No technical support and no upgrades
This game was bought for my son 1-2 years ago when he was a toddler.Now that he's four we started using it.There is an error in the piano game that basically teaches your child how to spell words incorrectly putting in lots of incorrect letters at random. The piano game features prominently in many of the exercises, so you basically have to do a work around throughout the entire process.
Great kids program!
My 5-year old had some initial problems learning this, as some of the stuff is rather unintuitive. You have to pick up letters, identify words, do some drag-and-dropping (which is not always easy for small hands handling a computer mouse) but once the steep learning curve is over, it's a wealth for any kid learning to read and write! Highly recommended!

Reader Rabbit Playtime for Baby and Toddler
This program is one of the best I have seen. I did like Jumpstart baby, but this is a great addition to my collection. Seems to function best in the Toddler mode for my 19month old! I give it 5 stars.

Great for Preschool Special Ed. classrooms
My kids just love this computer game! It is very easy to use; the kids just move the mouse around. They don't have to click the mouse. It is cute enough for adults to enjoy playing with the children. I have a very intelligent autistic boy who forgets to scream and have tantrums while he is playing this game. It even helps with socialization. I often see more than one child watching the screen and pointing to items while another child uses the mouse.

my kid who HATES math LOVES this game
This is the BEST educational software I have purchased. I have to PRY my kid away from it. She has learned SO MUCH without even knowing that she was learning math. They disguise learning very well. You won't be disappointed. This is a keeper!

I frist played this game in school and i had so much fun so i asked my mom for it and thats what i got. my favorit part was buying the arcade that is so cool. also the hardest one was when you'r at the peir the guy with lopster is the one. i recomend this game to any one. even aldults!

I bought this for my 8-year-old to spend more time practicing math. My son likes math and he likes playing this software. He asks to play it rather than needing to be prodded, as he was with the Math & Science Excelerator I bought for the same purpose. Even the neighborhood kids come to play it with him. Jumpstart Advanced 4th Grade Problem
Normally this is a great product. I have purchased K-3 without any problems but this year there is a problem that requires a patch. Calling their helpdesk is somewhat useless since they promise to send you a link but never do. Here is the link I found on my own: [...]. The problem that I experienced was a white screen then if you click a key there is an introduction that has a lady speaking about the cave's history. Then it freezes. This link should solve you problem. Just download and run.
First CD of this set is defective
I love Jumpstart in general and bought this hot off the shelf.The fundamentals CD was defective, so Amazon replaced it.The fundamentals CD from the second set had the same defects.My guess is the first batch is messed up and Jumpstart will rectify the problem once enough returns are made. ... Great math game!
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, whose weakest subject is math.She LOVES this game and will literally play it for hours.It consists of all kinds of different math games that you can play at three different levels of difficulty.I am just VERY pleased with this game.Suddenly math is FUN for my daughter!

Really Educational and Really Fun
My six-year-old daughter, who just started first grade, was completely engaged playing this game. It has a nice layout to explore, lots of activities, and it adapts to a range of skill levels.It was challenging enough to be interesting but not too hard to "win" and save the day for the city.I would give it five stars if only the arcade games were playable -- they were much too hard for my daughter.But she didn't seem to mind, since she really enjoyed everything else.

It's Just "Okay"
There are not many good options in software for children, so that this at least rates as okay is something. It is educational for sure and definitely teaches math and grouping of sets for faster counting, money values, etc. But it could be more appealing for a 5-year old boy.

GREAT!
We bought this for our 3 year old, and she was able the pick up on it very quickly!It has helped prepare her for preschool tremendously!We are going to get her the Kindergarten one for Christmas this year.

This is a total waste
For Christmas, I purchased this item for my two and half year old son, who is fairly advanced for his age. The program is reccomended for 2-4.I was totally disappointed in this product.Before you begin to use the product, the child is given an assessment test, which was fairly good.However, it gave you the illusion that the program would be like that, when it is not.Your child is scored and based on the score, the questions are supposed to be geared toward the skills that the child does not know or needs improvement on.First of all the programs were difficult to understand for most adults (my husband and I are both college educated).Both my husband and myself sat down with my son and could not figure out the concept of the games.My son was easily bored with the product and seemed disinterested.He seemed to prefer some of his other computer software, (School Zone(preschool) and Disney for Toddlers.I would tell anyone to invest their money in another software. ... I was afraid this was a limited version software for the price- but it wasn't. It was better than I expected, and my first grader loves it.

Kept my 6 yr old entertained
My six year old spent several hours playing this the first couple of weeks.I'd like to add that the game is fairly complex and he needed help. The thing I liked was he was learning while having fun!

Good but difficult to use
I bought this for my 6 yr. old grandson who just completed kindergarten. However, his favorite activity in kindergarten was computer lab so I decided to give him the opportunity to use a computer at home. I purchased Reader Rabbit 1st Grade. My opinion about the program is mixed.

Very educational for the kids
This program can be used with very little, if any, adult intervention. Graphics are large, clear and attractive, and the goal-oriented storyline is easy to follow and compelling. My kids were impressed by the many animal characters included in the program, and were often observed giggling at and speaking to them. Activities are easily understood and complete, but become a bit tedious, and their repetitive nature may annoy the less patient player. Featuring a "summer camp" theme, Reader Rabbit's Kindergarten is an entertaining, fully animated adventure in which the user must help friends Reader Rabbit and Mat the Mouse gather supplies for the campfire party at 'Camp Happy Tails'. Jump Start 2nd Grade
My 7 year old loves this game - all 3 cds are great.He especially loves the mystery aspect of the game - it reminds me of the Carmen Sandiego mysteries I played as a kid.It also is a bit challenging - it includes the stuff that will be in his 2nd grade class.
