Never loaded it due to the negative comments here.
I just hate the way MS offers a viable alternative that does not cut the mustard out of the starting gate.No wonder Gates has billions.He keeps the money for himself rather then plowing back into key launches of product with a perfect track record out the gate.
Warning - This product comes with daily ads
The "feature" that makes me sorry I bought Microsoft SBA is the "Spotlight" -- a bulleted list of text ads that appear on every major screen, and that download new content on every one of those screens, every time you open the program. These text versions of pop-ups slow the application even more than its already-glacial pace (it's a bigger memory hog than Photoshop or Dreamweaver).You have the option to remove this "content", but on only one of the five screens where it appears. It is beyond annoying -- it's as if you brought a box of cereal, and were forced to listen to a commercial every time you wanted to eat some of it.
Ambivalent feelings
I brought this accounting software to use for basic tasks in my business. The general look appears to be similar to quickbooks. I am used to Peachtree, yet I had no difficulty with the basic navigation.

Very disappointing
This product will be just fine if: you don't have to enter historical data, you're tenants never move out, you never sell a property, you don't mind entering data manually instead of having the program do it for you (silly you).
BAD PROGRAM
The info doesn't transfer onto quickbooks. I couldn't keep track of late fees automatically. Rent isn't automatic every month, it must be manually entered monthly. This was a pain to use.BAD PROGRAM

Avery Design Pro 5.0
Bought this program because I was continually having problems with other programs I used to make business cards, address labels, and especially labels for CD's.I could never get them to align properly on Avery media, no matter what.They would always turn out off kilter, which made the labels look less than professional.With Design Pro 5.0, the first time I tried to make CD labels, Viola!! -perfectly centered.I consider this an extremely good buy. Only one minor drawback, doesn't have as many designs available as some other programs, but that is a minor price to pay.

Excelent Buy
We was looking for an Accounting Package for our business, and we find Peachtree Accounting 2006 that is great for our use. We currently using to carry the accounting of our business. We reccmmend it

Works as advertised, but expect no support, complicated menus and junk mail
I purchased Peachtree Accounting for my small business to keep track of my inventory, purchase and sales.The software is a power tool with numerous reports and abilities which to be honest, are beyond my needs as the owner of a small business, but that means that there is room to grow.Initial setup of my company records took a bit of time due to navigation which is counterintuitive and poor descriptions in the manual.Basically, the authors of the software and manuals assume that the software user has an accounting background and done offer a lot of help if you do not.The process is also hindered by the fact that you must start with accounts already set up based on an example business which means that I have dozens of account numbers which I will never use and had to go back and delete.

Not very impressed with Simply Accounting Basic
I was hoping I'd like this more than the corporate bookkeeping system I currently use.We have an acccountant, but like to keep track of the day to day books and cash flow.I was hoping this would be a little easier on us (two of us handle bookkeeping and neither of us have a background in finance or accounting).

I' would like to start by saying that I made the mistake of buying Microsoft's Small Business Accounting 2006 first.I got sucked in because Microsoft offered a rebate that made it about the same price as Simply Accounting.I thought, "What a bargain!"

I don't even think a "FOR DUMMIES" book could help me with this
I've been around my share of software in my time, both on Mac and PCs.But I have never, ever experienced such a user-UNFRIENDLY bit of software as Peachtree Complete Accounting.Navigation is not at all straightforward, actually there is nothing about Peachtree that is remotely straighforward!Even attempting to register the product was a nightmare.
Software ok, support is horrible
This program is very inflexible and rigid.On board Help files are very limited and I've never dealt with another company who seems to care less about supporting their product as you can tell just by trying to find out where to write or call.Unless you're paying the bucks for a support plan, you're toast.However, given the price of the software, which is expensive, you'd think some consideration would be given to users.If I ran my company the same way Peachtree support is managed, I'd be bankrupt.

