4-0 out of 5 stars A Decent product...
I have been using PSP 9 for long and had to decide between an upgrade to PSE 5 or PSP XI. I downloaded PSP XI trial and found that most of the stuff were bells and whistle and could be achieved easily by PSP 9 (or not needed, for that matter). So, I decided to give PSE 5 a try. Since, I don't have any prior experience with the older versions, cannot compare with them. However, the first impression is that it is slower than PSP 9. I missed a hard copy manual as well. I always like to read a book rather than browse manual on a CD. However most of the tools are self-explanatory with a few difference in operations from PSP. I really like the Magic Selection Brush Tool. With the right kind of images and strokes, it works wonders. Makes selection very easy. I don'tmiss undo/ redo because, I always have the Undo History palette in the palette bin. Having used PSP 9, I somehow like the arrangement of tools/ palettes in PSP9 and find it more full featured in image editing front. Maybe because I am still learning PSE? I would have liked an option of allowing me to select the tools I put on the toolbar. And I like the option of scripting on PSP 9. PSE gives an option of correcting lens blur and motion blur under sharpening that is useful. Curves has to be adjusted by sliders (sic). Hey, tedious but works! But PSE gives more options for creating "stuffs" from your photos. But what bowled me over for PSE is the excellent organizer. [...]

4-0 out of 5 stars No hard copy manual
I was disappointed to spend so much on APE 5 and receive no hard copy manual in the box. I called Adobe customer support and was asked what size the box was and was then told that there is no hard copy manual with APE 5 that is sold by resellers. The rep I spoke with must be misinformed, as I know people who bought APE 5 from Best Buy and Costco and got the hard copy manual. I was told I could purchase the manual from Adobe for $20 plus applicable tax and shipping. I told them no thanks, I would buy a 3rd party book instead and ordered the 'Missing Manual' book. That's funny if you think about it. Besides the 38 page quick start guide, there IS a copy of the manual on the CD, so it isn't like there is no documentation at all. I find those hard to work from, and one can definitely not carry a copy around for reading while on breaks or waiting for appointments, but it is better than having none at all. However, if I had known a version was available with a hard copy manual, I would purchased that version instead. Lesson learned.
1-0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favour, buy Paint Shop Pro instead.
I gave this product one star because the option of giving it zero doesn't exist.

5-0 out of 5 stars We'd give it 10 stars if we could!
Kids and adults love solving the puzzles. It is a great intro to basic physics (w/o your kids realizing it!)There are problems to solve and you have to place tools (pulleys, balls, dominoes, candles, etc.) in the right place in order for the goal to be accomplished. Our 5 year old needs help; our 8 year old plays alone. Our friends' teenagers enjoy it also.

5-0 out of 5 stars ~WOW~
This game is a lot of fun. You need to use your head and think about how to solve all of these "wacky contraptions." At first, I thought it was a challenge, but then it got easier and easier. I'm almost at the end of the game and can't wait to see what happens!

5-0 out of 5 stars North Dakota Kid
I am 8 years old and I got Crazy Machines for my Birthday. This is the best game in the world but if you don't like complicated things you won't this game. The four main things are fire, rope, electronics, and the next one I will let you discover. You can either build your own machine or you can figure out problems that may seem hard but after you've done them awhile they are easy. Some of the things that you can build with are boards, balls, robots, cannons, goo, blimps, cords, gravity controlers, scissors, tubes, and plants.Buy this game and have tons of fun! ... Finally the bloatware is gone! They've trimmed down the number of running services to an acceptable level, and performance is no longer an issue.
1-0 out of 5 stars Bad Product
Norton Internet Security 2007 has to be one of the worst products that I have ever purchased. It slowed my PC to an unacceptable level. When I disabled some of its unnecessary functions, it continued to slow my PC and gave me the bonus of irritating & uneccesary notifications/ warnings.I was a longtime, dedicated user of Norton, but that has changed.Try something else and avoid reduction of speed, adding an addtional bar to screen your screen, additional clutter and other deficiencies. If Amazon had a rating for less than one star, I would have given one of those negative ratings.
3-0 out of 5 stars WARNING **** NOT compatible with Windows 2000

