5-0 out of 5 stars So far so good...
I have this software for about 4 months now and have no quams with it.You can set which programs can access the net without issues or you can set strict limitations such that the program (1) either has to ask permission to enter the net or (2) can not access the net at all. This is great considering that one my pc's has spyware that can not be removed.Annoying popups don't occur anymore as a result of restricting access of these spywares programs from going online.I'm also using Windows XP and find no compatibility issues when using ZAW Security, which another big plus. All in all a good program, especially for the price I got it for (19.99) ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Worst installation ever
I bought this software to use for dictating research notes and transcribing them.I have had the worst experience installing this very expensive technology onto my laptop, with repeated error messages about my sound card, and nowhere to turn for technical support.I would definitely not recommend this product, and hope I can get a full refund. It has been a very disappointing experience.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Alternative
I bought this software not knowing what to expect.I read a lot of online reviews of the software and good thing I did not listen to most of them. Most people stated that the hand held recorder did not work, but after putting everything aside and reading the literature, I got it to work perfectly. The disk is so small that I thought it wouldn't fit into my disk drive, but it did! Some of the words that I say, it doesn't understand, but if I keep my head level and speak clearly it works fine. It doesn't want me to raise my head or lower my head, I guess it sounds like mumbling.Overall, I would recommend this software.I noticed also, that a lot of people don't know the difference between the professional and the prefered. The professional has all three versions, legal, medical and something else that escapes me right now.I purchased the prefered and I am satisfied with my purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars STUDENT PRODUCT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!
I bought this product as a student who needed to EXCEL in school! This product helped me like no other! It is amazing!I have a small problem with the recorder being slightly below what I wanted but the product proved it's worth OVER AND OVER AGAIN!I was able to record lectures and have my computer do all the translation! What an amazing product! It helped me in ways that I cannot explain!I looked on Scansoft's website WWW.SCANSOFT.COM and upgrade to a compatible recorder that was much higher quality. This product is defintely worth the $200 I spent on it. The recorder is great for the first couple classes! It got me thru some serious lectures that I was able to download to my Mp3 and listen to while I worked out!Saves me more time than any other software program out there! Yeah, there is gliches in the verbage, but if you listen to you class AT ALL - you will be impressed with the mobility, the ease and the free use of this product!Highly recommend for STUDENTS in need of some extra time! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother with PCAnywhere
I'm not going to lie, PC Anywhere is certainly a good program, but you should know there are other programs out there. They will also provide you with remote access that is just as secure and feature-rich as PC Anywhere. The one I recommend is LogMeIn, because it not only is fast and secure, but it's also free.

4-0 out of 5 stars NOT FOR SERVERS!But great for what it was made for
OK folks, let's get this straight.PC-Anywhere (or any such remote-control software) is NOT for servers!(I am a MCSE certified Systems Engineer with over 15 years of experience in large network environments...trust me when I tell you this).Remote-control software is also not the best solution for setting up remote-access for several network users.
1-0 out of 5 stars Never changes
You would think that a product would improve with time -- but no, not pcAnywhere! It is, always has been, and probably always will be deeply flawed. I installed this product on two Windows 2003 Servers. On one of them, the host service kept failing whenever I tried to initiate a file transfer. On the other server, file transfers worked fine but the visual display was a distortion of black and white lines. It's amazing -- every single version I work with has some problem that keeps me from being able to move it into production. And version 10.5 is no exception. Save your money! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Relief for Carpal Tunnel Sufferer!
