5-0 out of 5 stars Lots to learn and do.A favorite of mine.
I have all the Nancy Drew titles and I really liked this game, Secret of the Scarlet Hand. There are puzzles and trivia.I think this game was a lot of fun. There was a bit to read but learning about something while playing a game is great for my over stressed mind.(I have a toddler, enough said?)I thought the graphics were good and the characters were interesting.I picked up the jewel case for about $9 can't beat the quality entertainment you get for that.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's good for what it is
I really like the Nancy Drew books and games, I think this one was a little too hard though. It was difficult to complete the tasks you are given for the internship. I also didn't see the point in them, it was difficult work that didn't apply to the mystery. There was just too many tasks for a simple mystery.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting characters; etc.
It's worth the purchase.

3-0 out of 5 stars Great for babies, a bit too simple for toddlers
I bought the keyboard and a few of the games for my son when he was 2. He couldn't use the mouse yet but was always interested in the computer so this allowed him to play. He really loved pushing the buttons and watching the characters and other things appear on the screen. A few months later though he learned how to use a mouse and there was no going back. The games that you can buy for kids who can use a mouse are way more interactive and fun than this (and much cheaper). The keyboard is great for a baby or very young toddler, but too simple for older toddlers or pre-schoolers.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great !!!
Great creative gift for a grandchild that will offer many hours of learning as well as feeling of accomplishment!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Description incorrect - no Elmo, but a good product anyway
We received the comfy keyboard as a gift for my 20 month old son for Christmas. The description and product reviews here on amazon talk about an Elmo phone and that is incorrect. The Elmo phone is a separate product and I don't know why they have combined the two here.I have contacted amazon about this, but no changes have been made.I would contact them directly if you are interested in purchasing this item to be sure you are getting the right thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
I was afraid this was a limited version software for the price- but it wasn't. It was better than I expected, and my first grader loves it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Kept my 6 yr old entertained
My six year old spent several hours playing this the first couple of weeks.I'd like to add that the game is fairly complex and he needed help. The thing I liked was he was learning while having fun!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but difficult to use
I bought this for my 6 yr. old grandson who just completed kindergarten. However, his favorite activity in kindergarten was computer lab so I decided to give him the opportunity to use a computer at home. I purchased Reader Rabbit 1st Grade. My opinion about the program is mixed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Preschool Computer Lab Teacher = Thumbs Up!
I have taught preschool computer lab for two years and have successfully used this software with my 1, 2 & 3 year old students during both school years.I love this software because no mouse clicks are required - only moving the mouse which greatly increases my students hand-eye coordination with the mouse.
5-0 out of 5 stars Easy for kids to do and FUN
Reader Rabbit Toddler is the best software I have bought so far - its easy for my son to use (if kids cannot use the mouse yet most games work just by hitting keys) and has alot of fun activities. From the main menu you move a "Star flower" to one of nine fun activities - includingan alphabet train where you match the letter key to the boxcar to see it open;a musical meadow where you move a bee from flower to flower to hear them play;a bubble castle where you pop bubbles to free the animals - it has a variety of fun activities that my son has loved from 18 months to 3+.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great fun but a bit buggy
This program is a lot of fun and has a variety of activities to delight little ones.Because the activities can all be done just by moving the mouse or trackball (without pressing buttons), even a very beginning mouser can manage it.Pressing (or pounding on) keys also causes things to happen on the screen, so even without using the mouse your child can have a great time if you are brave enough to let him or her pound on your keyboard (not necessarily recommended - my daughter made off with my Z last week!)Many of the toddler activities are simple enough to do that a younger child can enjoy them too (but they still have learning potential for the toddler). My only complaint is that the program seems a bit buggy. It periodically locks up my computer so I have to reboot, which is very frustrating for my daughter.Overall it's a lot of fun.Read more

Reviews (23)

