My Favourite WordProcessing Program
Corel have done it again. WordPerfect remains the easiest wordprocessor on the market to use, as it continues to have the most important feature of all, reveal codes. The X3 tweak to the interface is visually pleasing. The metadata removal feature is vital in the present climate. It relates efficiently with the PDF format. Great for College Students

excellent alternative to Microsoft Office!
Wow, this is simply amazing program that works just like Microsoft Office at less than a 1/10 of the price.In the writer's group I run on MSN, I often run into a new writers needing the basic tools to get started.When they see Office's price they scream they cannot afford the cost.They need a Word Process program like WORD - face it they need WORD!!So many steps in publishing need documents in WORD format, you need others to be able to open and read your documents.Only some people just don't have that price for Office in their budget.I had been recommending to these budding writers buy WORKS.It has the full version of WORD, but lacks Powerpoint and Excel.

Filemaker Pro 6 is great!
This versatile program is easy to use and yet makes the tech types happy.For the price there is no comparison! Fantastically Versatile Program!
To even compare FileMaker Pro with Access is absurd. Outstanding. More than most people need.
I have worked with very large databses (greater than 500 tables in Oracle and SyBase) and very small ones. If you are looking for a db implementation for less than $50,000, your first product to evaluate should be Filemaker. It will probably do all (and more) than you need. Anyone who says that MS Access is easier or more reliable than Filemaker either works for Microsoft or has some other unhelpful bias. Ask users and/or developers to show you databases built in the two products and you will see an enormous difference. The Access ones are likely to be crude and require frequent redevelopment work. The Filemaker ones are likely to be clean, reliable and flexible.Read more

The best wordprocessing package in the World!
Wordperfect is the best word processor in the world.I am not one of those nut-cases who doesn't know how to use anything else.I am very good at dozens of wordprocessing packages, I have been forced to use many of them.Wordperfect is more user friendly, more powerful.I can get my work done much faster.It is easier to do special formatting and make things look exactly like you want.Then, you can save it as a PDF without any extra software!This may not be a big deal, but wordperfect files are at least half the size (and sometimes up to 1/10 the size) of the exact same MS word document.This is another discovery that lets me know that the Corel software was created by better programmers.In addition, Corel support staff is much more friendly.When I bought my wordperfect, I was given my very own personal support guy.I never used him, because I am pretty computer saavy, but it did make me feel special.

Darn Better Than Word
Ease with word processors are a function of what you are used to. I got used to WordPerfect in the early 1990s while still using a Macintosh and remain faithful despite the transition to Windows and Dell. The Corel package remains so much better than Word. No dumb office assistant. And you can access the codes. Microsoft buries the cheat codes that format the documents and if you are writing a very large report or book - that can become an enormous difficulty when finalizing the format for a publisher. Corel Presentations is so much better than PowerPoint and offers fewer difficulties. As for the crashing of the program that some of the reviewers below complain about, I remain convinced that Microsoft made it difficult for alternate office suites to work on Windows, though a lot fewer problems have occured on XP. I blame the operating system, not the office suite. The biggest hassle can come when you have a publisher or office that only accepts the Microsoft package. Provided one formats from Corel to Word first (and not within Word itself) under the Save As option, I have had few problems. Office may dominate the market but I'm not a fan.

I love this program
I took classes in Wordperfect 8 and word. Wordperfect is better hands down. I have upgraded to 9 and I now have the full version of 10 with dragon. It has never crashed on me. I have a sony computer that came with 10 because it works so well with xp. I bought the whole version and I will not use word. It is to slow and is terrible for mail merge. The problems that these people are having is becuse they do not know how to use the program. I am also surpised that amozon does not say that it works with xp. Wordperfect 2000 does not work with xp put 2002 does. That is why Sony has it on all of there computers and not word. I am using the professioal ediditon.
