1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!!DO NOT BUY
As aDigital Photographer and a MAC user, I found iPhoto crashes when you try to IMPORT any DIGITAL (only)l pictures from Adobe Photosop CS & Adobe Elemebts 2. I can downlaod my pictures to iPhoto from my Digital camera (D70), export them to my pictures folder, adjust the pictures using either above mentioned software, but cannot Import any of them. Go to MacRumors, you'll see that you're not alone.Hey APPLE?? When are you going to fix this????

    4-0 out of 5 stars iPhoto 6
I purchased iLife specifically for iPhoto 6. I haven't looked at the other programs on this DVD. I find iPhoto 6 to be very helpful in downloading, managing, and editing digital photos

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice results but lousy user experience
I'm always reluctant to upgrade any Adobe products and the upgrades from Elements 2 to 3 to 4 have been no different.I upgraded to 4 simply because 3 would not run when we switched to Tiger on our Quicksilver.3 would run fine on two Powerbooks with the same flavor of Tiger, but not on the Quicksilver (???).
5-0 out of 5 stars Great product
It takes a little time and effort to learn but is well worth it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Slow and clumsy
I bought the elements ready to take on my photo library and have fun editing.Unfortunately, after photoshop successfully and easily organized my photos, the rest was downhill. If you're in the market for a photo organizer, this is a great product, but if you want to edit photos in ANY way, don't get your hopes up.It is exhaustingly clumsy! It's editing functions are not user friendly, are slow, and it even freezes regularly while editing.I give this 2 stars for it's organizing capabilities and 0 stars for it's editing capabilities.I'll probably try a few other products or keep this one for organizing and use another for editing until someone gets it right. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Final Draft 7 does the job.
When I wrote my incredible screenplay on Final Draft 7 I was amazed. My first screenplay was done on Word and took forever to format. The only problem is that my screenplay sits and waits for representation--it's an awe-inspiring story and I can be reached at wlux22 at aol dot com.
    5-0 out of 5 stars A Beginner's Thoughts.
Even though I have done a lot of writing in my life, I had never written a complete screenplay.I've had lots of ideas, but had never written them down.I finally decided to get some of these ideas out on paper.I knew from talking with friends who already work in the industry that script readers are very particular when it comes to the format of a screenplay and that one formatting error can cause someone to throw away an otherwise wonderful script.I considered other screenwriting software, but after speaking with my industry insider friends and doing other research I felt that FINAL DRAFT was the best software to get.I've been using FINAL DRAFT 7 for awhile now and have not had any problems with it.For writing screenplays, I love this software.I have not had any trouble with the software not loading and I've not lost anything I've ever written (though I tend to save a lot of my work frequently anyway).I've read most of the other reviews about FINAL DRAFT 7 on Amazon and it seems that people either really like the software or they hate it.I fall into the former category and have found it quite useful. For a beginning screenwriter, it works wonderfully. The only downside I have with the software is that it is quite expensive. As an educator, I was able to get a discount. FINAL DRAFT offers a discount for students, educators, and military personnel, but if you're not able to get that discount then the software is about double the cost that it should be.

4-0 out of 5 stars What a transformation!
Reformatted previously written scripts. The script was transformed to a professional looking one.I was going to rate this a 5 but reformatting is a slow process but well worth it!I have still a lot to learn! Loved it immediately. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great replacement for Microsoft Word, for most purposes
I was stunned when I started using Pages v2... because I'd been convinced that Apple would never get a word processor right. AppleWorks pretty much sucked (tedious interface, limited capabilities, never fully updated for Mac OS X). TextEdit is nothing more than a rough draft of an application.

