4-0 out of 5 stars When you need something more than iMovie.
I use this with a MacBook laptop with 2GB RAM without any performance issues. It is a great product for when you have outgrown iMovie but don't need the full feature set of Final Cut. I use it for both perosnal and work video production. No problems connecting and moving video of a Panasonic PV-GS500 video camera via Firewire. There is a learning curve but the basics are pretty easy to master. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not good, pathetic
Well the price reflects the quality of these loops. You will be getting the big bunch of primitive, annoying loops. Compared one to one with loops I'm getting from any major loops producer, Big Fish for an example, these are laughable, like beginner drummer's exercises. Yes, there're many of them, but they ended up been deleted from my drives completely to give a way to the real stuff. These may be Ok, if you make some 20 seconds intro for Final-Cut's movie, but as for music these are totally worthless. I'm not a drummer but even I can do better with pads. Go to web sites of any major loop producing companies and listen to the loops they produce and compare. I think it is better idea to buy five great bits for a song rather than load the drive with this bundle of garbage. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't like this product
eJay Sound collection is a very difficult program to use.
4-0 out of 5 stars Sound collection / sellection?
This whole software family is excellent and gives the user exactly what it offers.Quality recorded samples. My only problem is that this software house offers different samples from one collection called "sound sellection" and another collection called "sound collection".Depending on which set you use, you have to install two separate working version of the browsing software. It is not interchangeable as I have tried that. That is the only annoying problem with it.Besides that I love the samples and the software does work great regardless of which set you might be using at that particular time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great packaging
Very professional packaging and nice layout.

3-0 out of 5 stars Powerful but Difficult to Learn
This application is capable of producing sheet music of publishable quality and playing it back, including named chords, but can be frustratingly difficult to learn. Little about it seems intuitive or works the way one would think: many of the operations require you to remember special keyboard-mouse combinations or perform unusual actions such as double-clicking and holding down the mouse button on the second click or selecting the same menu option twice. Unfortunately there is no searchable online help - only a PDF user manual with a table of contents and a 'How Do I' section. The manual does contain links to other sections but there is no index and no way to return to the table of contents easily. There is a searchable Windows help file included but it does not appear to contain much information. Having said that, once you have learned the basics and familiarized yourself with its many quirks, the program is quite powerful. It also allows you to create templates for particular instrument configurations and start from a template when beginning a new piece. I have not tried the scanning, MIDI or microphone-entry features. You should know that you must register the software with the vendor online or by phone within 30 days of installing it, and that the registration process requires you to furnish personal information about yourself such as your name and email or mailing address. In addition, the numeric key which is returned to you at the time of registration works only on the computer on which you installed the software. According to the manual, if you change any of the hardware on your computer the software may no longer work and you will have to repeat the registration process.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not nearly as good as the (much cheaper) competition.Avoid!
I saw this software in a Mac store and based upon the features listed on the box, I bought it. The limitations for this version of the software are extreme:you can't make your own chord diagrams, you can't score more than a few instruments and play it back (there's apparently a limit of MIDI channels allowed) - getting around both of these problems require the most expensive version of the product --- and the "upgrade" cost is $400! The manuals aren't particularly helpful, either.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent new version
Notation software seems to be one of those things where there are two main players, like Microsoft and Apple or PhotoShop and Quark. Sibelius and Finale are the big two here. I've used both (for my own writing and for part-time teaching), but for the last couple of years I've pretty just used Sibelius, and got the Sibelius 4 upgrade in December.
4-0 out of 5 stars Comparison with Finale
I'm a Finale user who was tempted by Sibelius's competitive upgrade offer. After playing around with Sibelius 4 versus Finale 2006, I can offer some observations. As an initial one, both programs are excellent and neither has serious flaws.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buggy, confusing, ill-considered
I have had trouble and no satisfaction with this product.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Keep Coming Back
I came across Magix Audio Cleaning Lab about 4 years ago.Once I got the hang of it, I really liked it.However, I kept wondering if there were better programs out there.I mean, really, how good can it be for $39, right?I recently paid $75 for Sony's famed Sound Forge Studio (which is the Sound Forge program minus various some features).I spent a lot of time with Sound Forge Studio, working to perfect my transfer of some private music recordings from cassette to CD.I was happy with what I was able to accomplish with Sound Forge. At least I thought I was happy.I compared my work in Sound Forge Studio to the same cassette transfer I did with Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 10 (the previous iteration of this software).Guess what?I liked the Magix work much better. So, I immediately purchased Audio Cleaning Lab 11 and unintalled Sony's Sound Forge Studeio from my computer.Magix could charge $150 for this software and I would buy it in a second.Your going to have to take the time to carefully read through the full manual to get the most out of this software - but it is worth the effort.
5-0 out of 5 stars MP3 Issue Resolved
The main reason for negative reviews in the past was the extra charge for the MP3 encoder. With this version, the MP3 encoder is included. Magix has been pretty clever in designing an interface that can used quickly yet has several more advanced features you can use as you become more proficient. These include a full featured waveform editor and a very powerful sonagram (spectral) editor. Also, somewhat hidden is the ability to record 78rpm records on a 33 1/3 turntable. If you use the full set of features almost any record can be made totally free of pops and clicks. I have two very minor negatives; the amplitude scale on the track display is somewhat truncated, the declicker has so few artifactsthat I recommend always using it at the maximum setting (as opposed to the wizard and manual recommendations.) As far as PC requirements, I believe any program that does a lot of number crunching needs a fairly up-to-date processor. This one particularly so because it leaves the original audio files intact. I don't believe this is a negative as in some prior reviews. In short, I have been totally satisfied with this program's ability to make clean transfers of both 78rpm and 33 1/3 rpm records.

