5-0 out of 5 stars We'd give it 10 stars if we could!
Kids and adults love solving the puzzles. It is a great intro to basic physics (w/o your kids realizing it!)There are problems to solve and you have to place tools (pulleys, balls, dominoes, candles, etc.) in the right place in order for the goal to be accomplished. Our 5 year old needs help; our 8 year old plays alone. Our friends' teenagers enjoy it also.

5-0 out of 5 stars ~WOW~
This game is a lot of fun. You need to use your head and think about how to solve all of these "wacky contraptions." At first, I thought it was a challenge, but then it got easier and easier. I'm almost at the end of the game and can't wait to see what happens!

5-0 out of 5 stars North Dakota Kid
I am 8 years old and I got Crazy Machines for my Birthday. This is the best game in the world but if you don't like complicated things you won't this game. The four main things are fire, rope, electronics, and the next one I will let you discover. You can either build your own machine or you can figure out problems that may seem hard but after you've done them awhile they are easy. Some of the things that you can build with are boards, balls, robots, cannons, goo, blimps, cords, gravity controlers, scissors, tubes, and plants.Buy this game and have tons of fun! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this worthless game unless you love to be frustrated
I was looking for an intructional CD to help my daughter to learn chess.I read the reviews and endorsements and thought that this was what I was looking for.WRONG!
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Trainer for New Chess Player
Our 7-year old loves this program and is learning chess the fast, fun and easy way.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing chess product
I was extremely disappointed with this chess software. With my newest PC I bought this year, the program is buggy when it comes to sound and music, which they do acknowledge in their manual.

We have been fans of the I Spy Books & Software for some time, but this is our new favourite. The graphics are great & the levels within each "story" keep my 6 year old twin boys busy when Mummy needs a break. The I Spy Team should keep up the good work - this is a computer game that won't turn kids brains to mush!

5-0 out of 5 stars Even More! Contraptions Galore!
I played this game in Video Production every so often, and while making contraptions, I literally NEVER wanted the end-of-the-period bell to ring for at least another hour. This game has no limits to what you can create. Imagination is the tool of success!

5-0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! Stupendous! Awesome!
OMG! This game is like, the best! The graphics were great, and the personalities of the people were great too! Almost everyone seemed like a suspect, and more than one person was the culprit. Being herinteractive's second game, this is great!
5-0 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew and the Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake
I thought that this game was totally awesome! I really enjoyed it! I played it in 4 days, and it usually takes me much longer! It wasn't too hard, but hard enough. It's not as scary as some of the Nancy Drew games. There are four charactors: Sally McDonald (the lady who asked you to come there), Red Knott (a birdwatcher), Emily Griffen (a lady who owns a store), and Jeff Akers (the closest thing to a police officer that the town has). You never meet Sally, but you meet the other three. Oh, yes. I forgot you meet the ghost dogs...

2-0 out of 5 stars BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really didn't like this game at ALL! The mystery about somone dead was good and all, and I know it's Herinteractive's first game, but come on! Cartoon characters?! Plus, it was easy and short, and not hard at all. If I were you, I would NOT buy this at all, NAH-AH! I hope this review helped! =) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great family game
This is the first game I was able to play with little help from a walkthrough. My family has two computers: I played this game on mine and my 8yo and 12yo played it on theirs. It was fun to be able to help each other when needed.
3-0 out of 5 stars Disapointment
I have to say I thought this game was going to be really good but it wasn't. It was OK. I think it's very hard. Partly entertaining. But Her Interactive wasn't exactlly in it's finest hour with this game.
3-0 out of 5 stars The curse of blackmoor manor
OK I looked at other's people's review and a lot gave it 5 stars. I have to say I disagree. 3 is as good as itgets. I guess thoswe 5 star people like really hard stuff and dont mind that it is extremely difficult and alchamy and hard. Mostly i dont like the secret passage. you know i spent a LONG time trying to find this stone thingy that you pick up and then trying to get back. well u dont use it for anything u dont need it. so i havethis thingy. i solved the mystery then i played again and didnt find the stone thingy. no i dont mean the glowinggo onei think its a map type thing. but i love the nancy drew series. there really good. but i reccomend buyning an easier one and better one first if this is ur first game. then try this one later once u get good at nancy drew. hey i like this game its just way down my list of nd games. it my 3rd least favorite after the first two. but i like it im just saying that its not the best one and her interactive just didnt do as well on this one. but if u like really hard puzzles then here you go. just my opinion. the other ones are better exept ofr the first two. enjoy! either this one or another depending on what you like.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good beginner game
My son has been playing this since 2 1/2 year old.He can play it by himself, although he does use some trial and error, especially the pattern game and the what's missing game.My 5 year old daughter who loves Dragontales shows, is not interested in this game, which suggests that the game is too easy for her.I like that the program automatically advances levels, unlike many of the other software we have.

