5-0 out of 5 stars Netobjects Fusion 8 - Just awesome!
This program has a short learning curve. The interface is intuitive to users at all levels. This software is much improved from the earlier releases.I'm not going to repeat the stuffs that are listed on the netobjects.com, but you should really checkout this product. The site wizard is not bad either.I give it a 5 stars rating.

3-0 out of 5 stars Long Learning Curve
This is not an easy program to learn. I am a previous user of FrontPage, so I don't consider myself a beginner. You can build a great website with this program, but it will take you forever to do it. There also quite a few bugs with the software that haven't been worked out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Long Time User of NetObjects
I've used NetObjects for web development projects since the first product launched back in the mid-1990s.It's come a long way and is a lot less expensive, much easier to use, provides leaner code, and development capabilities right up there with the gold standard (Dreamweaver).I've used several other products over the years including Dreamweaver MX, Go Live and Front Page, Nothing can compare to the production speed and flexibility provided for both novice and experienced web developers that NetObjects has consistently provided for a decade. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Roxio CD & DVD Burning Software
I recently purchased the software above only to find it does not support my dvd drive(HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4482B (1.00)I have unsuccessfully tried to contact roxio support three times. No response.I did go through the long list of supported drives and also emailed my problem to Roxio.Needless to say, I am very disappointed and do not recommend the purchase of this software.

3-0 out of 5 stars Slow me down
When I installed Spyware Doctor, that is exactly what it did - slooooowed me down. It hung up on the first scan - not a good sign, but then worked on the second attempt. I believe this to be a very good program for preventing spyware on you computer, but there are some big caveats. With OnGuard background monitoring activated, it used about 95% of CPU resources. Obviously I couldn't do anything else with my system. I turned off OnGuard and things seemed ok for awhile. Even with this turned off and all automatic scanning disabled, every so often the program did something in the background which utilized around 95% of my CPU. Again I couldn't do anything else.
1-0 out of 5 stars Worst PC program I've ever used
I'm not sure I understand those individuals who are not having problems with this Product. It, as many have said is lacking in quality, and if you care how your system performs, don't install Spyware.I had two problems. My system would not shut down and as most others, ran extremely slow. There is no support for this product as published.I corresponded with the Support Group 5 times and not once did they understand what I said.

2-0 out of 5 stars Plugged up
This product did locate spyware, but I can get better results with Ad-Aware. I bought this product, however it clogged up my system. I had to remove it and re-install it. When I was notified that upgrades were available, I could not get upgrades. I finally removed it from my computer. Ad-Aware is FREE and works great! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Be aware! Some seller is selling pirate copies.
For your information; Symantec doesn't market PCAnywhere series in paper sleeves, any Symantec product comes in paper sleeves without retail box (other than Norton Anti-virus) is fake.

1-0 out of 5 stars don't buy it
I use PC Anywhere every day to admin systems and I can tell you 11.5 is not a upgrade it will only slow down your access and cause other issues with the performance of your system. This must have been a rush release. I have went back to 10.5 and will probably stay ther until I am convinced Symnatec has released a quality upgrade to this product. I contacted about these things to no avail. It sounds like just about everyone else rating this product feels the same. I like 10.5 and previous versions but somebody really let the quality slip on 11.5

5-0 out of 5 stars pcAnywhere is great for demonstration purposes!
I have a PC in the livingroom for showing videos, slides, etc for my 2 year old. I had to come out of my study to switch programs for him since he is still on a high chair at a safe distance from the monitor and keyboard. With this wonderful product, I can remotely control the livingroom pc from my study and I know exactly what's being shown on that pc's monitor. This is something that terminal service CANNOT do!I also use it among the several PC's I have and save the cost for KVM switches! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars ViaVoice - easier than I thought.
This program works better than I expected.I only took a short time to get my voice set up.I didn't clock it, so I might have taken more time than I thought, but I was enjoying the experience, so It was not difficult. If you have trouble typing and want a great program to help you easily produce text documents, You'll love this program.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great invention!
This is a great item.It is fun to use. It works very well for me. It is easy enough to set up.Then with patience and doing a little reading to help program it you can use it quite efficiently. And it is easy to transfer to another place like wordpad or emails.I found that I could send longer emails to my mom because all I had to do is speak my thoughts out loud!!! If your words dont come through clearly just do a little reading again.

