I only put one Star because that is the lowest.
I bought the "Premium package with 3 clients".They have the worst customer service I have ever come across. We ran into a problems installing the product, it would not install and it would not uninstall, we call for support to get help and we were told that we had to register the product before they could help us but the only way to register the product was to install it.Lady on the phone told me it was my problem and once I had it registered they could help me.I told the dummy that if I could install it I would not need their help. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told one was not around and that one would call me.Good thing I am not waiting on that call because I still have not gotten it 3 weeks later. They will never get another dollar of my money and I would suggest that you do not give them yours.
Absymal is not the word!!!
This software is the biggest joke I have ever come across quite frankly Despite telling you it is a network application when you try and create a database on a network drive or point it to a network drive it says the database must be stored locally!!!!!???? So you then create a local database and tell it to point to a shared network location. They even give instructions on how to to create the network share! But guess what. This worked for a day then just suddenly died! Best of all despite the application clearly pointing to the same database file on the network drive the contents when viewed from more than one location were not the same!! Quite frankly! I have built Microsoft Exchange 2003 server with full AD in less time and with considerably less effort. Nothing could be worse than this application. It is anti-intuitive and user hostile all around!
A waste of time and money.DON'TBUY
I bought the $1,100.00 Act 2006 premium for workgroups (5 users plus server). Three people in our organization tried it and I made a HUGE effort to work with the product (since I recommended it). All copies have been un-installed, no one liked it nor could work with it. Maybe some people that only work at their desk in an office can use this product but if you are a salesman or a mobile profesional with a Laptop this product is not for you.

Perfect
I have been managing my mailing list for my bi-monthly newsletter using an Excel Spreadsheet exporting to Word to do all the mail merging to lables and envolopes. I desided to give My Mail List a try. I am so pleased with the purchase I am going to upgrade to the Deluxe and try my hand at bulking mailing! I definitly recommend this to folks that want a easy program that manages your data and allows you to merge to letters, lables etc all inside one program. Two thumbs up for sure!
A PGP - pretty good program
I have not seen or used a lot of other Windows-based programs of this nature, but this one is easy to use out-of-the-box for the average user. The only thing that I have come across that is somewhat difficult is the creation and modification of print templates, which is only necessary if you want a different print format than any of the many templates provided. To get a columnar listing of your mailing list data you probably will want to create your own template. The software author should make this process simpler and bug free (template creation and modificationcurrently has a few bugs, which can be worked around if you have the patience). This opinion is also from an IT administrator.I have no idea why an IT person would find this program difficult to use.
Confusing Mail List
For those of you who want to use a "User Friendly" program, I highly recommend that you DO NOT purchase this program.I found it to be very difficult to use and no technical support, unless of course you want to pay for it.This review comes from someone who is an IT Administrator, not just an amateur.

Great Networked Calendar
We have owned this product in Versions 7 and 9 for our law office for several years. If you need for more than one user to access the program simultaneously, as we do in the office, the program networks seamlessly. You could pay a fortune for a multi-user calendar like this from other vendors. If you have more than two users needing access, you can buy a license. I have seen many complaints in these reviews about technical support; I have e-mailed a couple of times and received a thorough response within 24 hours. The interface for the calendar and address book is easy to use. I highly recommend the program because of features, ease of use, and price.
Works well
Have been using this (actually version 9) for a week or so.It seems to do everything you'd want, and is very similar to the paper day-timer I used years ago.
Do not buy if you want support
Anytime Deluxe 9.0 sounds good for the money.Mine quit working on WinXP after 2 days, and tech support did not reply to my complaint for over a week, when I was given the address to their FAQ page.It contained no helpful information. After calling them, the tech support person admitted there was a problem, and had me modify my registry. The software ran for about 2-3 days, and then stopped working again.I have called and written emails and tech support has not responded in over a week.Even at its best, the software is mediocre - so save your money and buy some software that works and that the company will support.

Buggy and Slow

Slow, buggy and frustrating
I've used Act! for about a decade now. I upgraded to Act! 2005 to remain current. The new version is slow, buggy and frustrating. I do not recommend this product. If you are considering using it, carefully check others' experiences before spending the money. I have not used any of the alternatives, but it cannot be hard to beat Act!
After all these years I thought this product would be better
I've been a user of ACT software going back to version 3.0. Being in software sales, over the years most software vendors have adopted more souped-up CRM solutions such as Salesforce.com or Siebel or the like, so I can imagine the interest in this product category has been lacking. STILL, the feature set of this product hasn't changed much in the ten or so years sinced I used the earlier version. In fact, this product has become more bloated and buggy than any commerical software product I have ever used. I've considered listing all the bugs but it would be too long. But I will say this, other than a weird bug that sometimes mis-categorizes contacts into groups I didn't intent them to be a part of, the other bugs tend to be obvious use-ability type things. Bugs that a half asleep QA tester should've found.