2-0 out of 5 stars Better for the younger set
This game markets itself as appropriate for 4-6 year olds.I bought this for my 5 year old and she beat it in less than 30 minutes. The game itself is extremely short - only 6 activities. This may be better for 3 and 4 year olds just learning to count and learn shapes. But for those already competent or even familiar with them, its a waste of money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Educational
My four year old enjoys this. The look and sound of the software is the same as the PBS show. Some of the activities my four year old can do by himself while others require some help from mom or dad.The software gives directions for your child to follow. There are activites such as counting and shape sorting and other activities that require an understanding of bigger/smaller, up/down, etc.We have about four computer games. In order of preference our son likes Dragon Tales followed by Little People Farm/Airport, then Clifford Thinking Adventure and then Finding Nemo.Overall, Dragon Tales Learn to Fly is a good value that runs well on my older Windows 98 system.

5-0 out of 5 stars Why I like Zoombinis
Hi, my name is Manuel, I am 6 years old and I like Zoombinis a lot because of all the adventures they go through to pass activities and discover new lands. I also like them because the stories are very exciting.
5-0 out of 5 stars So much fun!
This is one of the very few computer games where there are no glitches. The graphics, sound, and over all logic of this game are wonderous. Though some people may say it is for younger kids- they are wrong, my olmost fourteen year old cousin loves it- and even adults like it! It's not the same puzzle over and over agin either- clear directions and changing goals and directions give this game a little lift. There is so much more I could talk about with this game- but I don't want to bore you- overall this game is great!

5-0 out of 5 stars I love'd this game!
I was probably 14 when I played Zoombinis. My aunt had it for my cousins and well for her too, and thought that I would really like it. Not only do you learn and have fun it's so addicting. The best part about it is that you don't even realize you are learning. I am now 24 and recently purchased the game for myself. Not because I need a refresher course but because I enjoyed it so much. I think that this is a great game for the classroom. I've encouraged many of my friends that educate to install into their classrooms. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars my kid who HATES math LOVES this game
This is the BEST educational software I have purchased. I have to PRY my kid away from it. She has learned SO MUCH without even knowing that she was learning math. They disguise learning very well. You won't be disappointed. This is a keeper!

5-0 out of 5 stars THIS RULES !
I frist played this game in school and i had so much fun so i asked my mom for it and thats what i got. my favorit part was buying the arcade that is so cool. also the hardest one was when you'r at the peir the guy with lopster is the one. i recomend this game to any one. even aldults!

4-0 out of 5 stars Great software
I bought this for my 8-year-old to spend more time practicing math. My son likes math and he likes playing this software. He asks to play it rather than needing to be prodded, as he was with the Math & Science Excelerator I bought for the same purpose. Even the neighborhood kids come to play it with him. I would also recommend it for kids having trouble with math as it puts the concepts into visual perspective, rather than just repeating equations. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars XP tips
This was my favorite game as a kid. I learned a lot from it, and I remember it as being fun. Now I'm a teen and I'm testing to see if the game works on Windows XP so I can give the game away (as an AP history student, I've outgrown it). It works witha few modifications. The day you install it, only play 2 cases; the third one freezes. Also, when you have to insert the second disk it tends to freeze. It will save your cases though, so just restart your computer, put in the second disk, and play. As a general rule, I wouldn't play more than about four, possibly five cases at a time. Also ignore the horrible synching, the characters aren't really mouthing the words they're saying.