1-0 out of 5 stars Inferior encoding quality
I have used free ffmgeg4 for a while to get movies for my son on the road on Sony PSP. Purchased Popcorn 2 in hope it will provide more convenience with chapter/features selection.
1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I am at a loss to see the use for this program.I have used Toast 5 and 6 and found them both to be well thought out applications.Aside from compressing (and therefore reducing the quality of) video to fit on a 1 hour DVD (unnecessary if you have a dual layer burner) I can't see much you can do with Popcorn that you can't already do with iLife or Toast. It is very frustrating that the .mov, mpeg 4 and other such file formats can only be used when you are transferring to a portable.Dropping those file formats into the program when you want to burn a DVD produces an error message.Save your money for something useful.

4-0 out of 5 stars half dvd manager, all portable
This is a portable player software program with some extras. That's how I see it.The software does all the things needed to convert video to portable players. The specs tell the story. As for user experience, it's easy to use.I can fit a lot on my iPod now.You can make dvd copies too, but you will probably need something else to handle music cds/dvds. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars The best photo editing software in the industryis now even better
If you're like me, you've probably been using Photoshop for years. It seems that Adobe has done it again and made the best photo editing software in the industry even better.Adobe has done their homework and listened to the users. They have made Photoshop more powerful by tweaking some existing features and developed new features as well.
5-0 out of 5 stars WOW. Great new features.
I love the new exposure and gama correction tools as well as the perspective filter. This application did cause me to do a complete system overhall but NOW my Mac runs like an Olympian. The more robust and powerful this application gets, the more taxing it is on your system. A few things have chaged, such as how you link and select layers but after getting used to it I believe it is an improvement. Adobe Bridge (the replacement for the file browser) is an awsome application too, allowing you to run batches in both Illustrator and InDesign as well as Photoshop. You can preview documents in most formats also. As a professional designer and photographer this application is indespensible.

4-0 out of 5 stars A gem that can be enhanced and polished
Photoshop is one of the great software products ever created. It has continued to evolve to match the needs of advanced digital photography, offering some really astonishing capabilities -- assuming that you have the time and necessary instructional materials. It has a steep learning curve.

5-0 out of 5 stars Adobe still has a lock on the market.
It's not that Photoshop is so great at what it does, really. It's that everyone else's programs are so far behind it. Every release gets a little better. Even the cheaper Photoshop Elements release has the new Shadow/Highlight tool and several of the other great Photoshop feaures. I'd love to buy a photo editing program by someone else. There are plenty of things about Photoshop that occasionally annoy me. Color correction can be some kind of voodoo ritual, for instance. There's just nothing else out there worth considering as a replacement, though. So, uh...I guess I'm a loyal Adobe customer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware CS2 -- stick wih CS!
If I had $1 for every time a CS2 app crashed and made expend real hours to redo work, I'd have about $10. And that's enough for me to say, BEWARE of this set of applications! Adobe has allowed them to get too bloated, too slow, and the results are that all the programs (but principally GoLive, InDesign and Illustrator, in that order) are crashy and will quite suddenly, forcing you to expend the precious hours of your life redoing work you just finished. I cannot stress how disappointed I am in Adobe, and how distraught I am that we as a nation have allowed the only two competing companies to join, thus guaranteeing that there will be less quality and innovation in the future. In any event, do not buy the CS2 apps, Adobe does not deserve your support!

5-0 out of 5 stars There Is No Substitute
Photoshop CS 2 is in a league of it's own. It can be used to do professional photo retouching and correcting but it is also probably the best painting package out there. It's not perfect however. There are some features that high end compositing and color grading programs like Inferno and DaVinci have that Photoshop could use, and the warper is just bare bones but then we're talking big bucks and no doubt Photoshop will eventually have something like them. Except for a few filters, it can function in 16 bits per channel which was a long time coming but now it's here, making it a professional product. Still, as far as I'm concerned, the ultimate paint program has yet to be written. ... Read more

I wanted to order the latest Mac version of iLife. Upon receiving your Email solicitation, I automaticaqlly selected the first iLife item that appeared on Amazon's page. Unfortunately, it was for iLife '05, rather than iLife '06.Since I already had iLife'05, I had to send it back and reorder iLife '06. To Amazon, I recommend you feature the latest version of the product and list the discounted older version thereafter. To us Buyers, i've learned to be more aware and detailed in my ordering. It saves everyone a lot of pain and suffering.

