Product came in a timely manner and I love it. Easy to use and fun too.

Not worth the money
This is the first time I have ever reviewed a product and I do it so that no one else will waste their money on this.It adds virtually nothing to XP.Too bad they didn't make it as interesting as their packaged media edition.That would have been worth the money, but old Bill who doesn't want to be the richest man in the world would rather you spend money on a new PC to get that product.The themes are nice but far too few for the price.The games are a gimmick since you have to pay to play the real things.The DJ is dumb and the dancers are cute but after a while boring.Hard to figure out how to use the music converter and photo stuff.Too bad could have been something but in its present form, not worth the money.

Not worth the hassle
I purchased this software thinking that I could take my digital images, create a slide show with music, and then burn it to dvd for the family to watch.

Word
the only reason i bought this was because i didn't have microsoft word and i wanted it but the problem is trying to find it without having to buy the entire office program of works. i wish they would just sell it by itself. so instead of the Word program you get a word processor that only has a few small differences with the actual Word program like it is missing a built in Thesaraus. there are a few other small differences but the program is completely compatible with the Word program. you can save and edit Word documents. that was all i really wanted to begin with. so if you want a cheeper way to get Microsoft Word or something really similar to it, this is the way to go.

Not a bad product but there are better for product for free
I have been using Works for years as I had used Microsoft Office but I never used anything more than Works offered for a tenth of the price. The new version 8 is a good step up until I tried Sun Open Office which is free. This product is a full blown office suite and it is free. I doubt this will get posted but try both work and open office and see yourself

Registry Mechanic 5.x PC System Repair
This is an excellent program for those who are either not computer savvy enough to do a manual registry repair, or who simply don't want to do a manual repair.I purchased this product after my computer had been overrun with Trojans.A tech support guy attempted to remove them all without reformatting (using avast! Antivirus).He was able to get most, but not all removed.I then downloaded Spybot Search & Destroy and installed this program.Much to my relief, I was able to remove all of the Trojans and clean up my registry, resulting in faster computer performance.This program is easy to use and I highly recommend it.Regarding the reviewer who advises not to buy the product, I wonder if he did not create a system restore point before compacting the registry.It is vital to create a system restore point whenever making changes to the registry, just in case the changes cause a problem with computer performance.I had no problems whatsoever with this program, and again I highly recommend it.The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the price.It is a bit high, but still worth it in my opinion.

Excellent backup and worth the Amazon price
I use this to clear out nasty Trojan viruses and other nasties that occasionally appear on my machine. I have found that it has saved me a lot of time and effort in clearing out some of the nastier Browser hijackers. I followed the instructions, and have had no problems with it. I know that the registry is a very sensitive area, so I have not tried any psychadelic tasks that completely ruined my machine. Garbage
As a user of this and other Norton products and as a tech-support professional, I must tell you that the bad reviews are true. I used to be a big fan of Norton products until recently.
Junk - Symantec should be ashamed
Search for Amazon item number 10099566 to see an overwhelming number of bad reviews of Norton AntiSpam 2004.They didn't improve the product much in the 2005 version.It is really disgusting that Symantec has leveraged the Norton brand, formerly known for quality, with the cynical money grab that is Norton AntiSpam.Absolute junk software, with comically bad support.I hope to see a class action lawsuit against Symantec for selling this product that they certainly know is defective in a myriad of ways.

Does a good job of cleaning but hurts performance
About a month ago I installed System Mechanic 6 after picking it up on sale at Costco - went with a PC World review that this program is the second-best on the market.
Like blue screens? Then this one's for you!
Usually mechanics fix things. In the case of System Mechanic 6 the idea seems to be to un-fix things. This software is buggier than a bait store and a waste of cash at best. At worst it's a system destroyer.

LiveUpdate does not work as it should
Well Norton Antivirus 2005 did do some good things, it found and cleaned viruses on my hard drive, and found spyware. However, the LiveUpdate feature did not work. The reason it did not work was because a parameter in the installed icon was wrong, right out of the box. The annoying part was that the error messages and the on-line help I got claimed everything else but that.

This is the one software suite you MUST HAVE!
I bought this company's One Click Cleanup and I loved it!I wondered if I really needed to buy their higher end version and thought I'd give it a shot.For just over 65 bucks it seemed like a steal compared to the other ones I have tried.I like this one even better!It is easy to use and does everything to keep my computer running smoothly.I haven't had any trouble with viruses and spyware since I got it.Everyone should have this product on their computer; I love it.

Very Impressive
For many years, I was an exclusive user of Norton System Works to help clean my Windows systems. About a year ago, I moved to Advanced System Optimizer after reading a positive review. Indeed, ASO did a much better job of restoring my clogged computer systems to speedier performance. At the same time, I experimented with FixIt Utilities 6.0, but in general it did not find as many errors as ASO. Well, with FixIt Utilities 7.0, there is a new champion. On two separate XP Pro systems, it found about 600 registry errors AFTER I had scanned with Advanced System Optimizer. This program is a huge bargain because it also includes effective virus and spyware software. I have long been frustrated with computer performance deterioration. Wipe Capability
You can't wipe just the free space on a partition or drive with this.It will only wipe the entire partition or disk.