3-0 out of 5 stars let's ride Dreamer is OK
let's ride Dreamer is ok because for one you can't canter, for two you can create a jump course but you can't create a dressage course. You can groom your horse, but, you can only have 8 horses and you only have a few colors to choose from for your horses coat, mane, and tail. It takes a while to load the game, to load things while playing, and to close the game. Oh ya, if you just started playing I recommend the jump course Shrewbury.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
If, like me, you are interested in this game because you think it might be like the movie, then you, like me, will be very disappointed.Yes, it says Dreamer in the title, but aside from character names, that is all this game has in common with the movie.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good if you have a really new computer
This game didn't work very well on my computer. The graphics were mostly white or other colors, and the computer gave me extra used time and refusals on the show jumping.I wrote ValuSoft, and they said the Mobel Intel didn't support the needed functions for the game.Make sure you go over everything on the minimum requirements very carefully before you buy it.If you don't have any problems (or just get used to them), the game's pretty good. You play Amy, who wants to take care of her friend's horse (her friend just moved away), but her parents can't afford it.Her dad lets her keep the horse at a stable for a little while, and Amy helps around the stable to help cover the cost.I got up to the show jumping finale.I can't finish it because it almost always starts out telling me I already used about 20 seconds. The free riding and dressage is fun, though. You can win prizes like new saddles and ribbons for the horse. You also get to find things in the forest (there's a summer trail and a winter trail), including a cat and a bunch of carrots. If you want to buy this game, don't buy it for more than $10. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Autistic Kid Loves It
My 7-year old autistic daughter loves this game and will play with it for hours.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Catin the Hat is Alive!
I recommend this interactive book to anyone with small children. My 4 year old loves the read and play portion of the program. My 2 year old, who doesn't sit still long enough to catch her breath turns on the computer andinsists on Cat in the Hat. As she is not quite old enough to handle themouse on her own, I click the read segment for her. She sits through theentire book laughing at the Cat's silly antics, repeating words, andhumming along with the music. It is the best of both worlds, a classicchildren's story come alive.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves It
My 3 1/2 year old son is already a huge fan of Dr. Seuss.I bought the software because he loved the book so much and he was delighted.A child can choose to have the computer read the book to them or they can choose toplay along. When they play along, it stops on certain screens and allowsthe child to click and interact with the characters and text. For examplethey can help the Cat in the Hat clean up his mess by clicking on thescattered items on the floor. My son is constantly saying "Mommywatch this...".I couldn't pull him away from this game when we firstbrought it home.He still pulls this game out quite often. The best partis that he still loves all the Dr. Seuss books. The software won't takeaway from the traditional form of Dr. Seuss. ... Read more

i wrote a review for the other finding nemo game and i gave it 1 star! i dont know what i was thinking to buy this game because the last one was boring and way too easy. this one is no diffrent. it still sucks times 10. but i have to say the graphics are great!A+. BUT the game is still bad and as always i knew my brother would like it! he didnt and his 5. he said "this game is way too easy and boring. i dont want it."then he pretented to throw up. my mom didnt like it either. my friends thought they were too old for it because were 10 and my dad said why we bought this junk. so right now its sitting on the shelf dusty. we now have 20 dollars down the drain. stupid nemo and this company, they cant even invent a game that us 10-13 year olds can play.

1-0 out of 5 stars i got this game and.................
this game sucks. its way to easy and the graphics suck too. i love the movie but the game is terrible! im 10 so i realy should know better. i couldnt return at all. my mom was pleased with the game but i wasnt! so i gave it to my brother who is 5. my mom got me madagscar instead. i love it. atleast someone is enjoying my game. kids over 4 would use the disk for frisbee so think befor you buy!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars great for little peoplewho love Nemo & fish
I saw the 3 star review and almost didn't purchase it.The negative reviews didn't help. But keep an open mind.My 3 year old grandson loves all the games. He is a little young but is learning as he goes. The film clips add a little extra to break up the games. What can I say, it's like a Pooh or Blues Clues CD., it's games, it keeps the little ones interest, while they are learning. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME EVER

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Game
I am over the age to be playing this as it says on the box, but I still find it very interesting and play it when I'm bored and just feel like playing something. The fact that I beat the game before has kind of taken out the fun of not knowing what will happen next, but when I first bought it the game was challanging and exciting. I recomend it.