3-0 out of 5 stars Improvements don't help if you forget the basics...
Quicken 2007 has some nice new features - but it appears to have some fundamental basic problems as well.I seriously question just how much testing was done before it was released. The first problem I encountered was that the tax reports were wrong - when I converted from Quicken 2004 to Quicken 2007.Seems the file conversion program missed many tax line assignments - and the most basic was depreciation.I'm still looking but I can't find depreciation in any of the tax line item lists!Leave out depreciation and all your reports are wrong (if you use depreciation that is)The other problem was updating stock prices.Q2007 can find all my stocks and update with current prices - but can't find any of those stocks for their historical prices! And as usual with new Quicken versions - they still haven't fixed the problem when you pick "earliest to date" for a report, it gives an invalid start date 0/0/1920 and then gives you an error message and tells you to enter a valid date!
1-0 out of 5 stars Quicken is a piece of junk
Quicken Deluxe 2007 is certainly not user friendly nor intuitive. The worst part, however, is the fact that when I print I get only micro printing (perhaps 1/4 point which is too small to read). I have tried to get help from tech support but they are worthless. I highly recommend that you do not buy Quicken Deluxe 2007. There must be some other financial software out there, and anything else would surely work better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Frustration with software bugs and LOUSY tech support
I have been using Quicken since 1999 very happily.Unfortunately, I decided to upgrade from 2005 to 2007.It will not let me print reports, and every time I try, it crashes my computer.I spent over 5 hours on the phone with Tech Support in India and they just kept running through their pre-scripted solutions which never fixed the problem. Now I'm going back to using 2005 and will lose all the data that I entered since I upgraded to 2007.I'm VERY unhappy with this product and with how Intuit handled (or didnt' handle) my problem.Stick with your current version.Quicken is a great product, but the 2007 version has too many problems. ... When Apple introduced its first generation of Intel-powered Macs, the "Are you a Mac or aPC person" question suddenly became moot. With the new Intel Mac machines, you can have the best of both Macintosh and PC worlds. Unfortunately, switching between operating systems on the new Intel Macs can be a time-consuming process. With Parallels Desktop, you can run Windows applications along with your Macintosh programs -- right on your Mac, side-by-side -- so you never have to suffer through frustrating shut-downs and re-boots just to run a program you want.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars so much faster than Virtual PC
As a long-time Apple/Mac user whose office is PC based, I used Virtual PC for years. It saved me the cost of having to buy a Windows PC, but was sometimes agonizingly slow. Parallels on my MacBook runs refreshingly fast. It was fairly easy to install. The only problem with Parallels is that you need to buy a copy of the operating system and install it on Parallels. In my case I bought and installed XP Pro. I had some minor issues when trying to run a wireless app (SlingPlayer), but solved these fairly quickly. All other applications (all business) have installed and run with no problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Simple to Use, Value for the Money, Stable
I am not going to repeat all the great things about this product, but I am going to clear up some confusion for the rest of us.Unlike what the other recommender wrote, I had no problems with my Dell Photo 720 USB Printer (maybe s/he forgot to "connect" the printer). In the world of Parallels Desktop for Mac, all devices, e.g. iSight, USB ports, disc drives..., could be connected to either Mac OS X or Windows, but not simulateously. Therefore, his/her USB printer was probably "connected" to Mac OS X but not to Windows.
2-0 out of 5 stars This is still in Beta
They have no business using you as their venture capitalist and making you pay to be a beta tester. It's chocky full of bugs. i.e. You can't use a USB printer in Windows XP., many more known bugs ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars PC-Cillin 2007 buggy and resource hog
Well I did install 2007 vice my 2006 edition with these results.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great
I used Norton for years then switched to Zone Alarm Suite (way to resource intensive), this product out performs both and at a lower overall cost.

