1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!!DO NOT BUY
As aDigital Photographer and a MAC user, I found iPhoto crashes when you try to IMPORT any DIGITAL (only)l pictures from Adobe Photosop CS & Adobe Elemebts 2. I can downlaod my pictures to iPhoto from my Digital camera (D70), export them to my pictures folder, adjust the pictures using either above mentioned software, but cannot Import any of them. Go to MacRumors, you'll see that you're not alone.Hey APPLE?? When are you going to fix this????

4-0 out of 5 stars iPhoto 6
I purchased iLife specifically for iPhoto 6. I haven't looked at the other programs on this DVD. I find iPhoto 6 to be very helpful in downloading, managing, and editing digital photos

4-0 out of 5 stars Notfor PMG3
Might be a good product but I'll never know.

It's hard to imagine that Adobe can make Photoshop any better than this. 4-0 out of 5 stars Aside from License Manager, this is THE photo/imaging editing software
I concur with the review that points up the problems with Adobe's new "license manager" method of activation. When you pay as much as you do for this app, or the entire suite, you should not be faced with complete lockup should you have hardware problems, or can't connect to the Internet from "location shooting." I took one star off for this egregious marketing tactic.
1-0 out of 5 stars Change the incorrect product description NOW
Amazon should change the product description of Adobe PhotoShop Upgrade ASAP. Maybe this is the text they got from Adobe, but any way you look at it, it is false advertising.
5-0 out of 5 stars Just the Very Best
I have used Photoshop versions 5 all the way through 7. I just downloaded CS2. I followed the simple stps and it is now up and running on my desktop. I read some bad reviews, but I had no problems at all. I find it to be a solid program and since I made this change to help in using lightroom, the new bridge will be of great value to me. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I'm furious about this!
I installed a perfectly legal upgrade of Photoshop CS2.It worked fine for a handful of months, and then it quit.Technical support was of no help.I had to reformat my hard drive and essentially rebuild my entire machine.I am so frustrated about this.I probably spent 100 hours with the data backup, moving data, reformatting, and reinstalling. If I were a small business, I would be out of business. All because this piece of crap program, which I purchased legally, decided to quit.Totally unacceptable!

4-0 out of 5 stars Still the best, but Adobe's taking risks with users' loyalty
I concur with the review that points up the problems with Adobe's new "license manager" method of activation. 3-0 out of 5 stars Decent Product / Lousy Company
I had an older numbered version of PS, and upgraded to CS in 2004. Unfortunately, the old version, which I bought online, was represented a registerable, but it wasn't. Adobe said they would go ahead and activate it, and they would transfer the registration if I would fax them the information regarding the seller. I was happy to do that, hoping they would bust the creep.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must for photo editing!
I knew my laptop colors were off, and could not calibrate properly by eye w/ OSX's color calibration utility. So i ordered this little gem. Now what I seeon my camera matches my laptop and my workstation. I was even surprised how off my workstation was, since it looked "correct" before the calibration.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I used my Huey to generate calibration profiles on 4 different monitors (all LCD). On every one it worked beautifully, giving me neutral grays and good contrast and brightness. The ambient light adjustment is a really nice addition, and it will automatically dim the screen as the room gets dimmer to maintain apparent contrast levels. The software is so easy to use, I never even touched the manual. A great price on a great product.

4-0 out of 5 stars I don't own a Huey, but...
I do own the Gretag/Pantone LT-1, and I did own the SpyderPro, and I have played with a Huey.A monitor calibrator is going to change the colors you see on the monitor; that's its job, because the reason you have trouble getting prints that look like the monitor, is because the monitor isn't set right! It takes a couple of hours to get used to the different colors -- and you've a lifetime of getting correct prints on the first try once you get the printer profiled too.The first thing a well-calibrated monitor teaches you is just how poor your own color memory is and how bad Adobe Gamma and other "eyeball-based" calibration techniques are.