Easy to use
We've been using Peachtree software for years and it has served our needs. The software is very easy to use. Much better than Quickbooks. The new text auto-complete feature saves a lot of time for data entry. Make sure you get the "Complete" version, not the regular Peachtree 2006 because the Complete version has many useful features not found in the regular version. ... Read more

If you are even remotely serious about your invoicing and accounts receivable, don't even think about wasting forty bucks on this incredibly worthless application.It produces "nice looking" invoices; big deal.You can do the same thing in word processing.Buying this software will remind you of the junk you bought from ads in a comic book 40 years ago, like X-Ray Specs or Sea Monkeys.It's total garbage (from a software publisher who practically INVENTED garbage). ... There is a reason the pro's use this..
Because they are pro's in their field.If you hire an outsidebookkeeper or accountant, you will find that most of them use QuickBooks. The complaints that I am reading are from business owners who truly believe that buying a piece of software is going to educate them and they will (poof) become good accountants or bookkeepers !!
Tax Table Subscription is expensive.
I haven't had any significant problems with the software and it realitivly simple to use, but the tax table update subscribtion is $199.00 per year!

A bargain at half the price!
As a result of the low price I was not expecting much but sadly I was still disappointed. I had the opportunity to see the product's package at a local store. If the product only delivered the functionality displayed on its package it would be worth the price. Add in free tech support, how could you go wrong? You start by missing one of your primary objectives then you add some bugs and weak tech support. The package displays a beautiful printed bid, the product doesn't. The bid lacks formatting, has no grand totals and can't be tied to the customer database. Tech support acknowledged that the developers were unable to get the customer data on the bid but that they hoped they would be able to figure it out at some time in the future. As for bugs, if you try to print with your printer off you get a runtime error and the program ends. If you have a broadband Internet connection and you attempt to update the database you will spend some time closing a multitude of update complete message boxes before you can exit the program. Tech support couldn't answer questions about the product and despite promises never called back with the answer. There are other strange things such as "drop and drag" functionality that is implemented by selecting a record and clicking a button on the tool bar. On the bright side I guess it will save wear and tear on your mouse. ... Read more

Checksoft 2005 Personal Deluxe
This is a great program for creating and writing your own checks from multiple accounts using inexpensive blank or light background paper. It is far superior to other similar programs I have tried.

There are a lot of applications of the web that claim to do this and almost all don't work and are truly bush league. This one works well and will keep you check book in balance. Prints especially good on a laser printer. Save a bundle and the hassle of going through your bank. It will pay for this price by eliminating your next check order, and then save hundreds over time. Program stinks!
I bought the software about a month ago. Everything was working fine until a prompt for an update came across. The update process removed the aplication from my computer. Attempts to re-install the product were fruitless. The program is now worthless. Attempts to get a response from Intuit were also fruitless. Last time I buy an Intuit product and my advise is for everyone not to buy this worthless product and any other Intuit product.

Better than Paper, But Not Full Featured like Quicken
QRPM is a stand-alone software program for tracking rental income and expenses. It does not integrate with Quicken, Quickbooks, or Excel. It does allow you to export to TurboTax, but that's the extent of integration.
Like a spreadsheet, but less useful
This Rental Property Manager is like having one register for each property to track credits and debits.Some reports.Thats it. Using the regular Quicken Basic, with a Banking account and a Property/Asset account, works better and gives you a way to compare operating expenses, income, mortgage/loan information, and property value.Since its scope is limited, having shorter lists of categories and tax schedules and lines to worry about than in the regular Quicken software, but the limited scope and higher cost for a focused subset of Quicken Basic? Not so useful.

Still learning
I bought Quicken since I wanted to be able to keep track of my expenses.I am taking a class to learn to use it.I am not yet proficient with it, but it seems promising.

Just changed banks, and got bumped by Quicken 2005
Well, to follow up on most of the other reviews: Intuits choice, not to allow .qif imports for checking accounts anymore, it the big bummer. I didn't realize this issue, until I recently moved.

I did not order QB2005 but was sent it.I inquired and you responded with that I must have pushed the 1 click order, what ever that is.I asked for an explanation of what QB2005 was and got no answer, except I should return it for credit. Great Product
I bought this product more than 3 months ago. I have a small business and needed something to help me deal with my finances. This product does just that with nice, easy screens. I have not had any issues, and recomend this product to anyone.

Correct a complaint
I ordered "Bookkeeper 2005" sometime ago and it was shipped to California by mistake.The supplier had offered to give me credit and also give me the software because of the delay in getting the product.Unfortunately, I complained about the service and described the vendor's service as "lousy".On the back of my complaint I received the offer to replace the shipment at no charge, but I had already filed the complaint. My apologies to the supplier and please correct my comment about his service.