2-0 out of 5 stars basically a dollshouse
The game lives up to its name, its a dollshouse. You pick the furniture and put it where you like almost as a number of things refuse to allow you to place them where you want even when there is plenty of room. You cannot place an object or person behind another item unless you put the back item in first.5-0 out of 5 stars A very Good Game
My 5 year old enjoys this very much. She got it last year from Santa, so she was able to navigate it at age 4. This is her favorite of the Princess Games. However, she gets very frustrated with the Fairy Godmother telling her "No Room There", because while you can drag and drop the furniture, you cannot overlap it. When the room is full, nothing else will go in. 5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Kids Games We Own!
We bought this game two months ago, along with two other kids games, and this one is by far our favorite kids game! When I say we, I mean my 7 year old who bought it with birthday money, her two sisters who are old enough to play computer games, me, my friend who lives with us (age 21), even my husband has sat down and messed around with it. It is just addictive, and fun. Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Very educational for the kids
This program can be used with very little, if any, adult intervention. Graphics are large, clear and attractive, and the goal-oriented storyline is easy to follow and compelling. My kids were impressed by the many animal characters included in the program, and were often observed giggling at and speaking to them. Activities are easily understood and complete, but become a bit tedious, and their repetitive nature may annoy the less patient player. Featuring a "summer camp" theme, Reader Rabbit's Kindergarten is an entertaining, fully animated adventure in which the user must help friends Reader Rabbit and Mat the Mouse gather supplies for the campfire party at 'Camp Happy Tails'. As with the younger age titles in this series, to achieve this goal, the child must master 4 sequential levels of each of 4 skill-building activities.

4-0 out of 5 stars My toddler loves it
My son loves this set. It's very, very clickable, with lots of things to amuse him, and it's easy for him to master. He can play it on his own, even though he's just 3.My only problem is on the Art Workshop CD, there's a bug in the Free Drawing area where sometimes the whole screen comes up black and you only get the paints and stamps if you click all over the screen at random. My son usually has to call me to help him do this. But once it's up, it's up,and it works beautifully.

5-0 out of 5 stars Elmo always entertains
My 3-year-old son would spend hours at his computer playing with this software if we allowed it. He creates whole stories with the various elements this software brings together. He loves to dress up the characters and put them in cinematic situations. He eagerly points out all the details to his setups once he's finished an image. It's an absorbing, imagination-stretching bit of technology that we're glad to have in our house.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good Game, not malware
Another respondent has suggested that "Thomas the Tank Engine: Trouble On The Tracks" destroyed his computer.I seriously doubt this.It sounds like he unknowingly bought a pirated version that had a virus on it; or, more likely, this was just a coincidence of the person installing the Thomas CD, just when a virus was set to detonate.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good for building logic skills
I tutor children for a living and I have found this software to be very good for building logic skills in children. It is stimulating to them and doesn't lose them by becoming difficult too quickly. This game is much better than it's math and reading counterparts.Although they are useful, they span too many levels at one time.I would say Thinking Adventures can be used as early as 3 years and still can remain challenging until 5 or 6 years of age.You can leave a child alone with this software for 2-10 minutes at a time (I would not recommend children playing on a computer for longer than this as they need physical stimulation), whereas most educational software for this age requires constant instruction from an adult.

5-0 out of 5 stars Math Adventures is Great!
I bought RR Math Adventures three years ago, and my son who is now almost 8 has used it off and on ever since. When he was younger I sat with him and explained some of the easier concepts, and little by little, he has finished the disk.I'm especially impressed by his understanding of fractions - which they haven't had in school yet, and currency - since we don't even live in the U.S. and he's never even seen U.S. money. Not to mention that English is a second language for him.I think that speaks very well of the teaching methods of this program. I've also run it on Win98 and XP with no problems. We've enjoyed this disk very much.

1-0 out of 5 stars Says XP compatible - but not
We got this game since our boy will be going to Kindergarten this fall. The description said it was XP compatible - but it won't even load.