5-0 out of 5 stars Not A Cheap PhotoShop Alternative - Better!!
It's a shame Paint Shop Pro (PSP) is so often described as simply an alternative to PhotoShop. In reality, Paint Shop Pro is better. While both are fairly evenly matched when it comes to image editing, PSP also has a full set of graphics editing tools that PhotoShop mostly lacks. These tools allow one to draw and paint in vector, raster, and art media layers for the creation and editing of clip art, business logos, web graphics, and similar artwork. Reviewers (magazine or other) rarely mention this when comparing the two products, instead pointing to a few additional esoteric image editing tools while claiming PhotoShop is the superior product.
3-0 out of 5 stars Go find a copy of version 7
I guess Corel thought PSP would sell better if it was dumbed down for the masses. I am in complete agreement with everyone who says Corel has done a bad number on it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Goodbye Corel
Well, I finally got around to it: uninstalling PSP X. It was just a waste of perfectly good harddrive space. And besides, I have PSP 9 installed, which is just a better program than PSP X. I'm only sorry that I purchased the "upgrade" to PSP X when it was first offered by Corel, after they bought out JASC. What a waste of money. Now I hear that Corel has released PSP PHOTO XI. Yes, what was once a fine image processing software program has been relegated to being a mere photo enhancement program. No thanks, Corel! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
This is the first time I have ever reviewed a product and I do it so that no one else will waste their money on this.It adds virtually nothing to XP.Too bad they didn't make it as interesting as their packaged media edition. That would have been worth the money, but old Bill who doesn't want to be the richest man in the world would rather you spend money on a new PC to get that product. The themes are nice but far too few for the price. The games are a gimmick since you have to pay to play the real things. The DJ is dumb and the dancers are cute but after a while boring.Hard to figure out how to use the music converter and photo stuff.Too bad could have been something but in its present form, not worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the hassle
I purchased this software thinking that I could take my digital images, create a slide show with music, and then burn it to dvd for the family to watch.

4-0 out of 5 stars Keeps getting better
I started with Elements 3 and thought it worked great. I have Elements 4 and can see it got better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor, Slow, and a disappointment
Being familiar with some Adobe products, we opted to try this at work as a cheaper alternative than some other packages for simple web graphics work.Boy, were we disappointed. 2-0 out of 5 stars Poor -- don't bother
I am in agreement with others here who indicate that 4.0 is a downgrade from 3.0.Performance is very poor, especially the organizer. It's depressing to see how fast alternative programs are, such as Mac iPhoto and even the Canon software that came with my camera, compared to Elements.Recently, I've been getting lots of crashes, though everything else on my system is completely stable. The only reason I gave it more than 1 star is it does have some nice functionality, when it works correctly. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Premire Elements uses a lot of resources
I purchased the package primarily to edit videos of youth football and figured why not get Photoship Elements while I was at it. I can easily burn video with the MyDVD software that came with the computer, but editing clips was difficult or impossible. My thoughts on Premire Elements is that 1) It can do a lot of stuff and has serious editing capabilities, you can cut and move clips around at will and overlay sound as you like, etc. 2) I did not find it particularly user friendly to learn at first and things that were easy on MyDVD are difficult to figure out, but once you figure it out it is not too bad 3) it uses a lot of computer resouces. For short clips it will do fine, but for clips of over 30 minutes it can take several hours to process/transcribe/burn the DVD.I have a gig of memory and an AMD 3500+ chip.It also uses more hard drive space than MyDVD.

5-0 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop
This is a great product for basic creations using your photos. The scrapbook is easy to make and comes out looking pretty nice.Making a creation from scratch using text boxes is a little more difficult, but I think I can master it pretty easily.

2-0 out of 5 stars Adobe Photoshop 4.0 - "Think Twice"
I've used Photoshop 2.0 for several years and found it did everything I wanted to do. While 2.0 was not 100% "user friendly," I slowly learned the scheme of things and got my pictures quickly tweeked up in good shape. It's pretty much a snap for me now.

5-0 out of 5 stars New and Improved Features
Paint Shop Pro has been a favorite graphics software for many years and has a large number of faithful users. It is used by photographers and hobbyists to arrange, organize, adjust and enhance photos. On the other hand, it is used by many artists to create digital art, marketing and web graphics and more. Paint Shop Pro is on its eleventh upgrade and is now owned by the Corel Corporation. With this latest upgrade, named Paint Shop Pro Photo XI, the software has some new and improved features that will help you increase your creativity and productivity.
2-0 out of 5 stars Buggy
I create digital scrapbooking graphics and frequently save items in .png format - which, with this program, can't be done properly. It does not retain the transparency. If you save it with the optimizer, you get an ugly background.Without the optimizer, it tricks you into thinking it is alright because it looks transparent to you - however, opening it in any other program (such as PSE, PSCS, PSP9, PSPX, etc) the transparency is replaced by a white background. As of yet, there is no fix for this.It runs extremely slowly and keeps losing track of where my plugins are saved. It's got potential if some patches to fix these issues are released.