1-0 out of 5 stars ViaVoice - very disappointing
You don't get your money's worth with ViaVoice. At first, it seemed to work fine.Contrary to what the program is supposed to do, the more I used it, the worse it got."Training" the software is extremely time consuming. However, I did this in hopes of improving its performance.Unfortunately, after spending all the time doing that, it was actually worse, not better. It has finally gotten so bad I cannot use the application at all.As I am dictating, it throws in random words which can't possibly have anything to do with what I am saying, some of them foreign.Dictate, "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country," and you are likely to get "Avarice now is the Bois time for all good men to Gwendolyn."Help is impossible to find, and if you go to the IBM or ScanSoft site, you have to pay for it.Do not buy this software. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars IBM Viavoice 10 Badly Broken
Does not work with XP SP2, McAfee security Suite and/or Office 2003. Terrible. I spent good money on this and the support is non existent and no fixes on the horizon.
3-0 out of 5 stars Software ok, support, terrible
If I were going to rate the software alone, it would be a four. However, you had better not have any problems with it, as the support is non-existent.When I reluctantly agreed to pay for support and asked for help, they never got back to me.

5-0 out of 5 stars seems to be as good as it claims
This product was recommended to me by a computer-expert friend as much easier to use than the usual ones.I am now almost finished with my first website (which includes lots of graphics, pop-up windows, and a music download) and it has really been a breeze.I don't consider myself good with computers, but this program let me worry much more about what I wanted to put on the site, and how I wanted it to look, than about how I was going to implement that. The tutorials in the included "Getting Started" booklet are well worth working through, and the "Using Freeway" book, also included, goes into more detail -- a refreshing change from those programs that come with zero paper help documentation. And the results look professional -- as soon as another friend saw my half-done first website, he wanted to hire me to do one for him! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this product
While the box claims this product is OS X compatible, we have not been able to even complete installation. Turns out it used to work with OS.X, and customer support in India sez they're working on a new version. yeah, right. IBM has nothing to do with it, they dumped it on another company.

3-0 out of 5 stars mediocre program, but better than nothing
Dragon, the leader in voice recognition software, never bothered to make a Mac version.IBM's Mac 10.3 ViaVoice is better than nothing, but not by much.As others have noted, it crashes every few minutes even on the best Mac hardware.I use it anyway because it has better recognition than I-Speak, the only alternative.Someday, someone will make a lot of money creating a decent voicetype program for the Mac, but this isn't it.In the meantime, IBM owes us a crashproofing patch for 10.3.

2-0 out of 5 stars Dying product
I find ViaVoice an important tools to save my arthritic fingers. Once trained, its dictation is reasonably accurate (even sorting out most homonyms), and the voice-directed correction (available only in SpeakPad) makes it useable. It learns as you correct it and can easily be taught specialized words in your business vocabulary or proper names.

3-0 out of 5 stars Just a correction to the other reviews...
This is actually CoffeeCup VisualSite Designer 3.0. It is a okay sort of an editor with some okay templates. If you are innovative enough and with some knowledge of DHTML you can create a good looking functional web page. As the other reviwers said, the homepage is saved in a propreitary .vnu format. To make the pages usable, you need to publish HTML using Files->Export option that will create the HTML pages. Hope this helps someone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money.
The other reviewer was right on the money.I bought this software, learned how to use it, (simple enough) and spent time creating a multi-page site only to discover that it is impossible to publish.I tried publishing it through the links on the software but cannot.Of course you discover this only after paying for a site host. Now I have web space and no site to put there.I can build a site using the host supplied software so why did I pay for this?I can't give this any stronger negative feedback, this company are a bunch of thieves!

1-0 out of 5 stars THIS SOFTWARE SUCKS
I PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE FOR $19, IT'S CHEAP I CAN CREATE WEB SITE BUT WHEN PUBLISHING IS THE PROBLEM. THE EXTENSION OF THE FILE IS "VNU", INSTEAD OF HTML, OR ASP. THE BROWSER CANNOT READ THE EXTENSION "VNU", PLUS THE SUPPORT IS NONE.

1-0 out of 5 stars Almost false advertising... Half star or less!
Freeway 4 Express is probably not the software you're looking for if you already have a website that you are looking to maintain. It uses a proprietary format and DOES NOT ALLOW THE IMPORTING OR EDITING OF PREXISTING HTML.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Program for the Money
I had been using Adobe Pagemill but didn't want to spend $400 (GoLive) for a new Web design program for OSX.I only need to update and re-design my Web site every now and then, and I am not fluent in html.Freeway 4 Express is great.I tried the free trial of GoLive and was just overwhelmed...Then I tried the free trial of Freeway 4 Express. It didn't take any time at all to get a page designed, and I added a few fun effects that I didn't have with Pagemill.A great buy for the money if you just want to drag and drop and maybe use a little html.

5-0 out of 5 stars Flexible, easy-to-use software and a good value for the money!

1-0 out of 5 stars Internet Radio Recorder - Save Your Money
Unfortunately, I found a PC Magazine article on internet radio recorders after I purchased this product. It is mostly fluff with little functionality. Why?First the quality of the recording is poor.I tried all the settings I could find including the record levels and most of the recordings have a staticy chop sound like the file was being clipped. The shrink function doesn't work or you just can't find the program in the task bar.You may get a dozen or more choices to channel/equalizer options but it doesn't help the quality of the audio.I'd ask for a refund, but once you open the package it is unreturnable.Save our money and buy one of the 6 packages recommended by PC. 1-0 out of 5 stars Useless Product.
This has made spyware even MORE of a problem on my computer.total bummer, man!

