1-0 out of 5 stars WARNING!!!DO NOT BUY
As aDigital Photographer and a MAC user, I found iPhoto crashes when you try to IMPORT any DIGITAL (only)l pictures from Adobe Photosop CS & Adobe Elemebts 2. I can downlaod my pictures to iPhoto from my Digital camera (D70), export them to my pictures folder, adjust the pictures using either above mentioned software, but cannot Import any of them. Go to MacRumors, you'll see that you're not alone.Hey APPLE?? When are you going to fix this????

    4-0 out of 5 stars iPhoto 6
I purchased iLife specifically for iPhoto 6. I haven't looked at the other programs on this DVD. I find iPhoto 6 to be very helpful in downloading, managing, and editing digital photos

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent update
iLife 06 is a worthy upgrade. With iWeb, I was able to generate a completely new site from scratch very easily. The upgrades to iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD were also welcome, with both speed and feature improvement.

3-0 out of 5 stars Enahnced features, new apps, so what.
I've been a Mac advocate since I switched from Windows to Mac in 2003 and may even consider myself a Mac biggot howeveer, I'm not that impressed with iLife 06 as I'm not really gaining any noticable functionality, features. The new program iWeb is a concept thats been done successfully by two others, Sandvox and RapidWeaver. In either case, their functionality and features far outweigh that of iWeb and give me no reason what so ever to use iWeb.I am a .Mac subscriber and am even thinking that's becomming a waste of my money as I'm not that impressed with their email system but thats another story.
5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing.

I downloaded the software to see how set up was and found that, while it is powerful software, it is a nightmare to set up.I don't want to learn programming (applescript) in order to have a business phone system.I want to buy a car, not a kit car with assembly (and some fabrication!) required! If you want to make a career out of setting up a voicemail system this software/hardware this appears to be the product for you!I have ordered a competing product, Phonevalet, and plan to write a review on that product. (they do not offer a download to take a look at the software but they do offer a 30 day moneyback guarantee) I hope this helps you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid product, great support, amazing depth of features
I've been using a Mac for my voicemail since my Performa 6320, and Phlink is the best Mac voicemail product ever. I have it running on an old 600MHz iBook and it works great. The basic functionality (like sending yourself emails of the recordings) is simple to set up, and for advanced users the AppleScript ability is awesome. By using a simple folder hierarchy, you can create unlimited mailboxes and voice trees for companies. The documentation is good and easy to understand.
2-0 out of 5 stars this is hard
So I've been tinkering with this for a few hours now, and I have to say I was disappointed by how much of the cool functionality appears to be dependent on the user's knowledge of AppleScript. I'm a fairly technical person, but I don't have a lot of confidence when it comes to tweaking or merging applescripts. This is way over my head, and I've been using a Mac since 1984. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Much Better Than Expected
I had been using dreamweaver 4 forever. I had upgraded to MX but could not stand it. MX once opened for the first time you look at it and go "what the hell is going on here" nothing was where you thought it would be, I am pretty sure the designers were drunk. So I went back to using 4. Just got 8 and it is smooth and easy. Things are much different but all better in so many ways. I like programs that you do not have to look at the instructions when you upgrade to a new version. They realy put some thought into making it very intuitive. Go for it and dont look back. Avoid MX like the plague it is though.

1-0 out of 5 stars Beware -NOT the real Adobe Product! Seller Is Scamming You!
I ordered Dreamweaver 8 as advertised by this seller, which depicts product in a green box. Seller advisedvia email product was "backordered " and was shipping "Webtools" from Adobe. He admitted in email "some people don't think this is right"Seller claimed "Webtools" contained Dreamweaver and other Adobe products. I contacted Adobe and learned no product exists. I recieved a nonworking CD, not in an Adobe box, but in an envelope with no Adobe registration numbers or product manuals. I called Adobe and they advised that "Webtools" is not a real product. Buy the real product from Adobe!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver 8 is a dream come true.
Dreamweaver 8 is the best HTML editor on the market hands down.

Any business that requires documents to be shared, reviewed, and editedacross broad networks will undoubtedly benefit from Adobe Acrobat 5.0. If you'venever used Acrobat before, you'll be amazed at how easy it is to convert Officedocuments and Web pages to PDF files (portable document format). If you alreadyuse Acrobat, new features and enhancements--including the ability to uploaddocuments to Web sites and intranets--make this version a worthwhile upgrade.