I've been a Mac advocate since I switched from Windows to Mac in 2003 and may even consider myself a Mac biggot howeveer, I'm not that impressed with iLife 06 as I'm not really gaining any noticable functionality, features. The new program iWeb is a concept thats been done successfully by two others, Sandvox and RapidWeaver. In either case, their functionality and features far outweigh that of iWeb and give me no reason what so ever to use iWeb.I am a .Mac subscriber and am even thinking that's becomming a waste of my money as I'm not that impressed with their email system but thats another story.

5-0 out of 5 stars Premiere Pro 2.0
Whilst Adobe are touting a range of upgrades in 2.0 the only one I needed was the mulicam facility. Now editing any shot with multiple cameras (up to 4) recording simiultaneously is fantastic. If you previously used a Panasonic MX12 or AVE5 (or similar) then this is a total joy. Selecting the live camera is as easy as pressing 1 to 4 and after you've made your camera selections you can easily go back and move the edit points etc.

1-0 out of 5 stars It Was OK, Until It REALLY Wasn't
I had used AppleWorks for OS X fairly happily for some time.I never loved it; the interface seemed both sparse and clunky and the included templates were a little lacking.(How about a simple invoice template replacing one of hose certificates.)It gave me some problems when I tried to make a document with slightly more creative formatting and send it to a PC user, but it was at least servicable. When i bought a new Mac, it came preinstalled, so I continued to use it.Then one day, my boyfriend recieved a contract via e-mail that needed to be printed up, signed, and returned. To make a long story short, we dicovered after the fact that AppleWorks had somehow randomly selected a few paragraphs and changed the text to strikethrough. It showed up this way on both of our computers, noth Macs running AppleWorks, but not on my PC running Microsoft Word at work.Fortunately, we managed to sort everything out and thanks to some very nice HR people, no harm was done. But under different circumstances, AppleWorks could have quite literally cost my boyfriend a job.Needless to say, we went out at our earliest convenience and picked up Microsoft Office for Mac.Also needless to say, we will not be using AppleWorks ever again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Clunker of an app
Appleworks really needs a thorough overall. In the latest version, the interface under OSX sucks. Why, oh why cannot the document window automatically expand to fill the screen, and let's have a page layout view that makes sense.
4-0 out of 5 stars Appleworks review
I am pleased with it. However I am disappointed that the "learn" the word in the spelling is not enabled. I like it better than Microsoft word. However I liked MS works the best and they don't make it anymore for apple. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the investment
I own an older copy of this product and have used the heck out of it on various Macs over the last 5+ years. Believe it or not, it was the PC version, but I am able to open all of the .wmf clip art files in Adobe Illustrator to use as raw material, deconstructing the vector forms to make fast, original illustrations and logos. A real timesaver if you don't feel like hand-drawing a mandolin, corn-on-the-cob, bicycle tire, or what have you. The huge catalog of images included is a great reference, too. I can only imagine how handy the Mac version will be and definitely plan on buying it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware
In a collection of 48 CD-ROMs I might expect that one of the 48 might be bad.Maybe.I would *hope* they would all function, but if one was bad I wouldn't be too surprised. But my first experience with this set was that the first 10 I chose (at random) would not mount.Wouldn't mount on my old G3.Wouldn't mount on my G4 Titanium.Wouldn't mount on my G4 Mirror Drive.Tried some more...some would mount and some wouldn't.Called the company to complain...they sent a new batch...all 48.Did it help? No.Same problem.Just for the record, I don't have trouble with other CDs.Just these. With the batch I have now, I'd say at least half of the CDs do not mount properly. On days when I know I'm going to have to look through this collection for a piece of artwork, I dread it...it's such a hassle. Some good stuff there, but not worth much when you can't get at it.

