SureTrak Project Manager software
I have used this product for several years, and it has become my favorite for use in planning engineer/procure/construct projects. This product compares each task's percent complete to the current date to establish early start and finish dates, and adjusts dependent tasks accordingly. That feature immediately eliminates false float until late tasks or all tasks have been updated correctly. The built-in filters and reports are excellent. The improved PERT interface is helpful when establishing overall logic, particularly amoung numerous engineering disciplines, construction crafts, project administration personnel, and client budget and schedule requirements. Its ability to create files that may be incorporated into Primavera Project Planner files allows EPC contractors to schedule the engineering and procurement portion of their projects with a very cost effective product. This product makes it possible to utilize a relatively static amount of manpower to accomplish numerous projects simultaneously, providing information on which tasks on which projects must be performed in which sequence so that each of the projects is completed on time.

Best single-user PM software bar none

Wow!Priceless! Simply the best in its class.
Being somewhat skeptical after seeing the numerous mapping softwares on the market, I thought another gimmick. I was still intrigued so I downloaded a trial of MindManager and my first impression was "that's it"? I continued to play with it and was amazed at how it seamlessly reproduced my cognitive processes re ideas and organizing them. Its simplicity was tied to its seamless. I usually think best with a pen in hand, writing or drawing sketches of what I'm thinking in order to make it clearer or to concetrate myself. Sometimes just scribbling on a pad while thinking... This product is amazing to the kinesthetic and/or visual, global thinker vs. the discret, linear, ABC info prccessing type. I am so enthused about this product... Really... Its worth the money, most especially for students and project managers of any type. I wish I had this when I was organizing my thesis and dissertation, as well as developing a prevention program funded by separate contracts. Also for novelists- writers of any kind. There are so few who can't benefit from it. Oh- and the other 2 competing softwares also have trial offers on their websites. You can check which fits your style best. I found this one to be the most organic and clutter free. The others were just too busy. Esp- SmartDraw I found was more complicated- instead of helping me flexibly use the program, they had templates for every possible conceivable thing. I guess if you just want a form... but I prefer a program that I can adapt to my needs each time I want it. To me, this one is the most userfriendly and versatile, a natural extension of my my mental processes... actually that's exactly it. Its like an extra limb- no thinking about thinking required. ... Lots of Problems
I would not recommend this product. I have had many strange errors - the latest being I can no longer drag and drop to burn a CD - I get an error indicating "End License User Agreement" not agreed to. The Roxio website says this can be fixed by installingEULasp to update to latest service pack - it does not help.

Just Don't Buy This.
This product has singlehandedly destroyed both systems in my home.We have multiple hard drives, and Roxio seemed to think that it could create another partition and change our drive lettering without any warning to us at all.Nothing we can do seems to repair this, and looking for more information on this product issue reveals two things - we are not alone, and there's nothing we can do but restore our systems from backup.Do yourself a favor, skip over Roxio and find something that isn't bent on destruction.

OK, but not the best
All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is not quite as good. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good though.

Getting STRONGER with each release.
With the inclusion of 'multiple projecting and internet viewing' MS has made some mojor advances.Two other needs are "Backward Pass and Multiple Resource Calendars".With these included MS Project will have achieved a "strong contender" status with some of the strongest and most expensive project management systems at a very affordable price structure.

An Improved Communications Aid
Everything the other reviewers have stated about this software is probably true.It is complex, it provides no planning phase shortcuts and you do need to activate it.Personally, I believe authors are entitled to piracy protection - and Microsoft is no exception. Needs Patching
Helps get projects moving, a great piece of software until around the 50th time you run it when it shuts down. I cant find any patches to repair this problem. ... Read more

Good, but integration requires a little more work...
One of the reasons that Project appealed to me was the emphasis on the integration with Microsoft Outlook.However, without running Project Server, the integration effort is a bit klugey, at best. Powerful program, but nasty to learn
I got a trial by fire, or rather, immersion, in this software. I got a copy at work and had to immediately set up a project. Oh, the pain, the pain. A great program but not for the average user.
I have had the privilege of using this product and to be honest, it is truly amazing. With a very concise, easy to use and intuitive interface, MS Project is the number solution for any large company. What Project does is to organise how events in your company is scheduled, example if your releasing a product or scheduling how workers operate in your organisation. About the easy to learn part, compared to other project managament software MS Project hands down is the easiest, with the usual Microsoft Office interface, your on way to learning this product. You might have to go to some lesson classes in Project management first, because this product is not for the ordinary user, it for big businesses that need to have their company on time and in order. The price is a little bit scary, but if you are a company that has to always be prepared I recommend it. If you have just purchased version 2000, please wait two to three years, spending $300 to $600 is not a nice thing to do. This version is even more integrated with web services, so for those companies that have Intranets good opportunity to purchase. Project 95 and 98 users, this is recommended upgrade. For the average user who wants a scheduling program, buy Microsoft Outlook. ... Read more