I purchsed this software to transcribe tapes, and it has really given me some much needed relief from heavy typing.I'm able to wear both the headphones for the transcriber and for via voice, and I just dictate what I'm hearing from the transcribed tape! The easiest way to dictate, I found, is directly through the pad, and just cut and paste into word. Also, regardless of how poor you think your oratory skills are, speaking in your natural tone of voice helps the software to "learn" your voice pattern much quicker.I have found that even when I stumble over words that I use all the time, if I just do the voice analyzer after every session, it becomes more and more accurate. For a girl with a southern twang and drawl, that saying a lot! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Dragon Preferred is better than ViaVoice 10
I am a physician and dictate multiple letters every day.I was spending thousands of dollars (literally) a year for a transcriptionist to type my letters for me in the early 1990's.Not only that, there was about a one week turnaround time from when I dictated the letters into my tape recorder until the time they were typed and ready to be signed. When IBM first came out with speech recognition, I called IBM and actually spoke to the person who was the head of their R&D for speech recognition. From what he told me, I felt this new technology might save me a lot of time and money.I have used IBM for speech recognition since 1995 when they had Voice Dictation which was run off their own IBM OS2-Warp operating system. That required that you speak each word distinctly and separately. You needed a computer with a dual operating system (OS2 Warp and Windows 3.1).After dictating a letter into the OS2-Warp platform, you copied it, opened Windows and pasted it onto a Works letterhead.Lots of futzing around, but hey, it worked. When ViaVoice came out (in 1998, I think) I got their Executive 98 edition and have used it until recently. It worked fine, but my eight year-old computer finally died, and when I got a new Dell I figured I'd try the new ViaVoice 10.Big mistake!!!Initially it worked, but it was always kind of quirky.Made me wish I still had my old Executive 98 version.Anyway, one day, after spending a weekend programing in a bunch of macros, it totally died.I called IBM ViaVoice support and they had me do this thing and that to the computer, all to no avail. Finally, the technician asked what operating system I was using.I told him Windows XP service pack 2.He said that ViaVoice 10 is not compatible with service pack 2 - something about a "hostile environment".I asked him what I should do and he said return ViaVoice to Amazon (which they took back for a full credit even though the package had obviously been opened) and to get Dragon. That's right - the IBM technician said Dragon is a better product.Well, I ordered Dragon Preferred from Amazon and set-up was a breeze compared to ViaVoice.About 5 minutes of reading to the computer to adjust to my voice vs. 35 minutes for ViaVoice.Installing macros (addresses, common phrases, etc. where you say a couple of words and the whole address or paragraph comes up) was easy. One annoyance with the macros is that you always have to reset the font and size for each macro.I use Times New Roman 12-point and had to set it every time. The default font is something weird and the default size is 8-point.If you don't reset it, the macros show up in your letter in the 8-point size.Training new words is very simple and quick.Dragon says it is 99% accurate - I think that's a bit of a stretch, but I find that Dragon will make maybe 2-3 mistakes in a typical 3-4 paragraph letter that I dictate, including all the medical jargon.I can live with that - it is comparable to what I was used to with my old ViaVoice program.Correction is easy - either say Select _ and then choose the correct spelling from the dropdown list, or highlight the misspelled word and push the minus (-) sign on the numeric keypad.Dragon is very good when you have to correct a single word; not as hot if you have to correct a phrase or macro. It takes maybe 15-30 seconds to make corrections to the letter once I have finished dictating.Another annoyance is that Dragon doesn't seem to learn from it's mistakes. If, for example, I say Andersen, it will type Anderson no matter how many times I run the correction window, spelling the word ending with -sen not -son.ViaVoice, at least my old version, would usually spell the word correctly after I had corrected it once or twice.Another annoyance is that when I am dictating, often Dragon seems to hold back on typing, then suddenly an entire sentence will appear. It does show what you are dictating in a little box at the top of the screen though.ViaVoice shows every word as soon as you dictate it.I have had no problems with the microphone that came with Dragon - it's not the most comfortable, but it doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the dictation quality.Unless you have money to burn, there's probably no reason to buy a more expensive microphone.Overall, I am pretty happy with Dragon Preferred.I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it does what I need it to do.It is a definite improvement over my old IBM ViaVoice Executive 98 version.I am not sure I can accurately rate ViaVoice 10 because of my computer's "hostile environment".However, even the IBM technician said Dragon is a better product. If you have Windows XP service pack 2, don't even think of getting ViaVoice.

1-0 out of 5 stars You should find something else.
I just bought this product and tried to install it.It did not install right.Naturally I called customer service at Nuance. Then there comes the surprise. They give you free tech support only for first time on installation problem. From second time, you have to pay about $19 for support.I did not remember if it was one time fee or each time.Another surprise took place when I finally could talk to tech rep after about 10 min. wait. First thing he told me was that there are compatibility issues with Windows XP SP2.Tech Rep also told me that because of this, there is a really good chance you will have to call tech support more than twice which means you will have to pay and best thing I can do is to return this product and get refund.