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not go anywhere near this product.
As another reviewer has mentioned this product seems to just add to your problems, during the setup it does say that it will get rid of unwanted pop ups and adds. Once I installed the program I found out that it could not remove some cookies that were found in the ad-ware and I had some error messages something about copy write prottection which I thought was complete crap, so not only does this thing not remove properly but it doesn't even detect the latest vireses or adds. Not only that because I later found out that my computer crashed again when it was working fine before I installed this pathetic program, I suggest you get the latest version of Norton anti-spyware 2005 or PC-cillin instead.

5-0 out of 5 stars McAfee AntiSpyware: Read before you buy
Till recently, McAfee was only focussing on Anti Virus software. With the recent surge in attacks on home machines through malicious emails, popup ads and self downloading adware and spyware, the web surfers are in a fix. And whenever we face serious security issues, companies like McAfee and Norton find another market to sell their products to!

I have Windows ME and using this product has caused constant problems on my system. Functions you take for granted on your computer wil start to disappear! I only bought it because Amazon was practically giving it away with a rebate, now I see why. This mechanic is bad news!

1-0 out of 5 stars System Mechanic
This is bad software! I lost most all of my programs and files using this trash on my DeskPro running Windows 98. I had run it several times before; however, the last time it ran uncontrolled until I noticed a runaway situation. By the time I hit cancel, which did not work, it had wiped out about 80% of my programs and files. Avoid this trash product!

5-0 out of 5 stars Simply works, and works well
I have an XP system. I can stand by the product. It works. From clenaing the internet clutter , to increasing the Internet speed, to removing junl obselete files. It did not corrupt anything on my machine..like so many programs of this type do. The best part is the windows startup manager. It really speeds up the computer if you can lookinto it and stop unwanted progarms from running. Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Can't Recommend
Until last week, I'd been using ZASS for almost 2 years on my Gateway 510 (Pentium 4, 3.Ghz, 1.5GB Ram,XP/SP2), despite the periodic bugs in the updated versions. These were mainly problems with the True Vector system or glitches with the automatic AV downloads and I could usually find a fix for them. Unfortunately, though, their last update was an unmitigated disaster for me.
5-0 out of 5 stars just a comment on anti-virus & firewalls
I was just going to add the comment that avast antivirus works with zone alarm, and avast is a free antivirus.I have had no trouble with either on my system.

3-0 out of 5 stars The Good, the bad and the Ugly of ZoneAlarm
Till recently, words like "Firewall" and "Hackers" were limited to corporate networks. However, today firewall software for home computers has gained as much importance as the virus protection software and rightly so. With fast, always on internet connections and computers that don't need to be shut down every night, your home pc is an easy target for hackers looking for a host pc to run their web pages or applications, to steal informatin like credit card numbers and address or just to hone their skills. This is why you need the firewall. There is no question about it.

