Rip-Off
I've had nothing but problems with this software.After many attempts with customer support, they were unable to help me and simply gave up, saying that the problem, "was with my set-up, not their software."I finally uninstalled the program and threw it away.You are better off using your router's built-in security features.

Lies and then more lies
The product did not work with Parkervision routers, and evidently does not with others as well. The response from OTO software is that they would come up with a solution in a "timely" manner. Three months later an email to them resulted in the reply that they were not going to be doing anything like that at all. A waste of money and time.

Easy and it Works
I've often bought programs similar to this one and they didn't work much and were a waste. Not this!It's easy, and works! Useful to see the current connections too. They gave the correct list of default passwords for the routers. It works with the Linksys Range Expander and you can Friend/Foe/Unknown that devise. So far so good...
I have this software for about 4 months now and have no quams with it.You can set which programs can access the net without issues or you can set strict limitations such that the program (1) either has to ask permission to enter the net or (2) can not access the net at all.This is great considering that one my pc's has spyware that can not be removed.Annoying popups don't occur anymore as a result of restricting access of these spywares programs from going online.I'm also using Windows XP and find no compatibility issues when using ZAW Security, which another big plus.All in all a good program, especially for the price I got it for (19.99) ... Its smoked my PC
Just to put it plainly, this software sucks, after running automatic optimasation, my PC failed to reboot and had to restore the entire windows. thanks god for acronis softwre.

Monarch Software does some great things.
This is great software for anyone who needs to pull information out of massive computer reports or .pdf files.You give the software certain parameters about the report you are working with and, once you get it right, you get all of the information in a spreadsheet format that is extremely useable, can be easily exported to other files, reorganized, recalculated, etc.It does have a bit of a learning curve if you want to do its more complicated functions, however, the time spent learning the software could give you the information you can't get otherwise, and save you lots of time in the long run. ... WORSE ANTISPYWARE ON THE MARKET!!
Just purchased 2 of these at my local store, one for my daughter, one for myself..loaded it on my computer with three different users and will only work when the main user is logged on not the other two..ran the program says didn't find anything...ran free downloads from other antispyware sites and they came up with more then 20 bad objects...my daughter runs her pest patrol and comes up with nothing found..did the same thing with free scans and over 50 on hers..and she stills gets tons of pop-ups with "pest-patrol) on her system..contacted customer service (as bad as dell..all india people no americans)..emailed customer service still waiting for a reply after two weeks... WARNING DO NOT PURCHASE THIS... A BIG WASTE OF MONEY..those crooks at CA should go to jail for having such a BAD product on the market and ripping people off...The free stuff on the internet is better then this crap..take my word for it..you will be sorry if you buy this!!!

I installed Pest Patrol last year and it was fairly easy to use but I found the interface to be lame and the instructions confusing at times. When my subscription expired I tried CounterSpy which detected nearly 200 Spyware/Adware infections immediately after a Pest Patrol scan. CounterSpy also removed several hijacking problems that Pest Patrol did not. The CounterSpy interface is easy to use and understand is way ahead of Pest Patrol in this regard. I also use the free version of Ad-Aware and my PC has been running great. I run XP and have had no problems although I have heard of problems with other OS's.

One of the better pay programs
No single anti spyware program will find everything.But the sure bets are: Pay programs: Etrust's Pest Patrol, Webroots Spy Sweeper.

Haywire!
I am sitting here in a very frustrated state of mind. I have McAfee which has allowed a virus, Downloader AWX, to break into a file and I can locate no technical support. Their 1-800 is closed all weekend and today is Saturday. When their office is open it is virtually impossible to speak to a person.
Protection?Does McAfee know the meaning?
I purchased this software Novemer 2005.Installing on my 3 computers was a snap.However, 2 days after installing the software, updating, making sure the settings were all good, 2 virus attacked my desktop.I hoped Mcafee was doing it's job.Then my laptop started, every 5 min a new trojan popping up, spyware installing itself.Mcafee ignored the spyware completly, said it was cleaning the trojans.After each trojan catch, it would scan, say nothing was found, and boom another trojan.This got to the point you could not surf the internet.Until November I was a Norton user, never had trouble like this, never had spyware install itself, no trojans, nothing!Decided to try a system restore on my laptop to clear everything and reinstall Mcafee.After reinstall, I ran another full system scan.It said my laptop was a-ok.YOu shouldn't have to do a system restore to clean your system, that's what McAfee is supposed to protect it from!!!Purchased Norton 3 user Internet Security Suite 2006 1 day after system restore.Ran full system scan with Norton and shockingly it found viruses Mcafee overlooked.This is [...] software, doesn't protect a thing.Plus it cost me 150.00, Norton was 120.00, don't waste your money on McAfee.

