Not very impressed with Simply Accounting Basic
I was hoping I'd like this more than the corporate bookkeeping system I currently use.We have an acccountant, but like to keep track of the day to day books and cash flow.I was hoping this would be a little easier on us (two of us handle bookkeeping and neither of us have a background in finance or accounting).
A great piece of software at a great price!
I' would like to start by saying that I made the mistake of buying Microsoft's Small Business Accounting 2006 first.I got sucked in because Microsoft offered a rebate that made it about the same price as Simply Accounting.I thought, "What a bargain!"

Solid Worth
I had used an old copy of VersaCheck that I had bought in the late 90's-- hey it worked-- until I had to do a reinstall after my hard drive croaked and found that I no longer had the registration number. Having found the VersaCheck user interface a bit clunky, I decided to look for alteratives and settled on this.

Checksoft 2005 Personal Deluxe
This is a great program for creating and writing your own checks from multiple accounts using inexpensive blank or light background paper. It is far superior to other similar programs I have tried.

There are a lot of applications of the web that claim to do this and almost all don't work and are truly bush league. This one works well and will keep you check book in balance. Prints especially good on a laser printer. Save a bundle and the hassle of going through your bank. It will pay for this price by eliminating your next check order, and then save hundreds over time. Many formats to choose from and will even print a supply of blank checks, and deposit slips. Checksoft 2005 Home & Business
The program was okay for my purposes except it is not possible to split catagories, so I purchased Quicken Deluxe 2005 to use with the check writing feature. Quicken did an update soon afterward. Checksoft was no longer compatible and I could not print the checks. My emails received no response. I am not about to purchase new versions of Checksoft every time Quicken updates. I have resorted to using Checksoft's program for printing a check and then registering again in Quicken. It is a hassle and a time-eater!!

Total disaster
If this is anything like Check Designer, stay away.My experience was that the program is incompatible with Quicken's updates, and needs a new patch every time Quicken revises . . .until the latest Quicken update, to which Check Designer is permanently incompatible with.Their tech support responded only by emails and only on a 24-hour turnaround (so don't be in a hurry to fix bugs), then they send you one goose chase after another, but none makes it work.And then they refuse to t refund the price because it's after a mere 30 days from purchase. . .but we've been emailing for 30 days alone.That's my last purchse from Avanquest. ... Rotten software, worse support
There's bad software, awful software, and "aw just stick a fork in me" rotten software."Mycheck Writer..." by Elibrium falls under the third category. NOT RECOMMENDED It worked okay then.........
Was working fine with my HP laser and XP, simple record keeping. Then the darn thing started printing checks from 2 months ago instead of the one I wanted to print. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM TO ANYONE. I had to go back and make sure the right check numbers were with the right checks because it was also changing check numbers on me. Tech supoort for $24.95, + per minute fees. Now that takes guts especially on a product that is only 3 months old. Shop around, trust me.

Don't try to use this product with a 300 dpi laser printer..
It won't support lasers less than 600 dpi. No were is this disclosed. Didn't find out until I purchased an $80 MICR toner for my printer. Wow! I could have bought 6 boxs of check for the price of the MICR toner alone. Waste of money! ... Read more
