Netobjects Fusion 8 - Just awesome!
This program has a short learning curve.The interface is intuitive to users at all levels.This software is much improved from the earlier releases.I'm not going to repeat the stuffs that are listed on the netobjects.com, but you should really checkout this product.The site wizard is not bad either.I give it a 5 stars rating.

Long Learning Curve
This is not an easy program to learn. I am a previous user of FrontPage, so I don't consider myself a beginner. You can build a great website with this program, but it will take you forever to do it. There also quite a few bugs with the software that haven't been worked out.

Long Time User of NetObjects

Too early in the versions
While I found the concept and price in line with what I wanted to do, the implementation was another story. I did not have the ability to create enough branches on the tree structure to make my site the way it would make sense. Couple that with the product crashing often and rewriting my layouts and graphics made it very frustrating.Customer support wound up telling me to use the tool menu to rebuild the data base, (Not well covered in the manual) which does fix most problems but you have to do it over and over.... Their main response at the end after trying to give a lot of relevant feedback was that "this is only version 1.1, we're still working on it". Makes me wish they were not in such a hurry to get it to market. Bottom line: If you have a small shop with a few items, (12 for their instant store settings) then it will be fine. If you are doing a bigger store or have say 12 product lines or more, the known bugs will blow you out of the water and you need to look elsewhere. It just is not flexible enough or stable enough.

Not bad.
I have used numerous different e-commerce applications, and this is one of the more thourough versions that I have seen. Complete listing of unlimited items, graphic support, customizable templates, and much more is yours fora fraction of what an item with this many features usually runs. Hard to implement, poor support, give this a miss...
I bought StoreFront 6.0 directly from LaGarde.I found it difficult to implement.Support staff were largely inexperienced.They could never get the e-mail confirmation feature to work.Some of our customer orders would get "lost" between PayPal and the StoreFront software.Quantities can not be changed (we sell some products by the kilogram, others by the dozen).The list of states is not connected to pull-down list of countries, so U.K. customers need to search through all the U.S. states and Canadian provinces to find their U.K. county.I have requested a refund under their 30 day "no excuses" guarantee and am still waiting.I recommend Actinic e-commerce software instead:I had our store up and running with Actinic in a few hours.Battled with StoreFront for over five weeks, and it never worked.

StoreFront made selling online easy
Building an online store with this software was a heck of a lot easier than I expected.Integrates beautifully and logically with FrontPage.I had products for sale, taking credit cards, shipping (with realtime rate quotes) through UPS in no time.I saved a lot of time over downloading and integrating scripts. Very Poor Support.
I bought this software directly from 'Lagarde'. Their sales people convinced me and I found the features very attractive. But how good the features are if there is no support. A very poor support department is unable to handle after sales support.At the time of this writing my webstore is down for last 25 days due to some error in their application. They have neither done any thing nor they have any answer on when it will be fixed. Now I am stuck and suggest that if you want to build a good business, do not use this company and their software as your technology base. Look somewhere else. ... Read more

No Control
This is a great product if the company using it wants limited control over, not just design, but also functionality.I bought this product withthe assumption that it would help me to better design and control myecommerce sight and as the book tells it, grow.The control is primarily aplace called www.ecplace.com. This product should be advertised as anecommerce interface to a third party vendor to market your ecommerce sight. When attempting to use the created product I found this ecplace sitecontrols the transactions.Also, the enquiry form was actually atwww.ecplace.com, even though while building the site or reading the bookmakes no mention that the product is sharing pages with a company on thenet. I give this software a very low mark for the fact that it should beadvertised as an interface and not a true ecommerce production tool. Smells of follow on expenses that small or new businesses doesn't need.Iwould stay clear of it.

Wished I would have read the reviews first
I purchased this product without reading the reviews first, DON'T BUY THIS.I wasted time reading the instructions to figure out how to develop a commerce site and realized that numerous steps were skipped or out of order.I contacted technical support with questions and suggestions and their response was just as vague/unhelpful as the lame manual.I never did get the commerce features (tables) to work, but it looks like when you download orders or update products that the website has to be "locked" while you do this.What a pain!

No idea if it can work at all.Other owners specify Boomerang Software charges for all aspects of this product...extra!!NO DECENT DOCUMENTATION.Understand a totorial can only be had for extra money!

Interesting ebook, but not an ecommerce software

Where's the beef?!
After reading all the above reviews. I had to put my 2 cents worth in. I have used versions 4 & 5 annnnd, I like it! It's a very fast way to deploy a site. NetObjects 5.0, buggy at first...
NetObjects is a very good software package that is extremey user freindly and at the same time offers a truckload of features. You can make everything at the click of a button. I don't think you will find an easier program to make a comprehensive website out there. No! Bad Bad

I have found this program extremely hard to understand and use.I own frontpage, and think that it is much easier to navigate and get things accomplished.This program is not for begginers and I am in desperate need of help with it, but can't seem to find that either.Manual or not- I do not like this program.

Not for those who like control of their coding
I used to use this software up until August of 2002.I am forced to give it only three stars only because of its annoying lack of allowing the user to edit the source code of individual pages.Fusion operates much like a desktop publishing program.Those familiar with this will find no trouble transitioning to Fusion.On the other hand, anybody who has good knowledge of HTML should look elsewhere.I've made the transition from Fusion to Notepad rather smoothly.The software has templates, sure.However, those knowledgeable enough to implement a template outside what is included should find no trouble using a more complicated package. A very good program to do WYSIWG. However, it lacks the simplicity of Frontpage on the pubilshing feature and other interactive features such as FORM publishing.

have you ever heard the saying " You get what you pay for"?Well with E business in a box, this statement is true.Lousy customer service, lousy designers and lousy website.I got a generic website design and when I complained they told me that THEY PUT THE NEW DESIGNERS ON THE E-BUSINESS ACCOUNTS AS THESE ARE THE LOWEST LEVEL.Yes, they told me that.They agreed to give me a new more qualified designer.I still ended up with a generic site. When I complained again they told me if I upgraded (payed more money) I could get a better site.If you want a professinal site DO NOT use E-business in a box.If you are a grandmother who is selling your knitting in your spare time and what a site so your family can see it then this might be for you. but... still I doubt it
CI Host did not fulfill their contract with our Company
Our saga is long and drawn out. We purchased "E-Business in a Box" on 4-19-02 and were supposed to be up and running in 7 to 10 days. Our store finally became functional on 9-12-02 although there had not been any customization of the store as their sales information stated was to be provided. The entire store was an out-of-the-box, here-ya-go, you-figure-it-out setup. Something's Fishy Here...

A Nightmare.
If you are a startup e-biz I would steer clear of this offering from Macmillan. The product licensure was sold to Macmillan from its original developer "Boomerang Software" over two years ago and Boomerang no longer provides support for the product. Its hosting requirements are rather strict, and I found much of it complicated, particularly for the beginner. Dynamic pages were also VERY difficult to adapt from their pre-set templates. Boomerang designed this product to be used in conjunction with merchant handler "securepay.com". Once you design your e-commerce site using the software, a wizard directs you to apply for a merchant account setup with securepay which costs hundreds of dollars, leaving you with little or no choice to shop around for another, less costly payment gateway. I also found several curious programming errors in the product. The instructional documentation was frought with typos and poorly printed illustrations. My advice would be to save your money, and keep shopping.
