We have been fans of the I Spy Books & Software for some time, but this is our new favourite. The graphics are great & the levels within each "story" keep my 6 year old twin boys busy when Mummy needs a break. The I Spy Team should keep up the good work - this is a computer game that won't turn kids brains to mush!

5-0 out of 5 stars i spy fantasy
i bought this cd rom for my son who thinks this game is fantastic, very easy for young children to use.

5-0 out of 5 stars Neat!
My six year old daughter was reluctant to try this, but she did and she LOVES it! Great graphics, fun, challanging. Not sure how "educational" it is, but it is a neat, non-violent, gets-you-thinking game! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! Stupendous! Awesome!
OMG! This game is like, the best! The graphics were great, and the personalities of the people were great too! Almost everyone seemed like a suspect, and more than one person was the culprit. Being herinteractive's second game, this is great!
5-0 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew and the Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake
I thought that this game was totally awesome! I really enjoyed it! I played it in 4 days, and it usually takes me much longer! It wasn't too hard, but hard enough. It's not as scary as some of the Nancy Drew games. There are four charactors: Sally McDonald (the lady who asked you to come there), Red Knott (a birdwatcher), Emily Griffen (a lady who owns a store), and Jeff Akers (the closest thing to a police officer that the town has). You never meet Sally, but you meet the other three. Oh, yes. I forgot you meet the ghost dogs...

2-0 out of 5 stars BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really didn't like this game at ALL! The mystery about somone dead was good and all, and I know it's Herinteractive's first game, but come on! Cartoon characters?! Plus, it was easy and short, and not hard at all. If I were you, I would NOT buy this at all, NAH-AH! I hope this review helped! =) ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Game
Guess what? Just last week, I was exploring this old ghost town and was suddenly knocked out by a bank robber! (I think) Then, as if that wasn't enough adventure, I woke up in the ghost town's jail! Using my lariat, some old bricks, and a chair, and an old key, I managed to get myself out of there. The next day, I explored some ancient Indian cliff dwellings, found treasure, and turned in a criminal. And I won't even tell you about my first day...
5-0 out of 5 stars ???
A lot of people are saying the toolbox and screen are annoying. I wonder why because I always wanted a bigger game screen since TRT (that was my first game) since the old toolbox/converstion box take up almost half the screen. Plus the old toolbox always had problem. If I scroll down I have to scroll down 3 times usually for the scroll bar to stay in the same place. The game is meant for people ages 10+ if you are older than 5 you should be able to understand how to work the tool box. You point, you click, you get whatever you want, you X out. Oh, so hard. Not.
5-0 out of 5 stars Secret of Shadow Ranch-Wow.
In The Secret of Shadow Ranch, you are invited to Arizona to stay on Bess and George's aunt and uncle's ranch. Unfortunatley, Bess and George seem to have a (ahem) "little" delay getting there with you, so for now, you're on your own. Spanning over a 3-day period, Shadow Ranch is definatley one of the best Nancy Drew games. The "new" big-screen, a cellphone in it's own compartment (with internet and email, though you can't send email!), and (my favorite), a notebook where Nancy keeps a journal (for all) and a checklist (only for Junior Detectives). And, as always, the toolbar, which takes up less space but holds more items. (A LOT more.) Begin your visit with a mystery. Where are the Rawleys? It turns out, at the hospital (!). Seems Ed Rawley had a little accident. He'll be OK though- but the Rawleys are staying at the hospital. And- what's this about a- PHANTOM HORSE??? Seems there's a lost treasure in the area- is it truth, or just a legend???

5-0 out of 5 stars Great family game
This is the first game I was able to play with little help from a walkthrough. My family has two computers: I played this game on mine and my 8yo and 12yo played it on theirs. It was fun to be able to help each other when needed.
3-0 out of 5 stars Disapointment
I have to say I thought this game was going to be really good but it wasn't. It was OK. I think it's very hard. Partly entertaining. But Her Interactive wasn't exactlly in it's finest hour with this game.
3-0 out of 5 stars The curse of blackmoor manor
OK I looked at other's people's review and a lot gave it 5 stars. I have to say I disagree. 3 is as good as itgets. I guess thoswe 5 star people like really hard stuff and dont mind that it is extremely difficult and alchamy and hard. Mostly i dont like the secret passage. you know i spent a LONG time trying to find this stone thingy that you pick up and then trying to get back. well u dont use it for anything u dont need it. so i havethis thingy. i solved the mystery then i played again and didnt find the stone thingy. no i dont mean the glowinggo onei think its a map type thing. but i love the nancy drew series. there really good. but i reccomend buyning an easier one and better one first if this is ur first game. then try this one later once u get good at nancy drew. hey i like this game its just way down my list of nd games. it my 3rd least favorite after the first two. but i like it im just saying that its not the best one and her interactive just didnt do as well on this one. but if u like really hard puzzles then here you go. just my opinion. the other ones are better exept ofr the first two. enjoy! either this one or another depending on what you like.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trick your kids into learning
This game was purchased for a young girl aged 4 years 8 mo.She had very little computer experience, and a little phonic work in Pre-K.This game was right up her alley. Some of the tasks were easy, giving her a sense of mastery, but the difficulty level increases nice and slow and she didn't even realize. They mix in fun non-learning activities as a reward (decorating the float). As a result, her reading skills have significantly improved in the past month and so have her computer mousing skills.Haven't found a good typing game for a 4 year old yet, that's next.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Game
This game is awesome and teaches kids phonics, letter recognition, matching, numbers, and they don't even know they are learning becuase they are having fun. They complete tasks and get fun prizes that boost self confidence. It helps kids navigate on the computer and gets them comfortable with a mouse.