5-0 out of 5 stars Paint Shop Pro Just Keeps Getting Better!
I have been a user of Paint Shop Pro since Version 7. Paint Shop Pro Photo X1 has so many new features.I use my Paint Shop Pro XI for making graphics but I also use it for scrapbooking purposes. I love that Corel has a learning center right in the working area. If you don't know something you can see how to use without going into the help menu. It is right in front of you. This makes it easy for someone new to Paint Shop. What it does for Photos is really great. The new editing tools are so easy to use and they make your photos look just great.I love the Skin Smoothing in the retouching tools. I am not young and when I had a close up of my face it looked horrid. When I used the Skin Smoothing adjustment my close-up looked great. I am not afraid of close-up photos no more because I can fix it up. Paint Shop Pro XI is great for touching up photos it is so easy and not complicated. The Time Machine effect is great. There are so many things you can do with your photos with this program. It is easy to learn and it won't cost you a lot of money. I always felt I got my money's worth with Paint Shop Pro. It just keeps getting better and better. I am more than please with this version. I would recommend Paint Shop Pro XI to anyone that wants a good program for their photos and making graphics. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Please get it
I started with Adobe Elements Photoshop 3 and Premier 1. This is my 2nd upgrad. My computer is 2 years old and I'm glad I bought Pentium 4 with a lot of RAM and hard drive. This upgrade is great. Major improvement from Elements 4&2. If you used Premier 2 extensively you will find that this upgrade will make your work much easier. An iprovement to axccess all menues, love the new time line (now it has two time lines were you can switch between them, the old one +the new one were you can go to each scene in a click. You can narrate directly to your timeline. I tried my USB mic, it did not work. I read a little and tried my old serial mic, it worked beautifuly. During narration, premier will add a new audio segment in the timeline. The best way is to turn off the sound and used headphone to hear your video and narrate during playback, otherwise you'll get an echo (you'll be recording your voice and the playback at the same time).

So far I am very impressed with this product. PE3 Installed without any problems. After struggling with Pinnacle Studio 9 for a long time, I have finally found a product to replace it!!! No crashes, very fast program.
1-0 out of 5 stars NO Stars...WARNING..Prem Elements MAY NOT WORK
I bot & rec'd delivery today from Amazon...Premiere Elements will NOT install...reason from Adobe website: Many CPUs do not have SSE2 support and will not work with Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0: Intel Pentium III, AMD Athlon, AMD Athlon XP, or AMD Athlon XP-M. note: "WILL NOT WORK"....It won't even install...Amazon should NOT sell this product!! Or should place LARGE warnings...$130 thrown away....can NOT get thru to Adobe tech support...so a COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars A Decent product...
I have been using PSP 9 for long and had to decide between an upgrade to PSE 5 or PSP XI. I downloaded PSP XI trial and found that most of the stuff were bells and whistle and could be achieved easily by PSP 9 (or not needed, for that matter). So, I decided to give PSE 5 a try. Since, I don't have any prior experience with the older versions, cannot compare with them. However, the first impression is that it is slower than PSP 9. I missed a hard copy manual as well. I always like to read a book rather than browse manual on a CD. However most of the tools are self-explanatory with a few difference in operations from PSP. I really like the Magic Selection Brush Tool. With the right kind of images and strokes, it works wonders. Makes selection very easy. I don'tmiss undo/ redo because, I always have the Undo History palette in the palette bin. Having used PSP 9, I somehow like the arrangement of tools/ palettes in PSP9 and find it more full featured in image editing front. Maybe because I am still learning PSE? I would have liked an option of allowing me to select the tools I put on the toolbar. And I like the option of scripting on PSP 9. PSE gives an option of correcting lens blur and motion blur under sharpening that is useful. Curves has to be adjusted by sliders (sic). Hey, tedious but works! But PSE gives more options for creating "stuffs" from your photos. But what bowled me over for PSE is the excellent organizer. [...]

4-0 out of 5 stars No hard copy manual
I was disappointed to spend so much on APE 5 and receive no hard copy manual in the box. I called Adobe customer support and was asked what size the box was and was then told that there is no hard copy manual with APE 5 that is sold by resellers. The rep I spoke with must be misinformed, as I know people who bought APE 5 from Best Buy and Costco and got the hard copy manual. I was told I could purchase the manual from Adobe for $20 plus applicable tax and shipping. I told them no thanks, I would buy a 3rd party book instead and ordered the 'Missing Manual' book. That's funny if you think about it. Besides the 38 page quick start guide, there IS a copy of the manual on the CD, so it isn't like there is no documentation at all. I find those hard to work from, and one can definitely not carry a copy around for reading while on breaks or waiting for appointments, but it is better than having none at all. However, if I had known a version was available with a hard copy manual, I would purchased that version instead. Lesson learned.
1-0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favour, buy Paint Shop Pro instead.
I gave this product one star because the option of giving it zero doesn't exist.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best photo editing software in the industryis now even better
If you're like me, you've probably been using Photoshop for years. It seems that Adobe has done it again and made the best photo editing software in the industry even better.Adobe has done their homework and listened to the users. They have made Photoshop more powerful by tweaking some existing features and developed new features as well.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW. Great new features.
I love the new exposure and gama correction tools as well as the perspective filter. This application did cause me to do a complete system overhall but NOW my Mac runs like an Olympian. The more robust and powerful this application gets, the more taxing it is on your system. A few things have chaged, such as how you link and select layers but after getting used to it I believe it is an improvement. Adobe Bridge (the replacement for the file browser) is an awsome application too, allowing you to run batches in both Illustrator and InDesign as well as Photoshop. You can preview documents in most formats also. As a professional designer and photographer this application is indespensible.

