5-0 out of 5 stars Bought the chest to play Dota.
One day I was hanging out with my friends, and I saw them playing Warcraft Dota Map on Battlenet.I had so much fun watching them play that I told myself I have to get into the action.Spent less than $30 to buy the chest on Amazon.Got it within a few days with free shipping. In my opinion, nowadays $30 can't even get you a full tank of gas anymore. This chest provides me with hours of entertainment with my friends, all for less than $30!!I think getting it is a no brainer and a bargain. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars OK but Don't Bet Your Life On It!!
I've purchased the latest S&T for the last 4 maybe 5 years and have become somewhat dependent on it for accurate routing whenever I thought we needed directions. In the past, one attribute of the program always annoyed me, namely, the strange text directions.I still read them a couple times, print them, grab a yellow highlighter and select the text that made sense. Then I augment the directions with my own notes in the margin.I could never figure out why msoft needed 5 instructions to tell me to stay on the same route. If you've ever used the product, you know what I mean. With this latest version, that problem/issue still persists but there's something new: errors and wrong directions!!I usually compare "fastest" to "shortest" routes.I have seen numerous cases where I had to trick the software to show me the most correct route. An example would be selecting the wrong direction off an exit of an interstate or even better, routing you in the oppposite direction to get to a road when there is a more direct route.I always update the traffic/highway info everytime. The GPS interface works fine; would be nice to have voices but I really don't miss that feature.Biggest impression: my wife and I have learned to not blindly trust it but rather we challenge every turn and pay very close to what it is telling us as we approach decision points. This year I almost went to Delorme but its reviews were even more disappointing.

1-0 out of 5 stars Probably OK for planning, horrible in the car
I have substantial experience with both the Toyota and Honda in-car GPS systems and frankly feel somewhat lost in a car without one.
3-0 out of 5 stars Installation problem
I tried install the software into my laptop for 3 hours.the software would find some registry errors in my windows and quits.I was not able to install the software into my computer. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game True to the Orriginal
DOn't believe all the bad reviews as this is a great game. This game has great story and it expands on the Prison books in the first game. Tothose who said it changed that it didn't as it was never expalined nor confirmed that they died and that is explained in the opening montage. The story is excellent and intriguing and the puzzels are hard but most of the puzzles are in the myst games. This is a great game and as to it not running, it won't run on DVD-RW drives only, and the only problem I had was to upgrade my graphics card and it wotks fine. It even works on my Dell XPS laptop. If all you have is a computer with minimum graphics and only a DVD-RW you can't run it. Otherwise it will run great.

1-0 out of 5 stars Monkey puzzle -Are you kidding?!
I loved the first MYST game. When I received MYST IV as a gift,I was brimming with anticipation. Initially, after nearly arriving to meet Atrus, something went horribly wrong with the graphics. After a while,I was able to do something (disabling something,I think)to get the graphics back. It was worth it because the worlds were beautifully done, especially Serenia. It was gorgeous and intriguing. As spectacular as the graphics were,a couple of the puzzles were annoying or arbitrary, but difficult.I normaly enjoy puzzle games;they're actually the only type I usually play. With MYST IV,I found that I had to consult the official game guide(also a gift)twice. I don't like having to resort to that,it can spoil a game. I did like the fact that there was some interaction with the characters and some of the interesting features of the game(SPOILER;the linking books;END SPOILER,the camera,etc...). Then, just as I was starting to enjoy the game I came across something that had no place whatsoever in a puzzle solving game-requirement of impossibly quick mouse movements! I'm talking about(SPOILER)that absolutely impossible Monkey puzzle. Once you figured out the sequence,it was NOT humanly possible to do it in the alloted time! (END SPOILER)I really don't know how anybody managed it. I admit that I may not be the quickest with the mouse, which is why I don't play games which require uber speed. But,the MYST games are puzzle games which should not require that. It was like finding a polar bear in the Bahamas. Suffice it to say,I could not get past the monkey puzzle. Was there a patch for that or something? If not, there should have been. I obviously can't comment on the remainder of the game, since I didn't get to finish it. It really annoys me. It's tantamount to being given half a book. Well, unless UBISOFT has done something to alleviate that problem(since Spring 2005);I wouldn't recommend this game unless you're VERY quick with a mouse. It's a shame, because I think that this would have been a good game. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE MONKEY PUZZLE,I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS GAME 4 STARS IN BOTH CATEGORIES.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Gorgeous!!!
I turned my 6 year old son to the first Myst game and so him and I finished Myst, Riven, Exile on the Playstation.I'm NOT a big PC gamer fan for one reason:They require you to upgrade your machine just to play the game. This is the reason why I feel platform games are much better. When you purchase a game you know it's going to play on the PS2, XBox, whatever.PC games are not so forgiving!!

