seriously disappointed no Support for WM5 PPC
After getting my clients and myself over to Microsoft Money with them on the way to upgrade to SBA since "Microsoft products play well" microsoft pulls stupid yes stupid things like this. This was a record year increase in sales of PPC. Who at Microsoft don't get it? If you release WM5 you would expect any product 2005 on would work on it! When I saw 2007 was out I was happy to be able to go to my clients and say here the wait is over we can go ahead and move up.... But no. Sad. Sorry MS not getting your money and your not getting ours this time. Someone screwed up.

Switching to Quicken
I've been using MS Money for 5 or 6 years now, with only minor issues.Prior to that I used Quicken, but when I got a Pocket PC I wanted to be able to enter transactions on the PPC, and the only handheld version of Quicken at the time was for Palm OS.So I switched to Money, and have been generally happy.
They refuse to listen to customer requests.
It works okay for me.For three years, I (and a lot of people) have been asking for the capability to simply show customer payments on the invoices.They havn't listend even though they've acknowledged the probelm.I'm giving Quicken a shot for 2007. ... Read more

Should have upgraded sooner!
This was a long overdue upgrade from 2003 version. Should have upgraded sooner. This release fixes all those little annoying extra steps you used to have to take to get lists and reports. Much quicker and easier to use on daily AR/AP. I haven't had time yet to delve deeper for further review. So far - two thumbs up .

minor updates for the $$
I still don't understand why Intuit justifies charging a ridiculous amount for minor updates to their program - and then you still have no support!Even the upgrade cost is outrageous for what you get.I've been using Quickbooks for 10 years now and only stay with them because the better programs are way out of reach and moving my data would take great amounts of time and energy.Will they ever listen to their customers and their needs?

Wait till they get the bugs out
Purchased this version to upgrade from 04 Simple install did not work,had to uninstall,thats where the problems started. Somehow it locked up my system. Was not able to reboot at all, could not start up in safe mode, could not use system restore or use last good configuration. called Intuit Thur PM was told by a tech I was not alone, there were quite a few others with the same problem. I was told my situation was placed on high prioroty and should be resolved in a few hours, they would call me with the solution well after 10 more phone calls and no help at all my only solution was to reformat and reinstall my operating system . Files lostand much time wasted.