4-0 out of 5 stars Problem
Okay, now that I've had this for a little while, I notice that I'm getting a lot of "This program is not responding" freezes when using the internet. Other than that, I thougt the user interface was improved from the 2006 version now that they allow you to view the name and type of spyware they found, and allows you to remove them one at a time, or all at once.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not Nancy Drew's Best
I was very excited when I heard that the newest Nancy Drew PC game would take place in Paris and yet, it didn't live up to my expectiations. The running errands and chains of "if you do this for me then i'll give you..." that always appear in these games were more tedious than any before and took up most of the game.Beside that I had trouble understanding the plot, many elements of the game were not explained (like why one character had electrical engeneering books), and the motive of the criminal was too far fetched to believe.Combined with the fact that the Parisian setting was not used to it's full potential, Danger by Design is a sign that Herinteractive is running out of ideas.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nancy Drew Rocks
Even though Nancy Drew does rock, this wasn't my favorite game by HerInteractive.I know it takes Herinteractive a lot of pressure and time to create these games. My feeling is that The Nancy Drew game series is starting to decline. All the Nancy Drew games I have played I would rate 5 stars.Danger by Design disapointed me due to lack of diolague and how many things did not add up.One example is the why did someone not explain why s/he had a certain book.Of course the graphics are AMAZING and the characters have their charm as always, and Nancy Drew is still the best.I just hope that Herinteractive does a better job on their next game "Creature of Kapa Cave."

4-0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Fashion/Puzzle Game!
I think this game rocks! You should try the demo at herinteractive.com first because it is a perfect example of what the game is like. I loved it because I love fashion but even if you aren't a total fashion fanatic like me you'll still love the latest installment in the Nancy Drew PC game series. It is by far the best that I've played although I've only played 4 and 5 besides this one.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of Two Top Software My Daughter Loves
Right along with the Giggles software this is the highest ranking software for my 3-year-old daughter. As Giggles taught her mouse movement and clicks, Kid Pix Delux has given her a new freedom of interactivity. While she can drag and drop amazing backgrounds, she loves to create lines and circles as they stretch and make goofy sounds. I set this program to automatically start when she turns on her computer. For some reason she loves to exit out of Kid Pix Delux first, go to Giggles (search Amazon for this product,) giggle at the cutest giggles when this program starts, and then comes right back to Kid Pix Delux to do her art work. The CD I bought is for Windows.

1-0 out of 5 stars can't download to mac

5-0 out of 5 stars Leaves Ghost in the dust ! Great results either using it installed or booting via CD
I never used the trial versions and then later upgradedby purchasing the serial # or key # like some other reviewers did.
5-0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly
I've been trying a number of backup programs and thought I had a pretty good one but needed something that would create a drive image and so bought Acronis for that purpose. However, it worked so well for the image backup, that I also tried it for my regular backups. Now it's the only backup program I use.
4-0 out of 5 stars Acronis True Image Backup 9.0
In terms of value, reliability, and ease of use, Acronis True Image 9 stands head and shoulders above most of the other backup software out there (e.g. Ghost, Dantz Retrospect, to name but two). Don't look to the folks at Acronis for great product support, however, because you're not likely to get it ... at least I never have, in the three years or so that I've been using their products. A couple of hints to those new to this software: (1) If you are installing your Acronis secure zone on a dual option Firewire/USB external hard drive, DO NOT use USB; always, always, always use Firewire instead. (No matter what they may tell you, True Image 9 IS NOT properly supported by prevailing USB 2.0 architecture, let alone the older 1.1, and if your external hard drive is USB 2 only, you may be in for a lot of headaches.) (2) If you are reinstalling Windows, haven't updated your applications in some time, AND you happen to own Acronis Privacy Suite as well, DO NOT download antispyware definitions updates directly from the Privacy Suite GUI; instead, go to the Acronis Updates page. Download the largest (oldest) applicable updates file from there, and install OFFLINE. Otherwise you will find that True Image 9 stops working and has to be reinstalled. (3) If you have a printer or other peripheral hooked up to your USB port(s), DISCONNECT it (them) BEFORE starting any backup operations. Good luck. This is a good product. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Excelent! for a while...
I had The Sims 1 for a long time before I got this game, and I was looking forward to its release in Mac. I wasn't disappointed. This is a really fun game, with alot of new features. Unfortunately, like the old one, I became easily tired with it. The Sims 2 gets pretty repetative. It is still worth it, because if you get a new expansion pack every once in a while it makes it really fun again.
1-0 out of 5 stars Slow on 1.5GHz w/ 1.25GbRam
I've got a 12'' PowerPC PowerBook with 1.5GHz cpu, 1.25Gb of ram, and 64mb graphic card. And the game is very choppy and laggy. This definitely detracts a lot from the game play.
4-0 out of 5 stars Runs better on Mac
If you have a Mac, this game is worth getting. It has cool videos to go with special scenes which is a neat new feature.I find that it runs better on the Mac but that may be because I didn't have a very good PC.I've always been in to playing the Sims so if you like the Sims this is a good buy. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Insecurity Issues
After using Norton products for the past five years I found myself thoroughly displeased with this one. To me, Norton's best features are its adblocking component, its antivirus protection and its firewall. Unfortunately, immediately after the install my Windows XP control panel froze and I could no longer uninstall any other software. It simply would not work and since I have a lot of software on my PC, it was at the very least, a most irritating feature.
1-0 out of 5 stars Nortons internet security 2006/bad buy
purchased a new computer. installed nortons internet security 2006 on it and my beautiful, fast, accurate system is now as bad as an early 386!! i can't even uninstall it (Is there a way?) tech support sent me to a website that offered to sell me additional norton's products and no help. i can't even uninstall w/ add remove/ or wipe programs. it hangs up my system whenever i try to access it or other programs as well, forget about being able to see my email! right click on the systems tray icon and the computer freezes. my new system is a mess!!!!! i do not trust norton's any more. i gave it a 1 star because there was no zero choice.

