Mac Office Update 2004
I finally made the decision to update and it is easy to install and use the new features. I still wish Microsoft would include Publisher in their package for the Mac like it does for Windows....Maybe their next version will (hope - hint).

Microsoft--Square Corners and All
Typical Microsoft product with inherent viscosity of use (as compared to Apple products) but a solid suite of very useful software.I use the apps in both worlds(Windows and Apple) with no significant problems.This is my third upgrade and they do work better with each iteration.

Office 2004 for Mac is a nice improvement
Ibought the Office 2004 upgrade, finally, because certain minor misfits of Office X with current versions of Mac OS X became too annoying. It is an improvement. Those annoying crashes and refusals to bring the desired window to the front disappeared. It has a few nice formatting improvements, such as Page view in Excel. Powerpoint seems a little more refined. I thought that I'd like Word's notebook view, because I used the stand-alone product on Windows. Very confusing!
I used to type brochures using Microsoft Word. It was a hassle, so I decided to try Publisher 2003. After several hours simply trying to get a specific yet simple template set up, I gave up in frustation. Most disappointing!

Good Software - Very Poor Loading Instructions
This is about our 5th version of Office and we have also gone through at least 3-4 versions of several other Microsoft programs. Like most Microsoft packages, we are very pleased with the functionality of each of the software programs and find each new version more powerful and easier to use and manuever through than the last.

5 simple words: Great Product, but TOO expensive. It is very hard for all people to pay $300+ on this product. I would recommend it though if you could afford it.

Decent Upgrade
For the home use for which I acquired this product, the upgrade is decent.I don't use most of it's functionality, but what I do use is very nice.

Worthwhile purchase
I needed upgrades for my Microsoft Office and this really did the trick.I enjoy using Outlook 2003 much more than the older version I had for several years.Most of the other parts of the package are fairly similar, although there are several features of Word that are a bit annoying to me.Otherwise I would give it an excellent rating.

STOP!Seriously Consider Star Office 8 Instead!
Before you donate your hard-earned money yet again to Bill Gates' 'Feed the Multi-Billionaire Fund', do yourself and the world a favor and search for 'Star Office 8' on Amazon and read the reviews there. I use MS Office Professional 2003 in the office, and just cannot believe how badly so many businesses and individuals are being ripped off by Microsoft for this BLOAT-ware.

A Must-Have Organizational Tool for Any Professional (or Gamer)
I used MS OneNote daily at work to keep track of documentation and to save and organize canned emails. This program has saved me a lot of time that might otherwise be spent organizing folders and folders of hundreds of MS Word documents.

This product is great for anyone who takes extensive notes or just needs to get themselves organized.It works well with the To Do list in Outlook and with just about any other Microsoft product.It's especially amazing in conjuction with a Tablet PC.I've been using it for over 2 years and I have yet to have a problem with it!

The Better Wordprocessor
I recently loaded the one month demo version of Corel WordPerfect Office X3. The main changes appear to be improved compatibility with other software. In addition, Corel changed the skin to make it look more like XP, added a Yahoo toolbar, and for those who need it, the WordCount feature is on the application bar at the bottom of the WordPerfect window. This new version appears to be very stable.
compare this "cheapie" to MS works 8.5, Star Office suites
I thought it was great that Wordperfect now included an e-mail component plus some other much needed features like a somewhat better PDF conversion utility and better compatibility with Microsoft products.

StarOffice 8 - no more Microsoft
Sun's open source StarOffice 8 is a fantastic alternative to the MS Office suite of products. Though a bit slower to load initially once you are up and running I find StarOffice every bit as intuitive and easy to use as any other office suite.
Complete and easy-to-use office suite
This program does everything I need from an office suite and much more.I use mostly the word processing and spreadsheet features and they are as easy to use as MS Word and Excel.Earlier StarOffice vesions had some MS Office compatibility problems - mostly with document formating.I have not noticed any problems with compatibility between StarOffice 8 and MS Office, but would be carefull using it if 100% compatibilty was essential to the application.Overall I find StarOffice a far better value than MS Office.

I finally upgraded my word processing program and love it.I knew I would because I have always used MS Word.

Best Office Ever--But Could Be Better
I'm studying to become a game programmer. I bought this product to upgrade from an older version, primarily, for the ability to make your own formating styles (in addition to having normal font, the headers, and a couple others.. you can make your own custom ones) so that managing my game documentation would be easier. That way, if I wanted to change the apearance of soemthing in the document (such as the font color of a hero's ability), I would need only to change the format that each entry was using rather than change each entry individually.

Word 2003 is more powerful than ever.Unfortunately, most of the new features are aimed primarily towards large business.As a result, many end-users simply won't need them (or be able to use them).The users who will benefit most from upgrading are corporate users or users purchasing bundles with new PCs.Read more

I'm not a MS fan, but this is a great package for a small business owner who is interested in contact managment and sales as well as document and presentation work.

Love it... But one HUGE problem...
Howdy, I just wanted to share one BIG problem I've encountered. The "Business Contact Manager" (comes on a seperate disk) is NOT compatable with ANY version of "Intellisync". Save your money
Attempted to upgrade from 97 to 2003... bad move... none of my access 97 programs work now... in fact I, I brought home a 2003 access database from work to see if it was an incampatibility problem between the two versions... nope... the upgrade just didn't work.....had to purchase a full version to set things right... save your money on this product...

Keep Access 2000
This software is not worth upgrading.I think Access 2000 is the best database and 2002 is good if you want to use Data Access Pages.Access 2003 has a lot of bugs.I'm having trouble with basic formulas.This is very frustrating. Re : Internet Activation Policy

as bad as BG's MS word 2003
I used to love wordperfect. Now I regret using it for my PhD thesis (and spending research funds). Can't handle a 100 page document with graphs(how pathetic is that).

I have been a Wordperfect user since the release of 5 on a 486 machine.I have used 7,9,10,11,12 and now X13.I liked what they did to the icons and now the use of pdf in WP.Corel has enhanced these features, icons, and made them updated as well as made them more user friendly.I am a WP person and not a Microsoft Office user and plan to stay that way.They really made X13 much better and made it to still be easy to use and navigate with. Its worth the upgrade price and its still in my opinon is the best word processor around.Its a good and solid product.Go buy yourself a copy. ... Read more

A Quality Improvement . . .
If you look at my review history, you may note that I've given very few five-star reviews. I save five stars for outstanding products. I believe Wordperfect X3 is best described as outstanding.
Does Not Perform As Advertised
I upgraded from Wordperfect Office 12 to X3, but have returned the upgrade to Wordperfect.The much touted ability to import PDF files is so poorly implemented that it is all but unusable.In addition, the Wordperfect Mail component will not load data files while my antivirus (ZoneAlarm) is running in the background.Corel Technical Support takes no responsibility for the incompatability.Do not upgrade unless these issues are addressed. ...
