5-0 out of 5 stars Very Fun Game!
This game is very fun!I remember playing the original Oregon Trail game and it was fun as well but when Oregon Trail 2 came out, I had to have it!I could easily play this game for hours! It is pretty cool because the graphics are way better than what the original game was and there is way more products that you can purchase for your trip. Also, I love the way that they show a video of someone talking to you or when you go to a major point on your trip it'll show a video talking about that as well. This game is truly awesome and should be compatible with any computer built in the past 5 years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun and Educational Game
While I've only played Oregon Trail 1, 2, and 4 in my youth, I can easily say 2 was the best of the series. Oregon Trail puts the player in the 1800's during times when people hoped for a more properous life out West. The history of Oregon Trail is very interesting and this game does a good job of showcasing many elements of that era into the game.
1-0 out of 5 stars so dissappointing
danm it suck . after reading tons of review from amazon i thought buying this oregon trail 2 game would be a lot of fun . well i just play it and it suck . if you played the classic. there are feature like fishing. resting , talking to people. trading with them you can chose the items you want. this version 2 don't like you do any of it. no fishing, and funny thing is they sell fishing pole what is the pole of it , if the game don't let you fish. they have more towns and store. one point the classing lack, still , no gathering vegetable and fruit in this version two, the computer automatically do it for you . if the classic is 100 points , this is like 30 points. and it version too. ohh please. i too upset right now with this software maker, it like those guy got lazy or lazier . ... 2-0 out of 5 stars disappointing
My 4 year old son has been playing computer games for about 6 months and does really well at navigating the mouse and listening for instructions.I sit with him until I know he knows how to play.I can't leave him with this one.You have to search to find where you want to go and the information I think it gives on the dinosaurs is either below or above his level. He knows alot about dinosaurs and this doesn't expand on anything.I think maybe if it were a little more realistic...and the game gets stuck and acts slowly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great lessons on the ocean
This piece is great for kids. You should also consider the adventures of Captain -- Captain Jon's Island Adventure and Captain Jon Explores the Ocean.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game if you want to learn about marine biology!!
This is such a cool game! The Magic School Bus games are all quite good.I really like how you can visit many different ocean zones so you can see that not all parts of the ocean are alike. It is unique that you can "perform" your own science experiments on the same program that you can play fun games on.I like the game with the crab. :)

4-0 out of 5 stars good, but not very exciting
This game is okay, but I was a little disappointed. My previous experience with the show made me have high expectations. My son likes it but said it was a little boring. It does a good job of teaching things but I think there could have been more ideas covered.

5-0 out of 5 stars Inside the Earth - Inside Your Child's Mind!
Scholastic's name's on this selection. Not for nothing....This is another one of Microsoft's gems. I know I said it before, but this is definitely a gem! Microsoft does NOT make bad educational software. There's something of value in every package they turn out. Ms. Frizzle shines again in this one. Parents this is the closest you want your kids exploring inside the earth. Come on and break out your wallet, or purse.

If high-flying superheroes, glitzy game shows, and dangerousinterplanetary missions are what it takes to hold the attention of third throughsixth graders studying math and science, then this four-CD compilation ofeducational software does no wrong. And, fortunately, all fourprograms--originally released separately by the quality-conscious folks at Edmark--manageto do a respectable job of actually teaching kids, too.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Avoid This Product
I have purchased 30-40 software CD's for my 6 year old over the years and this CD has got to rate near the bottom of the bunch. In summary, there is very little explanation or instruction into the math or science concepts being "taught", the "game" aspect to theCDs is clunky at best, and it is just plain confusing.I have been sorely disappointed in these CDs and my daughter has very little, if any, interest in using these CDs although she loves to be on the computer. At the same time I boughtthese CDs, I also bought her a Magic School Bus title which was very good and which she asks to play.I have never written a review before this review but felt compelled to do it to alert other parents to avoid this title. Waste of your money, and of your child's patience and interest.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exceeds Expectations
My son is 6 yrs old so I was leery of purchasing this title. However, it is better to challenge than to bore, so I made the purchase.I will never regret it.The software is fabulous. It installed easily, initializes and performs well, is incredibly engaging and remarkably educational for such a fun suite of software.5-0 out of 5 stars Great selection of titles, educational and well worth the $$

