An invaluable piece of software.
Of all the software I have, Spell Catcher is probably the one I use most often. Sure my word processor has a built-in spell checker but it's not as handy and powerful as Spell Catcher. And, Spell Catcher isn't limited to checking my typing in word processors and e-mail, it can spell check typing in any software I use -- including forms. Furthermore, Spell Catcher will automatically correct many common spelling errors without even bothering to notify you about them. For example, if you type "recieve," Spell Catcher will automatically change it to receive. If there are any words which you commonly misspell, you can easily add them to the list of automatic corrections. My favoritefeature of Spell Catcher is that you can create your own personal shorthand for words you commonly use. For example, if I type "drs" Spell Catcher automatically changes it to David R. Schryer. Currently, I have hundreds of words in my shorthand gossary. Believe me this significantly speeds up typing. Since you can create your own shorthand abbreviations, they're easy to remember. All in all, Spell Catcher is a terrific piece of software.

Great Time-Saver!
I've used Spell Catcher for at least five years. Using "keyboard shorthand" has saved untold hours of typing. For example: typing "peiol" (which SC initially cannot recognize as a word), gave me the opportunity to use this as shorthand, so that now, when I type "peiol," SC automatically changes this to "phacoemulsification, cataract, with intraocular lens implant." Any question which is easier?

Disappointing
The program wouldn't install properly. Repeated calls to tech support werefrustrating and I was shuffled between sales and tech support. A good oldfashioned paper dictionary in someone else's house across town would bemore convenient. ... Read more

Disappointing!
The product conflicted with other software I had installed on my computer andtheir tech support basically told me I was outta luck.They offer an "upgrade&quot... they don't offer the download version in their upgrade (their customer service told me I was outta luck).The Career counselor is not all it cracks up to be...very hokey and somewhat cheesy.Inputting into the program (once I get it running and "debugged") is fairly easy but the formats aren't very attractive.I was able to import it into my Word Processor (MSW) but it lost all formatting when I imported it.This was a very disappointing piece of software.

Better Than Nothing
As a fan of other products with the Kaplan name, I grabbed Resume Maker off the shelf the moment that I found it.My mistake!The software is on the cutting edge of very early Windows programs.It is anti-intuitive,very slow, and completely unforgiving of any error.Rather than thesoftware working for you, you will work for the software.As one exampleof too many, a card (a basic sub-element of the resume) will not print fromone page to the next; you just have a large blank spot at the top of thesecond page.However, with a great deal of formatting and editing, you canwork around this problem.My question:what fool thinks that the consumerbuys such a product for the thrill of spending hours outsmarting thesoftware?I do not recall the last time that I was this disappointed withany software.The only two good points that I can offer are:[1] ResumeMarker is better than nothing and [2] my mistake in buying this productcost me less than $30.00.(By the way, if you have this product, importwhatever resume that you have into Microsoft Word, clean it up, and get onwith the job search.) ... I completely recommend Winway Resume Deluxe because it has helpful hints and quotes for pretty much any position you're applying for. It is very simple and self-explainatory on how to use it. It also aids in creating thank you letters, cover letters, envelopes and helps to prepare you for interviews.

Very helpful
This software helped me get a job much easier than I thought it would be. The best feature is that you can automatically send your resume to lots of employers, and - surprisingly - they get back to you, as this doesn't go through the "spam channels" that annoy them. I have since allowed several of my friends to use it and they all got new jobs very easily. I give it a big PLUS!

WASTE OF MONEY
From the annoying "merlin" character who "guides" you, to the cluttered layout this is a miserable piece of software.It appears to have been thrown together at the last minute.There is no polish whatsoever.

This was a good, solid program that worked well to synchronize my word documents. I purchased this program rather the word smith pro as I felt this was more updated to work with windows XP. I think there may be little difference after all. I would recommend this to be used in conjunction with a keyboard accessory. replaced RedHat with SUSE - not looking back!
I had been using RedHat 6.0 up through 7.3 on my laptop (first a ThinkPad 770X, then a Sony VAIO).However, the RH distribution just isn't well suited for a laptop install -- incomplete support of Sony-specific features such as the "jogdial" and FN-keys. Think TWICE Before you purchase SuSE Office Desktop!!
Having researched Linux products for over a year, we decided to give SuSE Office Desktop a spin recently when one of MS's Windows "security updates" completely hosed our PC. Note that the Microsoft automated CRITICAL security download stated that all went fine and rebooted our PC into HELL ! Lost dial-up, scrambled app software, and a bunch of other crap... typical everyday experience with Windoze !!!Read more
