Save your cash, don't upgrade.
I have been using Microsoft Money 2000 for years and figured it was time to upgrade.The 2006 & 2007 versions got low marks so I decided on 2005 because it offered updated online services.
Excellent upgrade BUT do read fully (esp. 2007 yr.)
I have extensively used 2004 (Premium) and decided to opt for 2005 (Deluxe). We're now in 2007. Many may wonder why (a) I downgraded from Premium to Deluxe (b) Why I didn't buy 2006 or 2007. Here's why:
A deception
Not worth it. I nedded support for a country not supported in Money 2004 and saw it listed as available in Money 2005, so I give it a try. Found out the country was not supported and since you can not add currencies in this version, I ended up with a worst fit that the one I had with 2004. Besides, the program is heavier than the previous version so, summarizing, it is not worth the trouble. I just disinstalled it and went back to version 2004. ... Read more

Money is better than Quicken
I've been using either quicken or money since the late 80's.I started out with Quicken, but then one day my computer hard drive crashed.I thought I would be OK, since I always backed up my quicken to alternating floppies; however, Quicken could not recover my files from the floppy backups.I switched to MS Money in '95 and NEVER LOOKED BACK.I have been using MS 2006 for several months (it was preinstalled on my Compaq laptop) and find only one annoyance; they seem to be keen on you putting your Money data on the web.Sorry, I don't trust MS security that much, but I do like MS Money 2006.I hear there are not enough improvements in the 2007 version to justify an upgrade.Also, if you have 2005, no real need to go to 2006 either.I did trial a copy of Quicken last year just to see if they'd caught up with Money, but I was not impressed enough to switch.

Bugged and disgusted
I have two computers, and this program runs on neither one! You must have an internet connection or the program cannot run - despite what it says on the package about "internet functionality".
Gets the job done
Had been using MS Money 2002 up to this point and really loved it.Circumstances forced me to upgrade my Compaq laptop with this version.Although I'm not a big fan of this version, it does get the job done.The the program files loaded off the CD-ROM with no problems and I suffered no hang-ups, stalls, or anything else when loading and installing.Insofar as the program itself is concern, MS Money 2002 is better, but this version will do.It's a sign of the times. ... A little tricky
You can do a great deal with this software--some of it obviously useful, some of it less so--and there are clear, succinct explanations of legal issues involved in the decisions you have to make.Moving in and out of your existing documents is tricky, though; there aren't automatic prompts to save, and it would be easy to accidentally save over an existing document.It can be hard to get back into saved documents from the document list, too.

Great Money Saving Tool
Great program! Well worth the money. Compare the cost of the program to the cost of an attorney, and it's a no brainer. The program walks you, in an interview fashion, through the process by asking the necessary questions, and 15-20 minutes later you have your legal document. Satisfied Customer.

Not a business product
I had the regular Money product and bought the small business addition to manage receivables, invoices, etc.
If you have Money 2004, stay with it
I agree fully with the previous review by Travis. I have been using different versions of MS money from 1997 and this is the worst interface I encountered. I was using MS Money for Small Business - 2004 and was happy with it except for some of the invoice tracking functions. I skipped 2005 version after reading the reviews. Upgrade to 2006 version seemed like a disaster.

Money
It is more difficult to use than Quickbook in a practical sense. When I tried to enter a simple expense item, It took a while to look for the right pull down to get in. When I downloaded my Sear credit card history, Money2006 put expense items into credit column. It messed up my balance sheet. I always couldn't get right answer from Microsoft support for Money2006, although their tech support people are polite. ... Read more

not user friendly
The documents are fine, but I found the software to be difficult to use. Even though the software is downloaded to your hard drive, you save each document seperately when it is completed. Very unweildy

Badly designed software, nonexistent customer service or management
Nolo brings out a new version of Willmaker every year. I emailed them to see if my Virginia will was still valid. They didn't even have the courtesy to answer. I checked, and the law hadn't changed. I suspect this is the case with virtually all, if not all, states.
It needs to be done, so do it now!
As another reviewer noted, the Schiavo case brought to light the need to get our affairs in order in a timely matter. This software does the trick. It's straightfoward and easy to use. There's a basic Q&A that gives the user an idea of what forms need to be used, and further Q&A to fill those forms out. It took me very little time (15 - 20 minutes in my case, others will vary) and gave me great peace of mind. You will have to get some forms notorized just in case there could be a dispute, but even a notary plus the cost of this software is a lot cheaper than any lawyer!

Extremely Useful with or without Existing Online Banking
Paytrust.com is one of the most useful online services in existence.While most Internet savvy users will have online bill payment capabilities through their banking institution, Paytrust allows for RECEIPT of detailed bills at a designated mailbox in Sioux Falls, SD (sorry, there is only one location at this time). These bills are either scanned in or, if the merchant has electronic billing, sent electronically to Paytrust. They are then viewed by the user on the web site.With the separate and distinct mailing address, the service provides address privacy. An absolute MUST for gypsies
I disagree with the post from October 2002.I own MS Money (a fine product), but Paytrust is a completely different animal.And the differences are striking.Paytrust is completely portable.No matter what machine you use, you will ALWAYS have access to your current bills.They're ONLINE.Sure, many vendors will allow you to pay their bills at their websites, but if you have 20 bills, that's twenty websites.Quicken has a bill service, but they ONLY work with companies that are online.What about the bills that aren't?Well Paytrust doesn't care.It can take bills from your gas company, or your loan shark. Paytrust makes my life much easier.It is great if you travel a lot and are not home to get your bills.All of my bills get sent directly to the Paytrust billcenter.They scan them, send me an email notification, and then I just logon to the site and tell them when and how much to pay.It's worth it to me not to have a ton of bills laying around on the kitchen table.I never have to buy stamps.I also never balance my checkbook.Using the smart balance feature Paytrust can check my current bank balance and tell me what bills I have pending etc.I have used Paytrust for over a year with no problems.Get it now and simplify your life. ...