    Game Play:
1-0 out of 5 stars It's not what you're thinking
This game is so popular only because of advertisement. Just think about these facts: the single player is so short that it take no longer than 4 hours, and the story is extremely stupid, especially the ending when there is nuclear explosion, and our hero flyes out of there on helecopter!!!
3-0 out of 5 stars Fun game, BUT......
it just couldn't hold my attention. I guess I still hold all 1st person shooters to the Half Life 2 standard.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very addicting game
Bookworm Deluxe has been a neat change of pace type game for me. I usually play things like Doom 3, Joint Ops and so on but they can sometimes get boring. This game challenges the mind and you can easily loose track of time playing it. I've also found that it can be an educational tool if you have young kids just learning how to spell. There are a few really strange words in this game and the only thing from keeping this little gem from being a true educational tool is a better way to find out what some of those words mean. To some extent the game does this but it only seems to show up on certain words. Other then that it's a pretty cool way to challenge the mind.
5-0 out of 5 stars Bookworm
A very enjoyable game, that can be saved to play again at a later date. Can compete with others without being online while playing. If you like words and spelling, this is the game for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very good - yet not great - leap over Jedi Outcast
"Jedi Academy" is the latest in a long-line of Star Wars shooter games that began with "Dark Forces" (1994) and followed the adventures of Kyle Katarn and other new Jedi Knights. As with "Jedi Outcast", "Academy" has you fighting various enemies across the Star Wars universe as rendered by the QuakeIII engine.Rather than play Kyle, you lead the fight as Jaden Kors, one of his assistants - an acolyte jedi (who ya' callin' Padawan!?).Looking and sounding little different than Outcast, Academy stands apart in more flexible gameplay. You can alter the appearance of your race, gender, skin color, dress and (before this becomes less a game than some Supreme Court case) your lightsaber.Choose the color and style of your saber - single or double sabers, or the double-bladed saber-staff made famous by Darth Maul in "Episode 1".A semi-centralized structure allows you to play various unconnected levels - each with its own unique challenges and styles - in the order that you choose.
5-0 out of 5 stars Love Jedi Knight
Star Wars Jedi Academy is a lot of fun.I found myself unable to turn off my computer until I finished playing it.I completed Jedi Academy in a little over a week, playing about 2 hours per day on the average.I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes Star Wars. There is nothing like wielding a lightsaber and fighting dark jedi.I found that I rarely used the first person mode with a gun/blaster.The lightsaber was too much fun!!

5-0 out of 5 stars A game for the Jedi in all of us
This is my first Star Wars game I've played as a Jedi and it was the most fun I've had in a pc game. The only trouble I had was in getting used to using my keyboard and mouse to move my player around (only the first few tries). There aren't many choices of species but, the choice of sabers and colors make up for that.