5-0 out of 5 stars My daughter loves this software game!
My daughter just turned 3 years old in October and she loves this game. It's very educational and fun at the same time. She was able to navigate through the carnival games right from the start so it's very user friendly. While she's known all her capital letters and the sounds each letter makes for some time now, she's learning to recognize the lower case letters and to spell 3 and 4 letter words from using this game. She's only had it for a few days but I can already see she's learning a lot from playing with it.I highly recommend this one for it's educational value. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing.
The description led us to believe that the game was much more interactive than it actually was. Our almost 6 year old was bored with it the first time she played it. The game reads the words on the screen and has limited opportunities to click on the screen for other words to appear. There were no options for reading each section and then having confirmation, practicing how to spell, etc. Overall, a waste of our money.

4-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and fun!
Our two year old really likes this and kept asking to "watch ABC's on the computer."It includes a reading of the book, which is more involved than the video (which we also like) as well as an interactive part that our little one does not use yet.It is a nice complement to the book and I expect we will get quite a bit of use out of the interactive part in a year or so.Even though it is an old program it works fine with XP for us.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great rhyme's and hilarious illustrations!
I say only Dr. Seuss and Living Books could make the alphabet so unpredictably entertaining. I do like the fact that it contains more than 400 alphabetically inspired surprises hidden within 26 pages that shows children learning words and letters which can be fun and silly at the same time!

5-0 out of 5 stars Rapunzel
This is such a great game both my 3 year old son and 7 year old daughter love it. I like to play to if they would let me! So much fun decorating the rooms and so many choices to keep you playing Great game. Not at all what you would think a Barbie game would be. Great fun for all!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Thanks Barbie!!
I purchased this for my daughter that had just turned 5 and with a little help from me in the maze area she was able to finish the game rather quickly (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but to my surprise she still wants to play it over and over again redecorating the castle differently each time room, by room. She has figured out the maze area on her own now as well, at first naviagating Barbie is a little difficult, but all in all as a rainy day game she loves it!Sometimes I have to set the timer to get her off the computer. Not a lot in the way of learning, but that is what her "Reader Rabbit" CD-Rom's are for anyway - this one is for fun! Additionally I didnot have any technical problems setting up this CD for my daughter, and I have had with many others including her Reader Rabbit, and Disneys.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love playing it - even without my five year old daughter
When my daughter wanted this I was against it. We have Barbie Swan Lake software and it does very little and I was not impressed. After seeing it many times on her "wish list" I warned her that it would most likely be boring. Boy was I wrong! We have spent many rainy day hours decorating rooms and having such fun. You can do so much and make it so different each time. We decide on colors and themes of rooms and go to town. I gave her a big hug and kiss for being so persistant about getting this software. I highly recommend it! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works on XP some hints!
Well I was afraid when I installed it, because like other reviewers it stops when you press some objects in the game. Found the solution right click on the icon for the game. Choose properties then choose to run it on windows 2000! It works no problem. Its a fun story and you can make fun sand castles in the game. Its great for little kids my son is 3 and other games are to hard for him even blues goes to school. This is a nice game for children under 3, older than that they will play it once and then leave it on the shelf.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great for foreign language learning
We just received our copy of Just Grandma and Me software by Mercer Mayer and The Learning Company. This and several other CD-ROM titles by Mercer Mayer can be played in several languages including German, perfect for our bilingual family! My two-year-old listened to it about 4 times in his first session. The story is straightforward and leaves nice pauses between sentences so mom or dad can repeat or explain if necessary. These titles would be great for elementary school age kids as well.
5-0 out of 5 stars A brilliant story for kids everywhere

