Not as Advertised
The package does not include an instruction book as displayed in the ad. I received the CD only without the security code necessary to install it. The marketplace seller includes a coupon to request a hardware device which he claims is out of stock at the moment.

Almost Perfect!
This is a simple but commendable collection of popular Microsoft products. Encarta Encyclopedia is great for looking up interesting articles and helping people getting information interesting topics relating to our world today. It's very helpful to kids who want to get the most of their education by getting insightful information about topics relating to class work. Money is a wonderful solution that provides many home users with the ability to manage their money well, with features for banking online and managing household finances. Picture It! Photo is satisfactory for removing a flaw or two in Photos, but will never compare to other photo-editing programmes such Adobe Photoshop Elements which I think is worth it more than this low end photo-editor from Microsoft. Office Portfolio is garbage I purchased it separately and was very much disappointed. The templates in Microsoft Office are much better, I would advise you stick to those. Overall its not a bad collection, but I think it could do with a little more spice, maybe if they dropped in one of the MS Office apps such Excel it would have made it a little bit worthier. If I could recommend another product it would be Corel WordPerfect Family Pack 4 or even Microsoft's own Works Suite 2003. ... Read more

The eater of work
I bought this product a little over a year ago at an office supply chain. As far as the program itself, I was quite happy. Until tonight. Suddenly, a window popped up when I tried to access the word processor, telling me that in order to continue using the product I would have to buy a *full version*. Nowhere in the packaging or literature is it indicated that this is a trial version program (although the price here on Amazon[.com] is certainly a clue). Now I have a worthless program that I can't access with over a year's work on it. Save yourself some headache down the road, buy a *real* office suite bundle.

Home Office 2000 is for the typical computer user, whether for personal or professional use.While it may not have the highly advanced features of the more expensive office suites, most users - even power users - don't even know how to use those features.Read more

WORD PERFECT7.0 Will always Be There...
With all the Word Processors, Word Perfect still gives you more then all the others. The WYSISYG is much better then MS Word (IMHO) and easier to use. When I had to upgrade from WP 6, it was a bit getting used to but thefeature I liked best is if you mis-type a word, it will be underlined inred so you can correct it or you can use QUICK CORRECT.The new blue linesshowing you where the margins are and how to change within the document,WONDERFUL!WP 7 has more fonts , grapnics, and being able to write HTML isan added plus! ... For cheap computer users only
There are some people that would rather save money than anything else. My friend John would love this software so I plan to send it to him. He doesn't want to spend money so bad he would endure something like this software. I tried it just to see if it could offer any competition to the overpriced Microsoft Office Suites. It can't begin to challenge MS Office or Corel WordPerfect Office. The reasons are as follows:
staroffice rocks but there are some issues
Everything works great with staroffice and openoffice software.Opening and saving MS documents is a breeze as long there are not VB/VB script controls associated with them (most of my documents don't).I have this installed on Redhat linux 9.0 and Win98.I am glad that they got rid of Staroffice desktop manager. For a product at this price the features are great but I will continue to spend more money on MS products for the following reasons. Just use MS Office and be done
The functionality of this software product leaves a lot to be desired. You can purchase MS Office and have the complete package and be very pleased.Read more