5-0 out of 5 stars Incredible
I have owned this game since I was five years old, and I'll tell ya' something: No matter how long Iv'e owned this game, (as long as I don't play it more than seven times a year) I never get sick of it! It's just one of those games that is incredibly fun every time you play it. It is also the perfect length, not too short, but not so long that you get bored. It is a two-disc game, with nine levels on the first disc, and nine on disc two. All of the levels are so different, that you can never get sick of it. Another score is that Amazon offers new, factory-sealed copies of it for VERY low prices. So, since Iv'e owned it for a very long time, take my advice and get your copy of one of the best games ever created.
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Game Ever
I bought this game because I was bored. And my parents wanted me to buy an educational game. I played it, exepecting to be scared, ( I was in second grade and Carmen terrified me.)but it ended up, once I beat it, I played it over again! And again, and again, and again! I love Carmen's games now ever since I played this one. I am in middle school now, and there are things I learned in this game my teachers didn't cover bacause it was " too advanced " If you are a student reading this review, beg your parents for this game. If you are a parent, beg your kids to buy it. Once they beat it, you play it! My parents learned things when I asked for help. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great math game!
I bought this for my 8 year old daughter, whose weakest subject is math. She LOVES this game and will literally play it for hours. It consists of all kinds of different math games that you can play at three different levels of difficulty.I am just VERY pleased with this game.Suddenly math is FUN for my daughter!

4-0 out of 5 stars Really Educational and Really Fun
My six-year-old daughter, who just started first grade, was completely engaged playing this game. It has a nice layout to explore, lots of activities, and it adapts to a range of skill levels. It was challenging enough to be interesting but not too hard to "win" and save the day for the city.I would give it five stars if only the arcade games were playable -- they were much too hard for my daughter. But she didn't seem to mind, since she really enjoyed everything else.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Just "Okay"
There are not many good options in software for children, so that this at least rates as okay is something. It is educational for sure and definitely teaches math and grouping of sets for faster counting, money values, etc. But it could be more appealing for a 5-year old boy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?
This is a good game that will teach children about world geography but younger children may get frustrated with this game.It is really geared toward pre-teens and you have to listen closely to the clues in order to determine where is the world is Carmen. This game will work with Windows XP Home Edition but you have to run it in compatibility mode.

4-0 out of 5 stars Warning: Its not an easy game.
This game is a little frustrating for any child who cannot yet associate a continent with the following clues: kroner, Ho Chi Minh trail, outback, Sahara. I had to help out more than either of us would have liked. On the other hand, it's fun, so she is motivated to try. And she is learning a lot!

5-0 out of 5 stars Carmen has made my child a geography whiz!

4-0 out of 5 stars I agree - Not perfect but very good
This is a fun computer game.My 3 year old enjoys it, but finds it pretty easy. There are times in her week when such a game fits that bill.I will be buying more copies for gifts. The graphics are a little disappointing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Independent game
My youngest son is 3 and really enjoys computer games.I limit his time, especially since many that have entered our house don't seem to have many redeeming qualities or he can't do them himself. This is a game he can play by himself, which occaionally comes in handy, and I feel that it is not devoid of educational value. He also enjoys playing I Spy Treasure Hunt and Spooky Mansion with his 6 year old brother.

1-0 out of 5 stars Boring...
This was so heavily hyped, I had to have it for my five-year old twin girls. What a bore. They're either too old for it, or there is the outside chance that Scholastic really didn't put a lot of effort into this.It would bore a three-year old.Compare to Spooky Mansion or Treasure Island - can't compare with these gems.I'm 50 and play the latter two. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars i suck and so does this game
i wrote a review for the other finding nemo game and i gave it 1 star! i dont know what i was thinking to buy this game because the last one was boring and way too easy. this one is no diffrent. it still sucks times 10. but i have to say the graphics are great!A+. BUT the game is still bad and as always i knew my brother would like it! he didnt and his 5. he said "this game is way too easy and boring. i dont want it."then he pretented to throw up. my mom didnt like it either. my friends thought they were too old for it because were 10 and my dad said why we bought this junk. so right now its sitting on the shelf dusty. we now have 20 dollars down the drain. stupid nemo and this company, they cant even invent a game that us 10-13 year olds can play.

1-0 out of 5 stars i got this game and.................
this game sucks. its way to easy and the graphics suck too. i love the movie but the game is terrible! im 10 so i realy should know better. i couldnt return at all. my mom was pleased with the game but i wasnt! so i gave it to my brother who is 5. my mom got me madagscar instead. i love it. atleast someone is enjoying my game. kids over 4 would use the disk for frisbee so think befor you buy!!!!