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for 3 to 5 year olds
Easy to use, educational and fun game for 3 to 5 year olds.My son, 7, is too mature for this game now, but he used to play it a lot and learned patterns, letter sounds, rhymes and counting. My daughter, 4, is very much into it and is learning the same things too.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is my 3 yr old daughter's favorite CD game
This is a really neat CD for kids. It is challenging, yet the game is very easy to navigate for kids. I can sit my daughter down, let her play, and not have to worry about her getting stuck because she cannot navigate. This is not some cheap game that is similar to the freebies online either. There are plenty of activities that really challenge my daughter. Plus, the activities get progressively harder. I have Blue's Clues, Stanley, Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Dinosaurs, and a few other games for her, but she likes this one best - even after some of the "newness" has worn off.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Educational & Fun for 4-5 Yr Olds for Maths & Reading

5-0 out of 5 stars Lots to learn and do.A favorite of mine.
I have all the Nancy Drew titles and I really liked this game, Secret of the Scarlet Hand. There are puzzles and trivia.I think this game was a lot of fun. There was a bit to read but learning about something while playing a game is great for my over stressed mind.(I have a toddler, enough said?)I thought the graphics were good and the characters were interesting.I picked up the jewel case for about $9 can't beat the quality entertainment you get for that.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's good for what it is
I really like the Nancy Drew books and games, I think this one was a little too hard though. It was difficult to complete the tasks you are given for the internship. I also didn't see the point in them, it was difficult work that didn't apply to the mystery. There was just too many tasks for a simple mystery.

4-0 out of 5 stars Interesting characters; etc.
It's worth the purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Catin the Hat is Alive!
I recommend this interactive book to anyone with small children. My 4 year old loves the read and play portion of the program. My 2 year old, who doesn't sit still long enough to catch her breath turns on the computer andinsists on Cat in the Hat. As she is not quite old enough to handle themouse on her own, I click the read segment for her. She sits through theentire book laughing at the Cat's silly antics, repeating words, andhumming along with the music. It is the best of both worlds, a classicchildren's story come alive.

5-0 out of 5 stars My Son Loves It
My 3 1/2 year old son is already a huge fan of Dr. Seuss.I bought the software because he loved the book so much and he was delighted.A child can choose to have the computer read the book to them or they can choose toplay along. When they play along, it stops on certain screens and allowsthe child to click and interact with the characters and text. For examplethey can help the Cat in the Hat clean up his mess by clicking on thescattered items on the floor. My son is constantly saying "Mommywatch this...".I couldn't pull him away from this game when we firstbrought it home.He still pulls this game out quite often. The best partis that he still loves all the Dr. Seuss books. The software won't takeaway from the traditional form of Dr. Seuss. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple animations provides alot of excitement for the little ones!
Both my kids enjoys this CD-ROM. Green eggs and ham may not be your idea of a tasty treat, but this CD-ROM serves up an appetizing Seuss in a well-done interactive storybook. This delightful software from Living Books is meticulously animated with hundreds of sketches, new scenes, surprises, and activities. Your child directs the action with just a click of the mouse. And littler ones can choose the Read-to-Me mode! Children will build important skills while playing games such as Mouse in a House, the Wacky Food Concentration Game, and the Silly Rhyming Sentence Machine.
5-0 out of 5 stars wow, what fun
I can only say that our 4 and 2 year olds love hearing the story of green eggs and ham. being able to play along makes this so much fun for them! they love it!definately worth the money, in fact i have ordered more similar items so they can try them.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Tool For Catching Up On Your Reacing
I think I like this software more than our 4 year old likes it. I guess that's because it's allowing me to catch up on my reading and watch some of my favorite DVDs. Trust me, once you put this CD-Rom in the computer, your child will stay busy for hours. He or she will be quiet as a church mouse. I also like the fact that our 4 year old also found this CD-Rom very child-friendly. When I attempted to help her she quickly let me know that she did not need any help ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good program but with a caveat
Everyone else has covered the positive aspects of the game well.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great over and over
"It is really good" says my almost-7-year-old daughter. She and her twin brother have played this game countless times since we first purchased it over 2 years ago, maybe 3 years. Quite challenging when they were younger and still fun, especially for my daughter. 3 levels of difficulty, quite a few different activities & games, a nice goal at the end (pun intended). Really good for learning basic computer skills as well as logic and problem solving. Once the kids understood how it worked, I never had to help them with it--they could go through the whole game on their own. One of if not the best computer games I've seen for 4-6 year olds.