1-0 out of 5 stars To Know A Truth & Not Reveal It Is Deception
I would not advise anyone to use this software. Before buying MEP 11, I tried to get a hold of their support people and ask if it was compatible with Win2K WHICH IS STILL SUPPORTED BY MICROSOFT. I could not get an answer.
1-0 out of 5 stars No customer support
I would NOT buy this product at all. They have no product support that will efficiently help you.I have left 6 messages over the last week to 3 different locations and have not gotten a return phone call.I have written 3 emails to seperate people and have not gotten a return email. If you will require product support this is not the product to buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Makes Great Instructional Videos and mini-movies!
I have used Magix Video editors since version 1, and Movie Edit Pro 11 is the best yet.Finished product will produce your choice of either 4:3 ratio or 16:9 ratio video. You can burn directly to DVD with menu, or save out DVD compliant MPEG-2 files.Totally lossless DV-AVI capture. Produces seperate .WAV audio and .AVI from mini-DV cameras. This feature prevents skewing of the voice-to-image sync problems many editors have after 10 or more minutes of Continuous dumping video to hard disk. Provides the best Chroma Key abilities I have ever seen! Chroma-key in blue, green, black, or white backgrounds. You can easily extract a single photo from the video in .BMP or .MPG format. All in all, this software will yield as good an end product as any Hollywood movie you can purchase on DVD today. Fantastic video when used with a 3-CCD camcorder, sharp, clean, flawless.Has tools to adjust color, brighness, contrast, gama-match, as well as audio tools.Want a professional transition? It has the ability! You can slide one take up against another, press-in until you get a small X where the two videos join, and you have the best scene transition money can buy. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Studio software is awesome!!!
I have had nothing short of an excellent experience with this product. I have created numerous videos of my children's escapades and sporting events. I do have one warning however. Provide the grandparents with a box of tissues because they never fail to cry when they see their little angels parading across the widescreen. The software is extremely intuitive and easy to use. My wildest expectations were exceeded.

1-0 out of 5 stars The worst program I've eve used
Crashes on every thing I try to do. I've never seen such a poor excuse for a program. I paid 70 dollars for it and am now throwing it in the TRASH.

1-0 out of 5 stars Go with a different product - Version 9 worked, this version doesn't
I used Version 8 and 9 and NEVER experienced a problem.Version 10.latest version is terrible.Crash and burn.Don't take their advice and re-install your operating system. Its THEIR software and not the OS.Amazon and Pinnacle (Avid) continue to sell this product even though its terrible.I read it was re-written for version 10 and they CAN'T get it right.Nonetheless, they still charge full price and for support calls. The upgrade should have been free.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best of the Jam Packs
I've bought three of the packs before and I just bought this one. At first I wasn't sure what it could really do for my sound, but it is absolutely amazing. 5-0 out of 5 stars Sound Forge is VERY powerful
For those of you that have used WAV editors this product may or may not be great. For those of you who are starting out with WAV editing I don't know of an easier product out there. I had problems editing (splices) of takes until now. The marker feature for labeling the parts to be removed or attached together is great. The CD Architect protion is a pain to use compared with Nero or CD Creator. I would't bother loading it. I have not tried the Noise Reduction yet. ... Read more

70.00 us for a program that has midi support and virtual voices. it's a starting program its good but it isn't supported by a lot of other people. There need to be more third party modules before it can really be embraced as a serious tool.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great software, but make sure this is what you need.
I purchased this software about 2 weeks ago, and I have to say that it is far superior to any other product in its price range.I will admit that it's not nearly as intuitive as they say it is, but the learning curve (to me) isn't that steep.I say that with some reservations, because I went to school for media production and probably have a little better knowledge base to work from than the average beginner. To make matters more difficult, Cakewalk products have (from my experience) always had very poorly written manuals. With Music Creator, they seem to have made an effort to improve in that area. It's the first Cakewalk manual I've seen that actually has screenshots of whatever the particular topic is.Thank heaven for small favors.
1-0 out of 5 stars Newbie Beware
If you are new to creating music on computer, and just want to delve lightly into the process, stay far away from any software developed by this company. Newbies beware - never venture here!I am not, nor will I ever be, a high-end user like the other reviewers. I produce multimedia not music. I just need straightforward tools to create music for presentations (so I can quit buying readymade music/MIDI clips). Unfortunately (?), I used my child's MAC and Garage Band before using Cakewalk. I was tainted by instructions that made sense, an intuitive software interface, and music actually coming out of the computer.