5-0 out of 5 stars Adobe Acrobat 5.0
I was familiar with this product before I purchased it. I was leary about purchasing it without the manual or other documentation -- just the CD -- but I took a chance, based on Amazon.com's reputation for standing by their processes.
5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best deal going right now for Acrobat
By the time I was done reading the reviews for Adobe Acrobat 6.0 I was depressed. Not only do I not have Windows XP, or Windows 2000, or NT installed in my machine (The only operating systems that will work with 6) I also couldn't muster up the confidence in the product after so many people were giving it the thumbs down. I want to create an eBook, and Adobe Reader is the most popular reader out there, with some 400 million, to a half a billion users with it installed. What a dilemma. I kept coming back to read some more. Finally I found the answer. I bought a new Adobe Acrobat 5.0 here at Amazon from one of their vendors, and it works great with my Windows 98SE. I planned on buying the 6.0 upgrade after they got the bugs out, and or I got a new computer with XP. Then I found out that 5.0 was the only version before, and that was the professional version. 6.0 Standard is a geared down version of 5. Ok, so it has some additional features, but it is missing all the rest of the professional features that 5 has. 3-0 out of 5 stars Merely a Stepping Stone
Since, for some unknown reason, Adobe doesn't offer a direct upgrade path from Acrobat 3 to Acrobat 6, I bought this Acrobat 5 Upgrade merely so I could qualify for a free upgrade to Acrobat 6.Not only is this silly of Adobe, it's also expensive.Instead of buying an Acrobat 6 package, sticking my old Acrobat 3 CD into the drive, and continuing on my way without further hassle or expense, I had to buy the Acrobat 5 upgrade, go to the Adobe website to find their customer support phone number, call them via their 800 number, get them copies of the receipt, pay a token shipping cost, and then install the new software. What's even worse is that I've spent over six weeks trying to do that.Amazon got me the package immediately. But, so far, I've had to talk to Adobe (at their expense) five times. The first time was to find out that the upgrade existed and get the instructions for faxing the information to them.Supposedly, my fax never arrived. Then, I had to talk to them about that and get a snail-mail address.Supposedly, THAT package never arrived. Then, with my next call, I managed to get an email address to send the documents to.Again, supposedly, that never arrived. Finally, I talked to a person who had me re-fax just the receipt and my Acrobat 3 serial number. She called me back within a half an hour and we completed the whole process (confirmed my shipping address and got a credit card number for the shipping fee).Besides the hassle I had to go through, this upgrade must have cost Adobe a bundle in phone and support personnel costs. The free upgrade period from Acrobat 5 to 6 is over now, but Adobe really needs to come up with a better way for their old Acrobat 3 customers to upgrade. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Stable and pretty? Yes. Worth the upgrade from 10.3? Arguably, no.
If you're reading this review, odds are you own a Mac a little over 1.5 years old (with 10.3 preinstalled) and are considering the Tiger update. Even more so at its nowdiscounted price (with a new OS looming on the horizon). Is it worth the price and effort to take the plunge? Unless you're a cutting-edge user running a G5 system, probably not.
1-0 out of 5 stars If I could put negative 1 trillionstars I would
There is no question. This is probably the worst operating system to ever come out into the computer industry. Basically, its a piece... Well, you know what I mean. I promise you, there is a VERY GOOD REASON WHY WINDOWS IS THE MOST POPULAR OS IN THE WORLD. Most of what this OS has is stolen from other OS's, even things like widgets (on the dashboard), minimizing windows (from Microsoft Windows), the very NAME "Windows" (used to describe open applications on the desktop), maximizing windows, virtually everything on it is copied from other OS's, and there is a reason why Apple did this. Their OS is terrible, and they needed to steal from other companies in order to make theirs popular, which even now isn't as popular as Windows, which it stole primarily from. The reason I am writing this review isn't just to trash something on the net, its to help others not fall into the trap that Apple makes out of its OS. Sure, alot of proffesional people use it, but that's because they only need to do one thing, and Apple can do that, but nothing else. If you need to do anything other than browse the web (Apple can't even do that very well, with Safari), then get Windows.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buying a Mac? Learn about OSx86 and VMware.
Apple announced that Intel core duo processors will be used in the new range of Macs. Hardware developers and programmers and just about everyone else ask what is stopping OSX from running on a non-apple computer with Intel processors... turns out that there was not much except for some code in the OSX software. Then somebody changes the code in the fall of 2005. Now everyone who wants to see and use OSX before they buy gets VMware, obtains a copy of OSx86 and boots the latest Mac OS on Windows or Linux. This is not dual booting. VMware is virtualization software. Modern hardware is fast enough to run other Operating Systems at 75% or above speed at the same time. Seeing OSX running on Windows or Linux will have eyes open wide in the room around you. For Mac users who have shelled out their hard earned cash on a Mac, seeing this reaches down into the very depth of the soul. Apple announces a new boot camp that allows Macs to dual boot Windows, but not virtualize it. Back in the 80s - 90s there was good reason to own Mac hardware. In the 21st century all hardware companies are mostly using third world sources to build their components. So in terms of Mac hardware versus clone PCs, there is not much difference anymore. OSx86 booting on a non-apple computer is the biggest event in the history of Apple Macintosh. It will make you think.