5-0 out of 5 stars Surprised and very pleased.
This is my very first childs software game. I was quite amazed with it. Our 4 yr had never touched a mouse before, yet she (faked) a cry when she had to stop playing after her first 40 minutes. She needed only occasional help learning the game and of course it's even more fun if your nearby to share her excitment at the many surprises presented. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THANK YOU!
I was so surprised by the speedy service! It was just what I needed and everything was in great condition! Thank you so much for making things ALOT easier! Your well trusted with me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun
I collect these PC games and Amazon was the only place the I could find these two games together - even our local game store was unable to get them for us. The only complaint I have about these two games is that the are so hard to solve, that a membership in the online community is mandatory! I can't believe that they're made for girls as young as 10! I'm an adult and I enjoy solving the cases because they're so difficult.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ghost Dogs is better...
The Secret of the Scarlet Hand, I must say, wasn't one of my favorite mystery games. The storyline was a bit odd: Nancy is now an intern at a museum in Washington D.C. But right after she arrives, she learns that there have been a bunch of thefts! The only thing left behind is a scarlet hand at the site of the crime. You learn about the Mayas in this game, a ancient civilization in South America. While this was interesting, to the younger set it sometimes seems like more of a boring topic than fun for a mystery game. One of the cooler little parts of this game is taking the Washington DC Metro system... that's just a fun little feature. I found many of the tasks and puzzles to be much more boring than they are in other ND games. Alone, I'd give this game about a 5 or 6 out of 10.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product
Great job on having a product that was hard-to-find.My daughters had had a copy in the past but one had decided to scratch her initials into the CD.We found it recently and she wanted to play it but couldn't.She asked if I could find one for her. That let me to you.Great job.Excellent price and handling.Keep up the good work.

4-0 out of 5 stars "101 Dalmatians Animated Storybook"
Even for those who haven't seen either of the movies, both the young and old will delight in this fun software. It's able to help improve reading skills by reading over the words, and players are allowed to replace a certain word in it with a synomyn, as well as read definitions of the synomyns and the actual words in the storybook. The characters who narrate, especially Lucky, are quirky and fun to listen to, also. Plus, fun stuff is hidden in the game - for example, in the first "page", if you click on Pongo's food can, he'll fill up the bowl until it overflows!
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Disney fun
I bought this for my 3 year old and she loves it.She'd never seen the movie but loves dogs so it was a hit.She loves the conrol she has over the game.It will read to her on demand, select any page in any order she requests and it will even let her change some of the key words to various synonyms. The games are delightful, too and the difficulty levels can be set to meet the challenge as they grow. The software will also give them definitions of key words if they want it to.This may not teach them a great deal but they will have a good time with it. ... Editorial Review

Graced with the most adorable voice since the animated Linus, Mercer Mayer's Little Critter has become one of the most popular interactive storybook characters around. In this classic title, L.C. and his Dad head off on a multimedia camping trip that features dozens of clickable images, merry songs, and a 22-minute, Critter-made video. The staying power of this quiet, technically unremarkable CD-ROM lies in the consistent, reassuring message it delivers. On each page, there are both adorable clickables (dancing chipmunks, sunbathing mice) and surprising and/or spooky ones (volcanic eruptions, rearing sharks, burning logs that launch skyward like rockets). As well, Little Critter's own internal world is a mixture of eager joy (tents! hiking boots!) to huge, looming fear (of the legendary "Big Paw"). In the company of his dad for the weekend, however, Little Critter undergoes an important shift. By story's end, his fearfulness has been gently replaced by newfound confidence and acceptance. A must-have classic for all families. (Ages 3-8) Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars My Daughter and the Computer
My 2 year old daughter just loves "Just me and my mom". My grandmother bought it for my little sister and she is now 10. The CD that I have is for the Mac. and it works on my brand new Windows XP. It won't let me install it, but I got it to work.
2-0 out of 5 stars bug-ridden but otherwise OK
I'm amazed to see so many positive reviews. We've tried this on at least two computers, under Windows 98 and 98 SE, and it crashed a lot on both of them.On our current Win 98 SE computer, it crashes once per page at least, making the program effectively unusable. Sadly no patch is available.
5-0 out of 5 stars Me and my Dad
Its another great Mercer Mayer game. They should make more. I love them all, but the others do work on XP. This will not work. I was able to run the movie, but not the game on XP. Children under 3 will like it! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice
Received item in a timely manner.Thought it would be more of an educational game based on the description however, it is a cute game.

1-0 out of 5 stars Only good for 5 minutes
We bought this cd rom for my daughter who is 3.she enjoyed playing the games, but was bored very quickly.Every level is the same games and you have to play these games over and over again to earn ingrediants.Very repetive and dull.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sweet Fun for Youngsters!
It's important to get kids interested in computers and learning, so why not include "Amazing Cookie Party" in your lesson plan?Children will love the brightly-colored animation and cheerfulness that radiates from this CD-ROM.And Strawberry Shortcake serves as a berry friendly guide to all of the games...