5-0 out of 5 stars Sammy's science house
This is an excellent pre school introduction to science. All three of my children loved it as preschoolers. I recommended it to my preschool teacher, who went to a teacher training where they raved about it. I love the sorting game, where the categories are flexible and fluid, where one item can belong in several bins. The movies are great for working with before and after, although there is only one solution, you can play it backwards! My children always loved that. It is a kind game, without violence or commercialization. One of the few games I'll let my preschooler play.

3-0 out of 5 stars Much Too Complex for 3 year olds
Although my daughter asks to play with this a lot (cute characters) she gets frustrated immediately with the navigation.Perhaps I'll hold on to it until she is 4+, but the material is too mature for her at 3 & 1/2.

5-0 out of 5 stars terrific introduction to time and geography for little ones
This is our first Edmark product, but it won't be our last. This is a fine program with easy controls, a user-friendly interface, and fun educational activities.Kids can work on five tasks in one of two modes. For example, in Jellybean Hunt, your perspective is as an ant on a grid-patterned tablecloth.Jellybeans are scattered at various locations. In exploration mode, you can use arrows designated as relative directions (forward, left or right) or absolute directions (labelled N, S, E and W), to find jelly beans; in task mode, you are asked to get a particular jellybeanusing a specific arrow set.5-0 out of 5 stars Trudy's Time and PLace
Once again Edmark keeps our kids happy with another outstanding product. I've seen kids from 3+ to 7 play this. Several different activities with both Q/A mode or explore mode keeps kids with varied levels of skills busy, entertained and learning. The games "grow" with the kids. Both educational and loads of fun, it's a must for all homes.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars educational and really holds their attention for hours
My daughters- five and six year old have really loved this CD. They play it everyday and have not yet got bored. I am very happy because they have picked up quite a lot of things about habitats and biomes. The catchy songs and the games that allow them into the world of animals in different biomes are very educational. They have not just educated the kids but their Mom (me) too!! The game has 3 levels- easy to hard and i dont think my girls are going to get bored of this one soon.I only wish the software also included deserts and the Asian continent to which we belong (we live in India). However, given that i have not found anything as good and fun for the kids, i would highly recommend this product to all moms ( Asian ones too!)

4-0 out of 5 stars one of the best Jumpstart games
Jumpstart Animal Adventures is a fun, educational game. My 4 year old son loves the current music and funny music videos of the animals. The crab music video "Regeneration" (about defending your territory and occasionally losing a limb that grows back) makes me and my son giggle every time (think: a "clean" Green Day song).
3-0 out of 5 stars Nice graphics, BAD music
The graphics are top notch, but the music is terrible. It feels like you're watching MTV or VH1, hip-hop, rap, rock.Do you really want to TRAIN your kids to be mindless, 24-hour-a-day MTV junkies AT THIS EARLY AGE?They will learn to like this type of music from their friends later, when they are ready. Why force it upon them now?Jumpstart could have provided more age appropriate music that is just as engaging, but they didn't.Just like many parents, they want to force kids to grow up too quickly. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Just Skip This One and Go On to Chemicus
My wife and I, unfortunately, played the three existing science edutainment titles from Tivola, Physicus, Bioscopia, and Chemicus, out of order from their release sequence. We first played Physicus and enjoyed it but felt that it could have been much better. We then played Chemicus and felt that it truly was a much-improved game over Physicus in nearly every aspect (see my two reviews of these other games). Then we went back and played Bioscopia, which is actually the middle game of the triumvirate. We now wish we hadnt gotten spoiled by jumping to Chemicus first, because Bioscopia is a whole lot more like its predecessor Physicus.5-0 out of 5 stars Worked for me and was way cool.