5-0 out of 5 stars seems to be as good as it claims
This product was recommended to me by a computer-expert friend as much easier to use than the usual ones.I am now almost finished with my first website (which includes lots of graphics, pop-up windows, and a music download) and it has really been a breeze.I don't consider myself good with computers, but this program let me worry much more about what I wanted to put on the site, and how I wanted it to look, than about how I was going to implement that. The tutorials in the included "Getting Started" booklet are well worth working through, and the "Using Freeway" book, also included, goes into more detail -- a refreshing change from those programs that come with zero paper help documentation. And the results look professional -- as soon as another friend saw my half-done first website, he wanted to hire me to do one for him! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars disappointing-a mistake
Unfortunately, I purchased this program because of Adobe's reputation. Maybe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat are great programs, but adobe has really struck out with golive.it has a clunky interface. the ftp browser hangs on me everytime I upload.4-0 out of 5 stars A great web application for designers
If you love photoshop, illustrator, InDesign... you should use GoLive for your webs. Some will say this application is difficult to learn and overburdened with adobe-style tool palettes, and this is fair criticism. If you are a photoshop user and have spent the many hours and weeks it takes to become proficient at using Adobe's GUI, then move to GoLive and you will quickly find yourself at home.1-0 out of 5 stars A VERY UN-intuitiveproduct!!

I bought this package based on a friend's recommendation. Looking back I wish I had saved the money and just bought Dreamweaver. I think they are both great programs, but from my experience you need only need one. If youown Illustrator or Photoshop you can build your graphics there and importthem into Dreamweaver. If you don't just buy Fireworks, you can build anentire site and all your graphics in this program.4-0 out of 5 stars A great program, documentation could be better
A complete novice in web design, I just spent 4 days developing an 8 page web site with Dreamweaver, which I had never used before. The web site's great, and I love the program. An excellent tutorial guides you throughthe basic steps, and Macromedia provides a 400+page downloadable referencemanual. A bit bulky, and difficult to find what I needed, but the programitself is pretty intuitive, once you've worked through the tutorial.Istill haven't figured out how to upload my HTML files using Dreamweaver (asfar as I can tell, you're supposed to be able to), which is why I rate thisonly a 4; otherwise, from uploading graphics and text to layout and links,a user friendly program that will have you on the www in no time at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver is a dream come true!
Dreamweaver is well beyond its opponets in web-design, and anybody who designs web pages should have this program! Packing every single tool you would need or ever want to make your website the way you want it,Dreamweaver is easy from the start. Although I'm not an actual owner ofDreamweaver, I have friends who own this product, and every one of them hasbeen blown away bit it, including me. This program is easy to use, and forthose who are still using old programs like "Visual Page", Isuggest that you upgrade to this program, which you will never regret. Manypeople still stick with the old fashioned way of making mouse-overs, butDreamweaver makes it easy, and this can be done in under a minute, withouthaving to spend hours on Java coding. I personally like this program muchmore then Adobe "GoLive", which are the two leading web-designprograms. Make your choice, but I think Dreamweaver is the true programthat will make every website look incredible. It's worth the price tag, every cent! The day will come soon when I hope to have the priviledge ofowning this program myself. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars So difficult, it hurts.
There was a time when there were applications, like PageMill, for people who needed a nice looking website but not every feature, option, protocol known to man.But now its pretty much all or nothing and GoLive gives you everything except ease of use, along with a host of non-intuitive icons to keep you guessing. To be fair, most of these exotic features, which used to crash everyone's browser can now be made to work--if you are a professional web designer. Then again, companies like Amazon and eBay seem to get by with simple websites so maybe there's a market for web software that just does the basics.
1-0 out of 5 stars Sold by the suite, must upgrade by the suite.
Heads up, if you bought Adobe Creative Suite 1 and then buy an upgrade like this one planning to upgrade just part of it, you're in for a rude awakening.
4-0 out of 5 stars the less exciting stepbrother
It's Monday December 5, 2005, and my review on Adobe GoLive CS2 is due. Here's the problem, or should I say "problems." First of all, it's very difficult for a non-professional reviewer to thoroughly investigate all the nuances of a sophisticated web design program like GoLive CS2 in the time alloted for this sort of thing. Wading through the intricate process of actually using an application to design a web site, which is the only way to really shake out the good and bad habits GoLive might exhibit is daunting and barely doable in such a short time. Review coordinators and software developers need to take this into consideration when reviewers take on such a task. Truly, twice the 26 days alloted would provide for more thorough and insightful reviews.