Software does the job and has great technical support
I purchased this software to purge the hard drives of several laptops. They were older model laptops with widely varying configurations, so I ran into some problems. I sent an e-mail to the support e-mail address and received a response almost immediately. The technical support that I received was absolutely first rate and the issues that I ran into were resolved in very quick order. I am very pleased with my purchase of this product.

I'm planning on suing Symantec in small claims court over this
This product destroyed over 40+G on my third internal drive when I loaded it.There was no reason for it to even access that drive, but it retooled it and left my other 2 drives alone.It cost me $500 to try to repair the drive and eventually I replaced it.I have that drive sitting in a box, waiting until I have $2000 to have it "slow read" to see if I can get the data back.This product is a nightmare and I intend on making Symantec pay for the money out of my pocket.No amount could ever pay for the data that I lost, which was all family photos and videos.This program is a disaster.

suspicions confirmed!
I'm rating GoBack two stars because I've used it for years, and it saved my bacon many's the time. However, it seems that Roxio sold its best product to Norton, and to judge by the reviews on Amazon, the result was a disaster. I'm ready to believe them because Norton SystemWorks destroyed my computer a few years ago: once SystemWorks was installed, it became so unstable that I could no longer use it. Since there was stuff on there that I valued, I bought a new computer and laboriously moved everything over by using 3.5 inch diskettes. Then I F-disked the old computer, reintstalled Windows 98, and gave it to my daughter, who has used it ever since.
If go back rating had a 0, that's what I would put!
I just re-installed my system works, and this time I decided to use the whole program including go-back. Now I am stuck in this twilite zone loop! I can not see my main drive, all I see is the go back window and do you want to reboot.

Very Effective
This program does a great job of defragmenting the harddrive quickly and keeps it defragmented. You can schedule it to run on any schedule you like. I am very pleased with it.

Good software for the money
The user interface isn't as polished as the full version of diskeeper and it lacks some defrag options that I'm used to like the option to defrag hard drive while screen saver is on.

This product works so much better than the Windows delivered defrag program.I have not used many other defrag programs but this one is wonderful, easy to use and does a smart placement to help the efficiency of the hard drive.There very well could be other products out there, but I'm not sure how they could defrag the drive any better. ... I ran and reran Adware the paid version not the freebie. It found a few things. This went on for a couple of weeks and after the daily updates nothing changed. I kept getting popups.. So I downloaded spybot as well and ran it. It found a couple of more things but still the popups came... I downloaded the free scan from spy sweeper and ran it.. It found 2 memory resident ezula and clkoptimizer right off the bat..... It also successfully cleaned these as well.. It also found many more items.. This after scanning with 2 other products....... DOS Skills Were Essential Interesting comments here about Sys Cmdr.. Perhaps my comments won't be accepted cuz they relate to an earlier version (5) but I think I can offer some insight. But first, let's remember that this is Amazon.com, and Amazon should not be tarnished cuz of some software company that can't get their act together. Amazon is okie-dokie with me. No gripe whatever.... I came here looking for info about this newer ver 8. I'm currently a ver. 5 user of Sys Cmdr. I will agree with others who state that V-Comm is bad on customer service. They are horrible. One fellow said "non-existent" I'll agree on that. However, I wonder about the bug reports. I would think vers. 8 to be less buggy than vers. 5. What many might think to be bugs is the way you go about things. Sys Cmdr is an animal one must "get acquainted with". If I hadn't learned my DOS, I would say I would've just thrown in the towel. I know, they don't publicize that, and this is not the best marketing, but being able to get down dirty in the DOS mud really helps. I've never tried to use Sys Cmdr installed to ANY version of Windows, only DOS 6.22. The only nasty bug I can complain of is when you have a partition with lots of data inside, Sys Cmdr will report "you're out of memory- cannot complete blah blah operation..." But that is not the end of the world. There is a way around this, if you think for a minute. But as for copying partitions- let's say, your startup, day-to-day partition, to a backup hard drive, ( 2nd hard drive), which is a mighty good idea before installing a new program, who's behavior is not known, Sys Cmdr will do the job. And if that new prog bombs out, you can just delete the screwed up partition on the boot drive and then COPY BACK the backup to the boot drive. This sounds like Windows Roll Back procedure, but it's better, much better. If you want a separate partition to run your favorite game, you can use Sys Cmdr to boot to just this partition, or boot to your Internet partition. I don't see a problem with the product once you know how this animal lives and breathes. I did bump the RESET button twice, rapidly (by mistake) one day, and soon discovered all my partitions were gone. How much of this do we blame to Sys Cmdr, and how much to the motherboard? Who knows. I've seen strange things happen. So I guess my big gripe is, V-Comm treats customers with little or no respect, and they don't have common sense in laying out the product or the instructions, but for those with that junk yard dog attitude, that just refuse to give up until their leg is eaten away, Sys Cmdr can be used to great advantage. When I migrated to Win 98se from the Macintosh 7 years ago, I would never have made it without Sys Cmdr version 5. It's a program that requires patience. One gentleman here said "read the book". He's right about that, even tho it's convoluted. The info is in there. You just gotta let it soak in. One comment here gave the product the devil related to DOS.