4-0 out of 5 stars A more challenging alternative to "Jedi Academy"
"Outcast" is the 3rd of the "Jedi Knight" PC games - or the 4th of the "Dark Forces" game, and the 1st of the series built using the "Quake III" engine.A sequel to `97's "Jedi Knight", "Outcast" reunites you with ex-Imperial Commando, ex-Rebel Mercenary Kyle Katarn. Now firmly working with the "New Republic" (established by the rebellion after their victory over the Empire), Katarn is also an ex-Jedi by the game's first mission. With Jan Ors, his lovely & trusty sidekick, Katarn infiltrates a stronghold belonging to holdout Imperial forces known as "The Remnant".What appears at first to be a routine battle with Remnant forces reveals signs of a larger and more ominous plot to create an army of Dark Jedi - a plan that includes an ambitious Imperial governor, an outcast of Luke Skywalker's Jedi academy, the Valley of the Jedi (from the last game), hundreds of evil - if inexperienced Jedi Knights - and a form of armor impervious to lightsabres. In confronting the plan, you'll travel to many locales both familiar and new to SW fans - from an Imperial prison to the Bespin cloud city of "Empire Strikes Back", from the "floating city" of Nar Shadaa to a Remnant base hidden in an asteroid belt; from the corridors of a huge Remnant battlecruiser to the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4 (last seen at the end of the first SW movie). The story is tight - you don't choose missions, the plot will direct you.Along the way, you'll encounter familiar SW characters like Luke Skywalker & Lando Calrissian.Cut-scenes (using the game-engine, and not the FMV of "Jedi Knight") drive the story.(Everybody hated the video scenes from "Jedi Knight" - everybody but me; compared to the second trilogy, the FMV scenes of "Jedi Knight" were pure SW gold.)
4-0 out of 5 stars Great Game - Classic
This game is a classic Star Wars Game.I wish they still made Star Wars games like this.

5-0 out of 5 stars Almost as good as Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
It has better gfx, better light saber interaction, expanded story line, but no movie cut scenes, not as much platforming, and no tumbling ship stages. :(

4-0 out of 5 stars The Secret of the Old Clock is Fun Time Spent

4-0 out of 5 stars omg
OMG how can u think the music is dull??????????? Its some of my favorite music for the games. It's lively. You might not like it but it's definatley not dull! Why would you have scary music in a friendly scene???? This game is not scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, But Short
I really like this game, especially that you get to drive [having 4 more years before I can even touch a wheel, this is awesome! :-)]and that it is set in 1930 (awesome!), and that you get to use a 1930 payphone (don't ask me why I like this, I just do. Maybe because you don't have to dial numbers? YAY!),and that you can talk to Nancy's dad (first time ever!) and that in my opinion, Bess and George are really funny in this one (and they have "a nosy busybody", as Bess puts it, sharing their phone line), and that you get to go fishing (though it's not exactly hard. Strange, the fish is in the same place.....EVERY. TIME.) and that there's a minature golf course (which, though sometimes annoying, is actually quite fun overall)! Sooo... what don't I like? For one thing, saying the game is based on the book is exagerating. Hello? The game is nothing like the book. OK, there's a clock. Oh look, another clock. And- *GASP* - ANOTHER clock???? As I recall, the book had ONE CLOCK (that was significant) in it! Also, Nancy stays at Lilac Inn in........the FOURTH book! Plus about every other change you can think of. (Guess what? In the game, the banker, Jim Archer, is about 50 and married, and the president of a bank. In the book, Helen Corning marries Jim Archer. I can tell you this: the two Jim Archers are NOT the same person.) OK. I don't really care if it's not like the book, it would be cool, bubt also pointless- you already know what is going to happen! So, I can see why the game is nothing like the book, but saying it is based on the book is not true! (In case you read the book and you think you know what the game is like.) I didn't really like the ending. It's different, which is good, but...I don't like it. (It's a...chase. No more said in case I spoil the ending.) But even though I probably seem like I hate the game, I actaully like it. It has pretty good graphics, an "upgrade" for the most part, there are quite a few puzzles, none particuarly challenging but more or less interesting, I like all the characteres, though Richard Topham and Jan Willobee talk a LITTLE too much. Plus I wanted to... do something to Jane. She annoys me SOOOO much. But she's funny (not on purpose)at least, her eyebrows go waaaaay up. It's funny. LOL. See for yourself. I actually reccomend this game if you don't mind solveing it quickly (I solved it in 7-8 hours, about 3-4 hours per day). It's good for beginners and people who like fast-movingn games. Overall, it's not at all a bad game. I play it over and over again! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended; just turn off the in game music for best experience
So here's my take after having played the game for two weeks.
4-0 out of 5 stars Fast & Furious Speed Demons
There have been so many different racing games that have either been successful at burning full rubber, or there are ones that haven't turned the right corner. For Electronic Arts, they have definitely delivered with the need for speed. Since the Need For Speed franchise came out back in the mid 90's, it has continued to deliver new gamers of all kinds. The feel of the the constant changes in the series have deliver very well, and still do. Need For Speed: Most Wanted really did deliver very well for the consoles like the Nintendo Gamecube, and especially the recent Xbox 360. Now, the PC has a little speed of its own.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Game
This game was great. It was fairly long so it didn't bore me easily. The best part about it was the drag racing which never got boring. ... Read more

