Not exactly what I thought it would be
Calander wasn't easy to use.

Calendars yes, easy no
This program offers calendar making with a multitude of options, maybe too many options.I have owned several versions of this program and each upgrade allow more and more customization of calendars.The problem comes trying to remember all the things you can do.What saves the program is the basic templates for calendars are very good and answer most needs.What I especially enjoyed was being able to add re-occurring events like birthdays and anniversaries so as to be reminded of them with icons to individualize events.Great little program for the price, just make sure you have the minimum system requirements before installing. ... It works but...
Getting all my contacts into it from Outlook was difficult.Took a few tries using different file type imports.Had to manually enter a few names and addresses.Interface not what Windows users expect.But, so far it does what I want even if the settings are not where I'd expect them. ... Read more

Perfect Calendar to Manage Our Household
I have used verious versions of the program for well over a decade and Version 8 for several years. It is a great way to manage our family calendar. With a color printer it has gone from "perfect" to "spectacular". We don't begin to use its graphic features so I have no idea how it works for a "fancy wall hanging commercial type calendar." But to manage a VERY busy household of two parents, several kids, lot of activities, lots of practices, lots of competitions, lots of kids work schedules, lots and lots of conflicts - well it could not be better.

If you want to use the templates provided, this works ok.Customizing is a nightmare.Getting it to print correctly is almost impossible and the help is useless.I'm going to try something else.

They Coulda Done Better
I've used most versions of Calendar Creator since version 1. I recently upgraded to Calendar Creator 8 from version 4 because version 4 won't run under Windows XP. I found that version 8 wouldn't import my version 4 data. I find version 8 much harder and less intuitive to use than the older versions. The box says it'll export data for use in a webpage. Wrong. Ask their Support Staff Questions First
I asked sales at ACT if their software would be able transfer files from Maximizer to Act and they said Yes.But, in reality, ACT doesn't have a way to transfer "Notes" on each record into the ACT program.Next...

Disappointing - wait until another version is released
I am terribly disappointed in this software.Because it has been sold back and forth among several companies over the last few years, product development has lagged badly.Right now, the product isn't worth using.As one of their support technicians acknowledged to me on the phone, ACT's integration of email with other contact management functionality is practically nonexistent, leaving the program several years behind the realities of relationship management in the 21st century.ACT is so bad in its current state that I uninstalled it and am writing off the cost of the software.Perhaps if I do not find a better solution in the meantime, I may look into the next version whenever it is released.But for right now, NOT RECOMMENDED.

e-mail interface lacking
I've been using ACT for several years now and love it except for the e-mail interface to Outlook. It's clunky, slow, and does not support HTML so I keep finding myself reverting back to Outlook to send e-mail.This means that I'm not keeping track of e-mail through ACT which is a real problem.Even when I do go to the effort to send e-mail through ACT it doesn't keep a pop-up file like it does for letters.Too bad, this is really a great tool.I just wish it was even better. ... Waste of Time and Effort
All of the negative reviews are true.Every last one.
Limited but has some use.
This is not a sophisticated program. However it's cheap. I use it and like it because it is an improvement over QuickBooks customer management functionality. If you are aware of its limitations you won't be disappointed.

Works for us.
I run a multi million dollar home building business and Quickbooks Customer Manager works great for us.We are able keep all our customers' info in one place.We also use it for our service operations and scheduling appointments.It keeps a great history of what we have done at each customers home.This is a relatively new program and I think it will get better with time as they provide new versions.It is a little simplistic and could use some fine tuning, but all in all we use it with success. ... Act 2006 upgrade is an abomination.I believe ACT 2006 will do for SAGE what Dbase IV did for Dbase.I wrote extensively in the ACT 2006 product review before seeing there was a section for the upgrade.I'm just placing this review here to direct you to the reviews for Act 2006.

ZERO STARS - Soooo slow and crash-prone.DON"T BUY!!!
I started using ACT! back with ACT! 2000 (version 5) for our 5 member workgroup. That version was fraught with problems. Just getting it to run required monumental effort, with various Windows tweaks and Registry settings having to be modified. Once all that was accomplished the software ran, not well, but sufficiently well to serve our needs. It doesn't integrate well with Outlook or Word, which causes it to crash now and then, but mostly it works.