I am a physician and dictate multiple letters every day.I was spending thousands of dollars (literally) a year for a transcriptionist to type my letters for me in the early 1990's.Not only that, there was about a one week turnaround time from when I dictated the letters into my tape recorder until the time they were typed and ready to be signed. When IBM first came out with speech recognition, I called IBM and actually spoke to the person who was the head of their R&D for speech recognition. From what he told me, I felt this new technology might save me a lot of time and money.I have used IBM for speech recognition since 1995 when they had Voice Dictation which was run off their own IBM OS2-Warp operating system. That required that you speak each word distinctly and separately. You needed a computer with a dual operating system (OS2 Warp and Windows 3.1).After dictating a letter into the OS2-Warp platform, you copied it, opened Windows and pasted it onto a Works letterhead.Lots of futzing around, but hey, it worked. When ViaVoice came out (in 1998, I think) I got their Executive 98 edition and have used it until recently. It worked fine, but my eight year-old computer finally died, and when I got a new Dell I figured I'd try the new ViaVoice 10.Big mistake!!!Initially it worked, but it was always kind of quirky.Made me wish I still had my old Executive 98 version.Anyway, one day, after spending a weekend programing in a bunch of macros, it totally died.I called IBM ViaVoice support and they had me do this thing and that to the computer, all to no avail. Finally, the technician asked what operating system I was using.I told him Windows XP service pack 2.He said that ViaVoice 10 is not compatible with service pack 2 - something about a "hostile environment".I asked him what I should do and he said return ViaVoice to Amazon (which they took back for a full credit even though the package had obviously been opened) and to get Dragon. That's right - the IBM technician said Dragon is a better product.Well, I ordered Dragon Preferred from Amazon and set-up was a breeze compared to ViaVoice.About 5 minutes of reading to the computer to adjust to my voice vs. 35 minutes for ViaVoice.Installing macros (addresses, common phrases, etc. where you say a couple of words and the whole address or paragraph comes up) was easy. One annoyance with the macros is that you always have to reset the font and size for each macro.I use Times New Roman 12-point and had to set it every time. The default font is something weird and the default size is 8-point.If you don't reset it, the macros show up in your letter in the 8-point size.Training new words is very simple and quick.Dragon says it is 99% accurate - I think that's a bit of a stretch, but I find that Dragon will make maybe 2-3 mistakes in a typical 3-4 paragraph letter that I dictate, including all the medical jargon.I can live with that - it is comparable to what I was used to with my old ViaVoice program.Correction is easy - either say Select _ and then choose the correct spelling from the dropdown list, or highlight the misspelled word and push the minus (-) sign on the numeric keypad.Dragon is very good when you have to correct a single word; not as hot if you have to correct a phrase or macro. It takes maybe 15-30 seconds to make corrections to the letter once I have finished dictating.Another annoyance is that Dragon doesn't seem to learn from it's mistakes. If, for example, I say Andersen, it will type Anderson no matter how many times I run the correction window, spelling the word ending with -sen not -son.ViaVoice, at least my old version, would usually spell the word correctly after I had corrected it once or twice.Another annoyance is that when I am dictating, often Dragon seems to hold back on typing, then suddenly an entire sentence will appear. It does show what you are dictating in a little box at the top of the screen though.ViaVoice shows every word as soon as you dictate it.I have had no problems with the microphone that came with Dragon - it's not the most comfortable, but it doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the dictation quality.Unless you have money to burn, there's probably no reason to buy a more expensive microphone.Overall, I am pretty happy with Dragon Preferred.I have been using it for a couple of weeks now, and it does what I need it to do.It is a definite improvement over my old IBM ViaVoice Executive 98 version.I am not sure I can accurately rate ViaVoice 10 because of my computer's "hostile environment".However, even the IBM technician said Dragon is a better product. If you have Windows XP service pack 2, don't even think of getting ViaVoice.

1-0 out of 5 stars You should find something else.
I just bought this product and tried to install it.It did not install right.Naturally I called customer service at Nuance. Then there comes the surprise. They give you free tech support only for first time on installation problem. From second time, you have to pay about $19 for support.I did not remember if it was one time fee or each time.Another surprise took place when I finally could talk to tech rep after about 10 min. wait. First thing he told me was that there are compatibility issues with Windows XP SP2.Tech Rep also told me that because of this, there is a really good chance you will have to call tech support more than twice which means you will have to pay and best thing I can do is to return this product and get refund.
4-0 out of 5 stars Might change my fiance's life!!!!!
My girlfriend has Multiple Sclerosis and has become limited in her ability to type. She was using an on-screen keyboard with a mouse, when I met her.One day I watched her type a short note to her mother she spent hours on two paragraphs.I told her that there had to be a better way and after a short search found ViaVoice. It was affordable and we decided to give it a try.We installed it the day it came and right away she was able to use its built in word processor to write letters to friends and family. We've only been working with it for 2 weeks, now, but it is a vast improvement over the onscreen keyboard. She can dictate a letter and make corrections in a fraction of the time possible before.

1-0 out of 5 stars SAVE YOUR MONEY
THIS PROGRAM IS TERRIBLE...ON TRYING TO BURN VIDEO DVD'S IT HAS NO SOUND OR IF IT DOES IT SOUNDS LIKE THE "CHIPMUNKS".
1-0 out of 5 stars Cakewalk is no cakewalk!
I purchased Pyro Plus specifically to organize photos, create slideshows and have more control over music playlists. Unfortunately, the program is severely lacking in the image processing department. Cakewalk has failed to meet even the basic fundamentals in image processing with this program and their advertising would have you believe otherwise. Audio features are adequate but are lacking in more sophisticated features such as tempo/beat matching between mixed tracks. Again, contrary to advertising. I personally found technical support to be polite, yet unhelpful and evasive. Their advice was to spend another $100 to actually purchase the features that I had been duped into believing I was purchasing in the first place. Thanks, but no thanks! My advice is to carefully review the features you must have, (like I did), however do not purchase unless you can download a trial version! This way you will likely find software worth paying for. I hope this saves a few people 50 bucks!

1-0 out of 5 stars CuteFTP Pro 6 + Windows XP Pro = Unstable?
I use FTP as part of my trade as a web developer/manager. I have used several packages over the years including several versions of CuteFTP [when it was free, too - the good old days of the Interweb!]. Last fall it was time to get a new computer, and that meant Windows XP Pro for me. To go along with it I upgraded several software apps that were getting long in the tooth...