4-0 out of 5 stars Might change my fiance's life!!!!!
My girlfriend has Multiple Sclerosis and has become limited in her ability to type. She was using an on-screen keyboard with a mouse, when I met her.One day I watched her type a short note to her mother she spent hours on two paragraphs.I told her that there had to be a better way and after a short search found ViaVoice. It was affordable and we decided to give it a try.We installed it the day it came and right away she was able to use its built in word processor to write letters to friends and family. We've only been working with it for 2 weeks, now, but it is a vast improvement over the onscreen keyboard. She can dictate a letter and make corrections in a fraction of the time possible before.

4-0 out of 5 stars Best productivity tool out there, but much room for improvement
Compared to using Outlook natively, or other productivity plug-ins (Getting Things Done or Clear Context), PlanPlus for Outlook 3.0 offers the best productivity features I've seen. The best feature is simply the ability to see your daily tasks next to your daily calendar in one view and the ability to prioritize these tasks within groups and assign relative priority as new tasks are added or deleted. Another great features is the Goals/Intermediate Tasks in the Weekly Planner which is great for creating high level goals, then breaking those goals down into achievable tasks that you can accomplish on a daily basis and schedule on your calendar or delegate to others. One bug with this is that the tasks on your calendar do not keep in sync with the tasks in your Weekly Planner (the Weekly Planner tasks should be Marked Complete when you mark the corresponding task complete and the due date should be updated when you update the due date on the task, and this should cause the overall due date for the goal to slip as well). Another functional shortcoming is the auto-ranking of tasks. It only works if you move a task (so if you have task A1, A2, and A3, moving A3 before A1 changes it to A1, and the others automatically renumber). However, if you add or delete a task, they don't automatically renumber unless you move one of the tasks and move it back. This just is annoying and makes no sense why they did it this way. Two other promising features are the PowerNotes and Project list, but I'm not sure why they don't integrate with Microsoft One Note and Project respectively since these are common office productivity tools commonly used in enterprises. For example, the ability to enter a detailed project plan and then schedule or assign individual tasks is very powerful, but the fact that you have to enter the project plan manually in PlanPlus makes no sense. Why not be able to at least import a MS Project file? And PowerNotes is incredibly powerful since you can take notes, even using digital ink on tablet PCs, and store web pages, or any other documents all in one place, but why not use MS Word or One Note as the document format rather than the proprietary PlanPlus format? It seems like the product team should focus on adding productivity features to existing Microsoft Office software rather than try and create competing inferior and incompatible products.

3-0 out of 5 stars Delivers as Advertised, but Lackluster Performance
GMP/FranklinCovey PlanPlus for Microsoft Outlook 3.0 works as promised. However, there were minor problems and annoyances that got me to uninstall the software. For example, the software relies heavily on the .NET framework, and this often caused lockups that required Outlook to be restarted.I liked the single view of my calendar, e-mail, tasks, and notes, but the interface needs updating to provide the look, feel, and funtionality of Outlook 2003.It was obviously designed around Outlook 2000 & 2002/XP, and therefore didn't harness some of the features of Outlook 2003.Overall, it was an average product that I give 3 stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars swtester
If you want your HP printer driver to be USELESS, then buy PlanPlus.I purchased version 3.0 hoping the solution would be fixed -- it was not and after four years of having time to fix the problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars DataPilot for Sony Ericsson-Does it work, or just a fiction
Bought this product about a month back for my Sony/Ericsson T616. But I did not realize, that I am paying for half functional product. Only think is working with the base version: 3.1 is the address book, and rest of feature does not work at all. Contact Susteen (Software manufacturer), and was told to upgrade to the latest version. Then I had a error installing latest version - contacted Susteen again, and was told how to by pass the error. Installed the latest version, and some of the feature start working half. Such as downloading picture from your camera. I cann see the files from the software, but cannot save them in my computer. Contacted the vendor again, and got reply after two weeks, that it will be fix in the Version: 3.3. Now I wonder, what kind quality control Susteen is maintaining before releasing a product in the market. ... Read more