5-0 out of 5 stars One massive library
This is one massive image library. The package is so large that 48 CDs are provided. A catalog comprised of over 1250+ pages accompanies the discs in this collection. The categories/subcategories that the art is divided into, as well as the catalog make for quick, simple searching.

5-0 out of 5 stars A move in the right direction
I'm a big fan of iWork and have always looked for new office apps that out-perform Microsoft's apps which have become so feature-rich that functionality has become akward.I love Pages and the formatting features it provides.I do more layout work than word processing so I'm real happy with the way Pages works for me.Keynote is nice too.I don't believe in lots of slide transitions and builds when making a presentation so a lot of the flash and panash that PowerPoint tries to interject is useless to me.You have lots of capability with Keynote but its clean, simple interface and robust formatting and import capabilities really works for me.
4-0 out of 5 stars iWork 06 is Powerful but Limited
Apple's iWork software presents two applications:Pages and Keynote which is Apple's answer to Microsoft's Publisher and Power Point. As someone who has used both, I can honestly say that iWork blows Publisher and Power Point clean out of the water.Keynote has some added features such as 3D graphs and the capaibility to add numbers in charts (like a very limited spread sheet) added in this version. You can make truly professional looking mind blowing presentations with Keynote that will make any presentation look like a multimedia jewel.Pages allows you to do desktop publishing and print media with the finesse and end results of professional looking print catalogs and brochures. Both applications are well designed and, just like all of the iLife apps, feature the classic Apple interface whereby all of your media content is available and intermeshed into the work flow.Thereis not really any new earth shattering features in 06 from the 05 version, but mainly just tweaks and enhancements.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good, but still not perfect
Well its definetly improved version since the last one, but they still have a lot of things to do.The biggest problem is Pages. If text has specific symbols, like Greek letters and u try to export your file to doc, forget it.u'll have the same problem as 10 yrs ago, either funky symbols or underline dashes.Keynote is much better. But if u r a scientist and not a sales man, both packages still have a lot of room for improvement. However, I'm still happy with this purchase, because it's Apple soft and looks much nicer than any MS software will get in the future. ... By far the most intuitive and powerful video editing software I have ever worked with.Set up was simple and carefree.I am working with 1g but will probably upgrade to 2g.You need the version 3.5 towork with the new Intel Mac machines. This upgrade works perfectly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Professional Video Editing for the Masses!
I have been a Final Cut user for about six years now.I started with an education copy of FCP 2. I then purchased FCP 3, but because of cost considerations, I chose to buy FCE HD rather than upgrade to FCP HD.

2-0 out of 5 stars GoLive: a terrible, terrible product
I want to warn you about GoLive -- it is the most frustrating, least reliable, most crash-prone app I have used since switching to OS X. GoLive CS2 crashes regularly for me several times a day, and has even managed to crash WHILE SAVING A VERY IMPORTANT FILE, which wiped out an entire day's work for me, causing me to redo it all. Bottom line, Adobe does not deserve your money for this application, which they clearly dislike within the company (when you make a bug report, it's interesting to note that it's called GoLive, not Adobe GoLive). Sadly, the only thing to do is go to Dreamweaver...but that's not an option for me since its interface is not something I'm willing to use.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not good, pathetic
Well the price reflects the quality of these loops. You will be getting the big bunch of primitive, annoying loops. Compared one to one with loops I'm getting from any major loops producer, Big Fish for an example, these are laughable, like beginner drummer's exercises. Yes, there're many of them, but they ended up been deleted from my drives completely to give a way to the real stuff. These may be Ok, if you make some 20 seconds intro for Final-Cut's movie, but as for music these are totally worthless. I'm not a drummer but even I can do better with pads. Go to web sites of any major loop producing companies and listen to the loops they produce and compare. I think it is better idea to buy five great bits for a song rather than load the drive with this bundle of garbage. ... Read more