4-0 out of 5 stars A gem that can be enhanced and polished
Photoshop is one of the great software products ever created. It has continued to evolve to match the needs of advanced digital photography, offering some really astonishing capabilities -- assuming that you have the time and necessary instructional materials. It has a steep learning curve.

4-0 out of 5 stars Premiere Elements 2.0 Gets it done
I have been a Pinnacle Studio 7 user for a number of years and up-graded to the 10 version. Big mistake. What a total waste. I liked Studio 7 for its user-friendlyness.. You can trust a name like Adobe. I've only used it on a couple of small projects and the capabilities are powerful. Harder to use but it does what its suppose to do. I would recommend it highly.

4-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Software!!!
I am an intermediate level editor.I was shocked with what this comes with, I expeceted LESS, but for the price, this product ROCKS!!!
1-0 out of 5 stars Crashes my new Athlon64X2 dual core processor computer
I don't know why this software is working for others. In fact, I checked the reviews listed before purchasing it. Although I preferred the user-friendly Pinnacle Studio 10 trial version, I wanted this program because it is supposedly compatible with my camcorder. It supports the USB 2.0 connection for importing directly from my Sony Handycam--which only uses a USB connection. Since my old E-machines did not have a fast enough processor to run Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0, I actually went to the lengths of upgrading to an HP Pavilion a1450n. It far exceeds the system requirements, with an AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core Processor and 2 gigs of RAM.Even so, every time I try to run this software, my computer crashes. I am very disappointed with Adobe's customer service.Unless I want to spend $39 per call, I must use a toll number between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific time to speak to customer service about this issue. There is no e-mail given.I tried to e-mail the general e-mail address, and was sent a message directing me to call the toll number for technical assistance.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Progam with some quirks
I bought this program because it was the best MAC OS X progam out there for digital scrapping that I could find. The scrapbooking graphics and digital papers are surprisingly good. There are lots of different papers, from crumpled, inked, striped, circles and bordered. There are lots of embellishments like tags, fibers, shapes and velum.Outside of the scrapbooking graphics, the graphics can be a bit cheesy. There are lots of templates or a person can create a layout from scratch.
5-0 out of 5 stars fun software for scrapbooking
This is just a fun program for making scrapbook pages and collages. It has lots of templates for a lot of different projects and this is a good place to start out if youneed some direction. The blanks allow you to be as creative as you want!It is inexpensive, but allows you to do lots of fun and creative projects.Enjoy!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Adobe still has a lock on the market.
It's not that Photoshop is so great at what it does, really. It's that everyone else's programs are so far behind it. Every release gets a little better. Even the cheaper Photoshop Elements release has the new Shadow/Highlight tool and several of the other great Photoshop feaures. I'd love to buy a photo editing program by someone else. There are plenty of things about Photoshop that occasionally annoy me. Color correction can be some kind of voodoo ritual, for instance. There's just nothing else out there worth considering as a replacement, though. So, uh...I guess I'm a loyal Adobe customer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware CS2 -- stick wih CS!
If I had $1 for every time a CS2 app crashed and made expend real hours to redo work, I'd have about $10. And that's enough for me to say, BEWARE of this set of applications! Adobe has allowed them to get too bloated, too slow, and the results are that all the programs (but principally GoLive, InDesign and Illustrator, in that order) are crashy and will quite suddenly, forcing you to expend the precious hours of your life redoing work you just finished. I cannot stress how disappointed I am in Adobe, and how distraught I am that we as a nation have allowed the only two competing companies to join, thus guaranteeing that there will be less quality and innovation in the future. In any event, do not buy the CS2 apps, Adobe does not deserve your support!

5-0 out of 5 stars There Is No Substitute
Photoshop CS 2 is in a league of it's own. It can be used to do professional photo retouching and correcting but it is also probably the best painting package out there. It's not perfect however. There are some features that high end compositing and color grading programs like Inferno and DaVinci have that Photoshop could use, and the warper is just bare bones but then we're talking big bucks and no doubt Photoshop will eventually have something like them. Except for a few filters, it can function in 16 bits per channel which was a long time coming but now it's here, making it a professional product. Still, as far as I'm concerned, the ultimate paint program has yet to be written. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing
Even with a system that meets Apples specifications I find Aperture is so slow, it's almost unusable.Unfortunately I bought the academic version of the program, so I won't qualify for upgrades.Wish I'd done more research before purchasing this program..

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but not good enough
Aperture does not communicate well with other devices such as scanners and USB storages and other softwares such as ilife.
5-0 out of 5 stars The best app