2-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money - if ccapp.exe crashes
If you have tried this program and/or the antivirus and you have seen ccapp.exe errors or your PC crashes unexpectedly, it is because ccapp.exe is a Symantec program.Up until very recently, I had assumed (DUH) it was a Microsoft application. Then I got fed up and called my brother who is somewhat of a computer genius, and he told me right away what it was.I have been using Norton Antivirus and the Security Suite for years now. Always upgrading, usually through the boxed version, (there is a difference between the versions from different years).I have used it on many computers low and high-end and laptops.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful computer animation and fun story
Kids don't usually learn much science (in public school anyway) and this computer game REALLY helps to fill that void. It is educational, VERY attractively designed, interesting, and my [...] daughter really enjoys it! It's not too hard either.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good blend of storytelling and fun
We got "Math Blaster" for our six-year-old, who has been a very savvy computer user since he was 18 months old.It was so difficult to maneuver the character (jump over wrong answers, run through correct ones) he actually cried over it.
5-0 out of 5 stars My 5 year old adores this game!
My 5 year old son love the Mia character and the stories. He loves the math(which does involve time), too! Even though the age group for this game is 6-10, he had no problems on Level 1. He only needed a little help with the time telling. As for the people that say this isn't educational enough I would say that it's not boring! My son has played the game over and over and never tires of Mia! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!!DO NOT BUY
As aDigital Photographer and a MAC user, I found iPhoto crashes when you try to IMPORT any DIGITAL (only)l pictures from Adobe Photosop CS & Adobe Elemebts 2. I can downlaod my pictures to iPhoto from my Digital camera (D70), export them to my pictures folder, adjust the pictures using either above mentioned software, but cannot Import any of them. Go to MacRumors, you'll see that you're not alone.Hey APPLE?? When are you going to fix this????

4-0 out of 5 stars iPhoto 6
I purchased iLife specifically for iPhoto 6. I haven't looked at the other programs on this DVD. I find iPhoto 6 to be very helpful in downloading, managing, and editing digital photos

4-0 out of 5 stars Notfor PMG3
Might be a good product but I'll never know.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice results but lousy user experience
I'm always reluctant to upgrade any Adobe products and the upgrades from Elements 2 to 3 to 4 have been no different.I upgraded to 4 simply because 3 would not run when we switched to Tiger on our Quicksilver.3 would run fine on two Powerbooks with the same flavor of Tiger, but not on the Quicksilver (???).
5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
It takes a little time and effort to learn but is well worth it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Slow and clumsy
I bought the elements ready to take on my photo library and have fun editing.Unfortunately, after photoshop successfully and easily organized my photos, the rest was downhill. If you're in the market for a photo organizer, this is a great product, but if you want to edit photos in ANY way, don't get your hopes up.It is exhaustingly clumsy! It's editing functions are not user friendly, are slow, and it even freezes regularly while editing.I give this 2 stars for it's organizing capabilities and 0 stars for it's editing capabilities.I'll probably try a few other products or keep this one for organizing and use another for editing until someone gets it right. ...