Great to have everything in one place
I read another review on this product with a low rating and am wondering if they had a previous version. This product is very easy to use.We got it in the Ultimate Employer bundle. We use it to track our employee information (name, SS#, I9, hm address, ...), benefits, positions/salaries, time worked, vacation time, etc.It is very easy for anyone to jump on the system and find the information they want, or enter additional information. We have been very satisfied.Although the 50 standard reports meet our needs, we have looked at using the export feature to Microsoft Access to create a report for our payroll service.
Dinosaur!
This product is cumbersome - it is like something from the 1980's. I expected something useful and more up to date.

No PDF function - advertising on box is false
This product states in several places on the box that you can save and/or e-mail calendar files in PDF format. This is a false statement. The PDF file functions are only found in the more expensive "Deluxe" version. We called the manufacturer's customer support number and, after a lengthy wait, a support tech confirmed the only the deluxe version could do PDF files. He did not seem surprised to learn that the standard 2005 version box claimed to have that function included. This is blatent false advertising. DO NOT BE MISLED!
The Absolute Worst
I've never spent so much wasted time trying to get a program to do what I want it to.This is the most rediculous, convoluted way to create a simple calendar, using your own photos in your own chosen order, that I've ever seen in my life.Calendar Creator 4 was simple and straight forward, it just didn't add your photos. Finally I've upgraded and luckily I found a rebate that made this p.o.s. software free.If you want to make calendars with THEIR pictures, maybe you'll like this. There's got to be a better way...

Goldmine Sucks
Worst software ever foisted on an unknowing public. Stay away from Goldmine CRM it is a huge waste of money, a horrible, cobbled together monstrosity that will leave you praying for death.
Additional Training Required
The best part of the entire process of trying to use this software was when a Frontrange salesperson accidentally called me after we'd purchased the product (this came after a few weeks of futile attempts to contact customer suport). In response to my complaints, she explained that Goldmine never sells their products to anyone who does not also intend to particpate in one of their training programs (at a signficant additional charge).Nowhere does any promotion of this software suggest that its use requires a training course.
Limited Application and Goldsync Problems
I used this product for years but always had problems with the synchronization option called Goldsync. Remote data never 100% matched the headquarters data. The straw that broke the camels back was when we lost our largest customer record through syncronization. It had a large amount of valuable notes. At that point we switched to the most popular online contact manager known as SFDC.

Buyer Beware
I bought this software locally, and tried to install it yesterday. Instructions say to shut down any background programs when installing in Windows ME, which I did.Not only did the software not install--although there were noises and blinking lights--the process somehow made my CD and DVD drives "undetectable" by my computer, just as if they didn't exist.Upon going to the support URL listed on the package, I found out the product is no longer supported, so if there's a problem you're on your own.I got my drives back through system restore and Windows Update.
Great version of a great product
Glad to be back in the calendar business again!!! This is one of the best calendar packages out there, and I highly recommend it.I started using calendar creator with DOS way back and loved it. The first windows versions were decent, then with version 5 the software became so buggy it wasn't worth it. It seems with verion 8 though, they have managed to overcome most of their problems. I'm running it on windows 98 and having good luck. It is a little complicated for someone unaccustomed to the software, but once you figure it out, all the features really add to the flexability. I'm hoping the newer versions add a few more features, but this one works well and I'm pleased!
A terrible, horrible, no good, very bad piece of software.
I bought this product to make family calendars and have found it useless. My biggest beef? You can't have more than one event on a date -- it appears on as "overflow" that you must print as an additional sheet! How many families do you know with no overlapping birthdays or anniversaries?

Disappointed Long Time Customer
I have used ACT since the first version in the 80's. I tried all the others thoroughly and had settled on Act for the last 5 years and was HAPPY. I decided to upgrade from 6.0 after assurances from the salesman online that my Act for Palm OS would work in the new version. It does not. I have been trying to figure out what the advantages are for ACT 2005. So far NONE. The ACT for Palm Link is terrible. You can't even read past a few letters of the record to know what you are looking at. They need to get their "act" together FAST.
ACT 2005 Disaster
Being a user of ACT since 1990, I thought I would continue to upgrade as I have in the past. What a mistake. 6.0 (was no IS) a good product.2005 has a long way to go.
Don't see the value
I just installed ACT! 2005 after using previous versions of ACT for 10 years.I was very disappointed. My custom layouts were not imported, system ran slow (hard drive ran for a very long time) and there just did not seem to be anything new or innovative.I don't think this version is a step up or sideways, but in fact a step down.