Carmen Sandiego is a thorn in the ACME Detective Agency's side. A brilliant globe-trotting thief, she learned all of her best tricks in her days as ACME's greatest operative. Now, she has used those skills to steal a rare book about Marco Polo. It is up to her former partner, an untested rookie, and--most importantly--you, the player, to stop her.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME EVER
We have it and it is so fun I love playing it! It NEVER gets boring. I play it for HOURS everyday I can.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Game
I am over the age to be playing this as it says on the box, but I still find it very interesting and play it when I'm bored and just feel like playing something. The fact that I beat the game before has kind of taken out the fun of not knowing what will happen next, but when I first bought it the game was challanging and exciting. I recomend it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Software Freeze
The software freezes when you try to look up information about a country.Very disappointing to the kids. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A good FIRST computer game
My daughter is 3 1/2 and loves Dora. But this game is WAY too simple for her. There just aren't enough things to do, and even the higher levels don't really challenge compared to her two other games: Care Bears and Blue's Clues. If you have a two-year-old or a child who's never played on a computer, this is great at teaching basic color, shape & number recognition and how to use a mouse & click. A better choice for a 3 - 4 year old is Blue's ABC Time Activities.

5-0 out of 5 stars Backpacks Aweigh!!
Our two year old LOVES this video game!I like the educational part where she is learning/relearning her shapes, colors, and numbers.I also like the higher levels that use patterns. The game is engaging and keeps my daughter's attention throughout.I strongly reccommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Preschool Computer Lab Teacher = Thumbs Up!
I have taught computer lab to preschool children for two years and have used this program both years with much success. It is a great game for my older 3 year old students and my 4-5 year old students. The boys love the rocketship shooting shapes game, and everyone thinks the pie fight is funny. The puzzle game is also popular.
5-0 out of 5 stars curious george ..laughing while learning!!
I bought this and my 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 boys they love it!!! the puzzles are great, star shooting gameof shapes is great for hand eye coordination and the pie game is awesome they are learing letters, matching, size differentation, all the while laughing!

3-0 out of 5 stars Buggy
I bought this because my son liked another Curious George game, Downtown Adventure (which I highly recommend but the age range should be 4-8, not 3-6).This game is from a different company and is of very poor quality. The pie fight game crashes in the middle every single time we play, on two different computers. The jukebox game is incredibly slow to load, way too slow for a 3 year old to tolerate. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Lila the annoying Unicorn
My daughter enjoys playing this game on our iMac OS. She was able to understand the concept of the game within an hour. A smart four year old.
5-0 out of 5 stars Hours of entertainment!
My daughter just loves this game! It's very colorful, challenging and magical! Her cousin broke her 1st cd-rom of Barbie Swan Lake and we had to order another one!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun computer game
My 4 year old daughter loves this game and wants to play it everyday since we ordered it.Most of the screens are easy enough for her, however there are a few that she finds some difficulty with. One such page asks her to sequence bottles of potions (kind of like the old "Simon" game).Another page asks her to complete a mirror image of a scene.Still she manages and is eager to try it...it wouldn't keep me from purchasing it. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Pep's Birthday Suprise - Pretty good (too many bad reviews! YIKES! Escape the bad reviews!)
I used to feel bad about it even before I played it because of the plot. It felt like it ruined my Action Peps stories (see Putt-Putt Time Travels and Putt-Putt Circus reviews). But when we got it from the library, it was great! But it's real different. Putt-Putt's voice is different. Putt's voice changed a lot because it also changed in Putt-Putt Joins the Circus. Also, different glovebox and image of Pep in glovebox. (Why does he keep Pep in his glovebox anyway? I don't think it's good to put ALIVE DOGS in gloveboxes.) Well, let's say it's not all that bad, just different. But, just because it's different dosen't mean it dosen't remember when it wasn't different; in the preview where he's telling Mr. Kibble, the pet feed shop owner, about Pep not having any parties, Putt-Putt thinks and the thinking bubble has a preview from Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, the first Putt-Putt ever, where he gets Pep, and in the invatation song two cards slide across with 2 previews on them, one from Putt-Putt Time and one from Race. (We only played Race once @ friend's house). Only I have a TERRIBLE complaint: I reccomend you put it window by clicking Menu>Options because Windows Logo key and Alt+Ctrl+Del dosen't help! Only Alt+F4 and in the credits young kids could get frustrated cuz' they can't quit! They don't know bout' Alt+F4!Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

1-0 out of 5 stars Not a worthy addition
My children (3& 5) are huge Putt-Putt fans.My older one has 'graduated' to Putt-Putt Travels Through Time, the most challenging and imho, best designed of them all.
4-0 out of 5 stars Putt-Putt come back!
My daughter (and I) have loved Putt-Putt.Particularly "goes to the zoo" and "racetrack" games. This game just does not run as well.It is slow and the speech is choppy. The voice of Putt-Putt has changed and not really for the better.I wish I would have read the reviews here before purchasing it.Everything the previous reviewers have said is true. ...
