Less than one star if it were possible
As all of the others I find this "software" not only useless, but downright dangerous! It kept reporting that the "property agxPID" could not be found - too true, you can't any reference to it anywhere on the Internet... My laptop had to be reimaged from scratch in order to get rid of all the problems it caused. Deinstalling & clearing the registry did NOT help... How anyone who "sells" integrity etc. could live with this catastrophe I just don't know. If you want to effectively turn your computer into a garbage heap use this "software" - the only more effective way is a sledgehammer applied with force! Rob

NO SUPPORTfor PlanPlus v.3
I'm using a new Pentium D with 1 Gb of memory, Windows XP and Outlook 2002. PlanPlus first crashed my internet account settings.Once I fixed that it dropped multiple tasks then created duplicate, triplicate, and quadruplicate copies of the same task.Called the FranklinCovey store, no one knows this product. No call-in tech support available, chat room for tech questions closed.UNACCEPTABLE FOR A $100 PIECE OF SOFTWARE.FC's online knowledge base Does not address or recognize the problem with duplicates.I used FranklinCovey software 2-3 years ago with same experience...seems NOTHING HAS CHANGED.
Competing for Worst SW Product Ever
I am absolutely convinced by now that the folks at Franklin Covey are striving to set new lows in SW product quality. No product could be this bad if not intentionally. I tried more times that I'd like to admit and wasted countless hours trying to get it to work with my PALM and finally decided to uninstall it and throw it out. Day-Timer Organizer 2000
I started using DTO 2k in 1997.It is an excellent program with a lot of perks.Until now (Feb 2003) I would consider it a 5 star plus program.However I've dumped it because the Day-Timer company no longer supports the program.Therefore, Day-Timer is a dead end unless some other enterprizing software company takes it over.Hopefully that will happen.Until that time I will use another organizer that is Palm compatible, namely, Palm Desktop.

This is a more than decent calendar product but.......
OK, first off, I like this product.As a matter of fact, I use it all the time and if I didn't have it I would grow extremely anxious and start acting out, so it is a big part of my daily routine.That being said, hereare the probems.First, it is very hard to get it to print your notes (orsome of the more complex reports), and your relationships, although allthis stuff is perfectly visible and available and linkable in the computer,which makes for a certain amount of swearing all around.If you have noproblem keeping all this stuff in the database and then exporting it viathe always popular copy-and-paste method, that's one thing.But I've gotover 5,000 records in this database after only a year and I must admit thatthe old reliable copy'n'paste is growing a tad stale.On the good side,Daytimer continues to provide freebie updates over the internet.On thebad side, you have to accept their cookies into your machine for them to dothis, which makes the more paranoid among us a tad nervous. But hey, itis much more natural for me than the Franklin Planner software, which was akind of "Hal open the pod bay doors" experience," so that'sgood.And it's made for people like myself who thought ACT was just waytoo complicated, so that's also a positive thing.I think it is a goodproduct as long as you are prepared to accept the above conditions, and ofcourse the fact that Daytimer's software techies are really hard to getahold of, so don't even think about it. But overall I think my world isbetter with this product than without, and having gone through a fairnumber of its competitors, I think it is a decent use of the money.Theprice is reasonable.It's just these little niggling annoying faults thatmake me think no one really tested this by using it, they just slammedtogether a bunch of different modules and said, hey, it looks good to me. Oh, right, it also links reasonably well with my Palm V.It's definitelyeasy to link and my issues are more from the software interaction there(i.e. you can't display the information in the same way and some of theinfo of course doesn't make it over to the Palm) than any shortfalls in theDaytimer software function.About every other time, after my Daytimersoftware closes, it announces to me and the whole world that it has had afault and is closing (duh).The one techie I finally managed to get aholdof after making the phone pilgrimage to Utah or wherever they do this stuffsaid something along the lines of "oh yeah, we're working onthat," but this fault has done nothing to the integrity of my data andreally doesn't seem to be more than an annoying cosmetic fault. ... Organizer flys!!
Having used Organizer since 95 I consider myself hooked. I keep everything and my file is 50MB but opens in a couple of seconds. Outlook doesn't come close and only people who know Organizer can see why I consider Outlook primative. I have a Nokia 6600 and it syncs my various Contacts (both personal and business), my Diary, Planner and To-Do list. A bit of a shame Nokia doesnt deliver the same interface. Users will be aware of the benefits of links to both Organizer contacts/notes/appointments but also external files. Great to keep all your research data in a structured note with links. Easyclip makes fast work of the double handling issues with Corporate Outlook email. The import facility works well with lists (I arrange in excel and export to CSV).
It Just Doesn't Get Better Than This!
I've used Lotus Organizer since the early 90's and have upgraded religiously.At job interviews, I'd even ask if I was allowed to install my one necessary program, Lotus Organizer.Now that I'm older and use a PDA, I still can't live without it.Any little thing I need to remember, any idea I might want to research later, just jot it, set a reminder and forget about it.My favorite feature of all is the linking, so I can cross-reference a contact with notes, web pages, events or even other contacts.I also love being able to archive; I have one large file that stays on my home hard drive and has every old task, appointment and contact since before 2000 while my active file stays trim.It's indispensable.If IBM ever drops it, there's nothing on the market right now that could rival Lotus Organizer.From college to career, it's done well by me!

One of the three most vital pieces of software I own
Lotus Organizer is an excellent personal and professional organization tool.I have used it (in different versions) for years to keep my personal schedule, while living as an undergraduate and graduate student, researcher, and instructor.I am particularly impressed with the Palm Pilot interface, so that I no longer have to print out my weekly (or daily) schedule and carry around a piece of paper to mark on all week.Read more

Better Than Palm Desktop
Franklin Covey, generally recognized as the leader in paper time management products and time management training, has yet to bring their software products up to the level of their overall reputation.Their software does a fairly good job of mimicing the paper-based Franklin Planner, but does not really capitalize on the fact that it's hosted on a computer platform, albeit small.The desktop software does a better job than the Palmtop, especially with respect to prioritizing tasks.Read more