5-0 out of 5 stars Freeway gets you on the web fast!
I searched high and low on the internet to find Mac OSX software to develop my website, and am I glad I found Freeway!I had first tried using Adobe GoLive. What a headache!I slogged through their incomprehensible manual and I couldn't even figure out how to set up a new file. And I even had a 16-year-old computer whiz helping me!Dumped that program off my computer fast!
5-0 out of 5 stars Freeway Rocks!
Freeway 3.5 is super great! I'm an artist who was tired of pestering my web designer to update my site...and got tired of paying for it too...I have a decent design sense, so I did some research and found Freeway. I now do the website for the architectural firm I work at too. It really is super intuitive! There were a few bumps along the way...but overall I'm thrilled. Email the company that writes the program softpress.com to see if they have any online user group coupons to get the program cheaper! : ) ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A pretty piece of crud
I want to like this program. I've been very patient with it through many versions and upgrades, but this latest version is so full of bugs and quirks that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone! In theory GoLIve is great. But, like an enabler in a bad relationship, I've learned workarounds, and weird working habits just to keep the program from crashing. I'm actually pretty patient and methodical--I shudder to imagine what using this program would be like for a novice user. Don't waste your money--this is total junk!

1-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst pieces of software I have ever owned
I want to warn you about GoLive -- it is the most frustrating, least reliable, most crash-prone app I have used since switching to OS X. GoLive CS2 crashes regularly for me several times a day, and has even managed to crash WHILE SAVING A VERY IMPORTANT FILE, which wiped out an entire day's work for me, causing me to redo it all. Bottom line, Adobe does not deserve your money for this application, which they clearly dislike within the company (when you make a bug report, it's interesting to note that it's called GoLive, not Adobe GoLive). Sadly, the only thing to do is go to Dreamweaver...but that's not an option for me since its interface is not something I'm willing to use.
2-0 out of 5 stars Great!(when it works)
I initially had a great time with GoLive.Having never used an industrial strength web dev environment, I was a little intimidated.Without going through the training or documentation, I was able to figure out everything, with a little help from Google.

3-0 out of 5 stars Scary at first, but satisfied in the end
The first time I attempted to use this program, I was frightened. It was very confusing with so many windows and buttons (I was quite a novice at the time). After importing a site to it the I had written with ascii and using the help program that came along with it, it made sense to me. I really enjoy it now, and in only a few weeks I feel I have quite a firm grasp on web design. My only other complaint is its crashing problem. It crashes when I try to save sites and corrupts my site files (both the main and backup files) when I try to use the inspector.
1-0 out of 5 stars Crash much?
Although this application is filled with handy layout tools, you'll never get far into a development session without crashing. The magic crash key combination (maybe it's an Easter egg?!) is CTRL-1, which is supposed to bring up the Investigator window (essentially element properties). For me, it crashes the program about half the time (no exaggeration).Other things like simply typing in a table cell cause crashes as well.Skip this albatross and pick up a copy of Dreamweaver.

1-0 out of 5 stars Learning Organic Chemistry While Drunk Would Be Easier
I am 3/4 the way through the Classroom in a Book on Adobe GoLive CS.To say that the workbook and the software is NOT user-friendly is a gross understatement. It's probably easier to read a 1,000page book on HTML, JAVA, etc. programming that slog through this software. And I haven't even installed it.Complexity does not imply sophistication, at least not in this situation. This is Rube Golberg at its worst.WIth hundreds of pop up windows and subwindows, none of it intuitive, one suspects that the company geeks had fun creating this darling of theirs without considering the consumer. Adobe enters the arena of Web animation tools with LiveMotion 1.0, atool that's used to create vector-based animation for Web delivery. Many of theanimation-specific features are based on Adobe's After Effects, long a dominantplayer in the field of motion graphics and animation. 4-0 out of 5 stars Go Live for Macintosh
I purchased this with Photoshop 6.0 as a promotion and it is great for designing web graphics like buttons and adding shadows to your graphics, etc. The animations seem tricky, and it does not interface well with Dreamweaver like I hoped it would. It does not seem to be as easy to use as Flash or the other Macromedia products, but I heard that it is similar to After-Effects with the timeline feature and since I have that program too and want to learn how to use it, I felt that it would be better to stick to Adobe products for now. The interface with Photoshop and Illustrator is amazing. I am debating between using dreamweaver or GoLive as my Web Editor, and because of the Adobe interface I may stick to Go Live as well. My advice is is you have the Adobe products already try this out, but if you have Dreamweaver/Fireworks it may be better to get the Macromedia Flash product - it is the industry standard. ...