An Underperformer
I have been trying to utilizse Internet Security 8 since October. I bought a 3 unit license which performs fine on one computer, but only catches half of the spam. On the second one, however,I downloaded it and the software declared it was installed. Never worked. The computer keeps popping up a McAfee error "an unexpected error has occured in MpfTrayerrors.txt" no matter what program it is in. If I try to uninstall it gives me another error " The installation cannot continue because some components are missing." I am stuck in limbo and cannot even get rid of the useless software. Their support is just as bad. I had to explain over and over again what the problem was to a new support agent on every call. All they could do, if you were even able to understand them, was read a scripted solution. Somehow I will eventually get it off my machine.

Easy to use, excellent software
I've owned and used BlackIce for over 7 years now. In all it's upgrades, it has been a non-intrusive, easy to use and effective software product. Bad Investment
This Software is not worth the money or the trouble. I had problems since day one when I installed this piece of junk. My start up programs would not load when the application protection feature is on. Even talking to the support people still haven't got the damn software to work the way is suppose to. Piece of advice. Do not purchase this piece of junk. Stick to Symantec there are far better with their software than what this people is. SQL Server 2005 Screams
We switched to SQL Server 2005 for our platform because 2000 went end-of-life. Happy to report our interactions with the new version have been superb. The workgroup edition version, thankfully, now can use up to 3GB of RAM (something that required Enterprise in the previous version). Norton STINKS
I had Norton Internet Security installed on my computer when bought new 10 months ago.Shortly after running the computer it gradually slowed down and would not load things, freeze up etc...I thought my computer was messed up and after some trial and error, I discovered that Norton was causing my problems.I installed Computer Associates EZ trust software (which I use on my Windows XP laptop that did not experience any problems) and deleted Norton and my problems ceased.I WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND THIS PROGRAM!!! I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who have no problem, but judging by the number of negative reviews here that they are the minority.

Norton Anti-Spam is a hoax; how can they do this to us?
I have been using Norton internet security software for several years; I suppose the anti-virus and the firewall parts of their current package work OK; certainly they never stop up-grading, almost daily, to my considerable irritation.But the "AntiSpam" is a joke!I tell "AntiSpam", in the "Rules", to treat any e-mail with "Rate", "rate", "Rates" or "rates" in the "from" space as spam.But e-mail with these words in the "from" space get through ALL THE TIME.Is it so very hard to write software to check whether any of these four little words (or any four little words) are in a "from" space? I could give several other examples of the total failure of Norton AntiSpam to do anything like it claims to do, involving equally simple tasks like the "rates" one.I usea Pentium 4 at 2.5G with oceans of hard drive space.I think some, or all the, people at Symantec should be ashamed of themselves for foisting such a less-than-worthless hoax on us, the buyers.I say "less-than-worthless" because it wastes good hard drive space which could be used for better purposes, and because it suggests a false sense of security, at least for a while.If you are thinking of buying this product, please don't.Maybe if sales go down, then Symantec will decide to try and give some value for money. ... Server Basics 101
I just took on setting up my first small office network.We have four computers and a desktop that someone set up to run as a server. The 6 gig harddrive had long seen its time and needed to be replaced.I bought a Dell PowerEdge SC420, 4 Windows XP Professional upgrades (from Amazon at an amazing price and current rebate) and Windows Small Business Server 2003 (also at a great price).I've worked on PC's for years but never set up a office network with a server.I was very apprehensive and questioned my skill but this software honestly was ridiculously simple to install and deploy.