    2-0 out of 5 stars A lackluster cash-in on a masterpiece
The video game adaption of The Godfather has been lurking on the periphery of my consciousness for awhile. It registered due to my love for The Godfather and The Godfather 2, though I knew enough to not expect much from a video game adaptation of what I consider a flawless masterpiece. I wasn't incorrect, let's say.
3-0 out of 5 stars Average by now
The cool thing about this game is that it revolves around the movie. If your a fan of the movie, then you'll probably enjoy the game because it gives you a look at what the movie didn't show you. The controls are clunky, but I got used to them after changing a few around. Graphics are acceptable, better than GTA at least. This is a GTA clone though, with 100 hidden "Film Reels" (unlocks actual clips of the movie) and all. Gameplay gets boring. After the storyline is finished, it's take over a shop here, take over a front there, blow up a rivals headquarters and so on. AND NOT WORTH IT. I beat the game 100% hoping that something cool would happen. I was dissapointed to get nothing but a lame short video and infinte ammo. Car selection sucks. I couldn't believe it. You'll probably end up driving the same 3 cars over and over again. Only 1 that acually gets some sort of speed. And it's lame when your getting chased by the cops, the computer practically throws them at you. You could be looking behind you with nobody there, then the second you look ahead a cop rams you, setting you car on fire and you to stop and ditch before it explodes. But watching cars explode is awesome, the fire was well done. Music is classic, with the soundtrack laced on it.
2-0 out of 5 stars Skip this One
Played Mafia???Well this is same but with worse music.. slightly better graphics and story... should be.The game gets old and when you become Don guess what... I don't know what to do.No multiplayer.Hard gamer?takes 2-3 days to finish. You'll be bored and $30 for 3 days is a touch on high side wait till it gets down to $10 it is worth that.Oh yaa, get the Magnum upgrade first you'll be glad you did.Print a map on-line the one they send is unusable and getting to map in game is a torture device. ... this game kind off plays like xmen legends but emphasises the rpg aspect as opposed to the beat them up

4-0 out of 5 stars Amazing, but a bit short
I have played the original FF and I must say that that game is probably one of the best games I own. This was a good follow-up effort.I was dissapointed with the new heroes, though.Out of the six new heroes, only Tombstone is any good.He also has the best origin. The modding tools were better on the first game, or at least were easier to understand, anyway. The story and gameplay were great, though I wish the game had been longer. The new villians were probably the coolest aspect. ... This is simple and mindless.Luckily, I only paid $6.99 because it's not worth more than $5.I got it at a regular store, and it was the regular price. It wasn't on sale.$6.99 is their regular price.I only bought this because my kids like Dora.

My almost five year old loves this game. She needed help in the beginning figuring out the controls, but as time goes along she's learning more and more about the computer.I worried that the gaming aspect would be over her head, but it isn't.She follows the story quite well and there are plenty of other activities on this disk to keep a child going for a while.
5-0 out of 5 stars Keeps child's attention!
We got this for our 4 1/2 year old daughter for Christmas. She was able to figure out how to play all of the games without any help.I recommend this game to any parent with a child who loves Dora and loves to play games on the computer. It's more than just a "game", as it's educational, too.It keeps my daughter's attention and she hasn't gotten bored with it yet! ... This is a fascinating piece of software and I love it. I can play sometimes for hours because the overall quality is really majestic. I am sure that if your computer or laptop meets the requirements you will have a great time with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Unclear requirements
I did not know it wouldn't work off an intel graphics controller on my Dell 800 MhZ computer. It needs specific graphics controllers. It seems like it is launching then disappears. I feel I am stuck with this now. Being a technology person for the past 25 years, I believed this would be no problem to run. I was wrong.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game!
This game is a terrific vehicle for teaching chess strategy to kids--ok, maybe adults too.My [...] and I play together and have a great time. The adventure game really holds his attention. The only drawback to the game is that the "save" command is buried in "options." This means it is very easy to exit without saving your game.Still, I recommend it highly. ... Read more
