flawless so far
Installed this a few weeks ago, on my intel imac 20 (after successfully installing bootcamp).

Virtual PC for Mac
Product works as advertised.It is slower than a native windows box but I was aware of that when I purchased it.It serves my needs in allowing me to get at windows based software that may not be available for the Mac yet.Don't regret getting it.

VPC 7 hits the sweet spot for me
Had someone suggested to me last year that I would be giving Virtual PC a five-star rating, I would have told them that they were nuts. But as a long-time Mac user who has to run a couple of PC financial programs, I have to say that for my purposes, VPC7 has finally hit the sweet spot.

So, to help those of us who are shopping for a program, would it be possible for everyone at the beginning of their review to include the following info: Computer manufacturer, model number, processor, and year of purchase? Maybe that way, we could start to see some trends for which computers work well with certain programs.thanks

Does a good job of cleaning but hurts performance
About a month ago I installed System Mechanic 6 after picking it up on sale at Costco - went with a PC World review that this program is the second-best on the market.
Like blue screens? Then this one's for you!
Usually mechanics fix things. In the case of System Mechanic 6 the idea seems to be to un-fix things. This software is buggier than a bait store and a waste of cash at best. At worst it's a system destroyer.

For your information; Symantec doesn't market PCAnywhere series in paper sleeves, any Symantec product comes in paper sleeves without retail box (other than Norton Anti-virus) is fake.

don't buy it
I use PC Anywhere every day to admin systems and I can tell you 11.5 is not a upgrade it will only slow down your access and cause other issues with the performance of your system. This must have been a rush release. I have went back to 10.5 and will probably stay ther until I am convinced Symnatec has released a quality upgrade to this product. I contacted about these things to no avail. It sounds like just about everyone else rating this product feels the same. I like 10.5 and previous versions but somebody really let the quality slip on 11.5

pcAnywhere is great for demonstration purposes!
I have a PC in the livingroom for showing videos, slides, etc for my 2 year old. I had to come out of my study to switch programs for him since he is still on a high chair at a safe distance from the monitor and keyboard. With this wonderful product, I can remotely control the livingroom pc from my study and I know exactly what's being shown on that pc's monitor. Excellent product if you have XP Professional
This is the better utility software I ever used. The other I used was Norton Systemworks 2006. Systemworks slowed me down too much and were not even 100% compatible with its earlier version of internet security. I don't think systemworks works for me any way. By comparison, System Mechanic 6 does do a much much better job.It makes my computer run faster and so easy and fast to install and I like it a lot. I will recommend whoever wants to buy a similar product to go to the manufacture's website and try it to test if it works for your machine. For those who don't have time to do the test, I suggest you buy SM6.

If you like to have some control over your PC ...
This is not the product!System Mechanic 6 attempts to automate maintenance decisions, but the user is unable to tell what decisions / changes are made.When BAD changes are made, it is practically impossible to diagnose what went wrong.In my experience, it makes MANY bad decisions and the only recourse is to reverse the changes made. Every Mac is an Island
My gal Sara bought this because she's been a Mac person forever (I'm a former Window's person, who's made the switch) and has been used to using ResEdit to design her own icons under System 7 through 9. So now she's at it again, changing, rearranging and creating icons and I have to say, it's infectious. Who says the boys in Cupertino have to have the last say on what your desktop is going to look like. Want Microsoft Word to appear as a devil on the screen. You got it. You also get a thousand free icons with the program to start. Good ones. Macs have always been unique, now they are more so. Thumbs up from me for CandyBar Plus.

Wouldn't be without it!
I currently have version 1.0 on my pc. It does everything it claims to and does it flawlessly. It cleans internet cache, history, cookies and more! I've tried another internet privacy program, but it failed to clean up the tracks that this program successfully cleaned. I especially like the fact that it cleans the autocomplete entries in my internet search and internet browser. Others can use my pc, and won't be able to see what documents I've recently opened, which programs I've recently run, or what I've searched for and what sites I've visited online. And that's the way it should be! This program can be set to clean up this information securely (can be set to wipe not just delete the info). Another plus, it can clean usage tracks for all users on a pc. The program I tried on my other pc only worked with administrator accounts (and not very well may I ad).

This was horrible, I installed this and within a 24 hour period, I was slammed with pop-ups and SPAM....And good luck trying to remove it.Very dissatisfied customer.

A huge improvement over I hate Spam!
I've been using "I Hate Spam" for the last three years, and at last got fed up enough to try "SpamWasher", which has been a huge improvement!The box I received even came with a $10 competetive rebate coupon, giving me a $10 rebate with my proof of purchase of a competetive product.
Just Average
Once again another spam program that is supposed to be good and isn't.It's OK.I actually decided to remove the software and I gave it away after two weeks.I don't enjoy going through an extra folder just to remove or accept emails.This program added work as opposed to cutting down on email time.
Best spam deleting program out there. Period.
I've tried about 10 spam-deleting programs and this one is hands-down the best. It will import your windows address book to its friends list and will import your mail settings automatically. The rules that it uses to detect spam are highly configurable so if it's acting in a way you don't like, you can change it. The rules that it comes with, however; are highly effective. Better than Norton and McAfee
I have had both Norton and McAfee products before purchasing this product.Both feel short in many areas.Based upon a magazine review I purchased this product in the Summer of 2004.
Scared!!To Install or Not To Install.........
I have given this 3 stars as I haven't installed it yet.
Product is MAYBE average, the support stinks
I'm really not sure what all the hoopala is about this product.Under it's "protection" I ended up with an "infection" that ultimately caused my PC to stop functioning altogether (and yes, I religiously downloaded the updates).Luckily, I managed to save my data.While this was happening I was trying to get some help from the Trend Micro support organization.I had escalated the problem and went through many push-ups to provide the information they requested.In the end, they stonewalled my case while I watched my PC die on the vine.Had I known they didn't care I wouldn't have bothered.I had naively thought they might care to find out what was infecting my PC so that they could apply the knowledge gained to other customers.After all, that IS their BUSINESS.
