Don't count on EncoreDVD
All the applications in the suite are fantastic with one exception: EncoreDVD. This piece of software is full of bugs and inexplicable system errors. I have never been able to complete one project. Every time, my project gets corrupted for no reason and then need to be rebuilt from scratch. If you don't believe me, please visit the Adobe User Forum and read through all the messages from users crying for help with program and system errors. If you plan on authoring DVDs, you will probably have to do like me: buy another application such as DVDit.

Is this product worth it in one word - yes it is - okay three words

What!?! You actually want this thing to work?
My husband, who is not a techie, purchased this item.He installed it himself and then learned he needed a keyboard (which he had) and a MIDI cord (which he didn't).He wanted it to work NOW, so I purchased a MIDI cord from a local vendor, and reinstalled everything.Yes, I am something of a techie and an accomplished pianist.The minimal installation instructionstalked about a joystick and a serial connection.Our MIDI connector cord is USB and doesn't have a port for a joystick.Further, our new laptop doesn't even have serial port and I can't determine the purpose of the joystick.

Firstly, this software is NOT truly XP compatible. Yes, it does run on XP, but it is not native. My first install gave me a "16-bit subsystem" error. I haven't seen something like that in 6 years.
Three of my kids used this!
All my children learned to play the piano using this software exclusively to learn piano.One ended up learning Moonlight Sonata well enough to wow the grandparents.

Son loves it.

Disappointed with Roxio makers of Easy CD createtor 5 Platinum.
I am extremelly disappointed with Roxio, the makers of CD Creators; especailly Easy CD Creator 5. I purchased Easy CD Creator 5, sometime back from an affiliate of Amazon.com.It was dispatched promptly and in very good condition.I installed it on my computer running Windows 98. After some initial problmes it was running fine.
Burn CD's, not your money. Try other products first.
The first version of Easy CD Creator I used was CD Creator 4 basic. It was okay, pretty much what it said it was: basic. I got the upgrade to that from an Ebay auction and it worked pretty good. Later due to lack of support by the manufacturer for new CDRW drives in good old version 4, I upgraded to CD Creator 5 Platinum (The version being sold here.) This too worked pretty good - for a little while. Then the operation was moved over from Adaptec to Roxio, and from that point onward, things have been more thorny than rosy.
No support; No updates; Nero incompatability
I spent the last 3 hours trying to get support for this product. Although the site did not reject me it sent me through loops to get an "update" that when run, errored out as soon as it began. ... Read more

An ok game...
My daughter liked this game, but she finished it in like a half an hour.Which was very disappointing to both of us.The game is quite easy, and not very challenging.My daughter does like this game, and does still play it, but it does not compare to the other games she has.(Like Barbie Princess and the Pauper, great game!)So yes, even though she does like this game, dispite the shortness of it, I think we both would have prefered a better game.

best In The Series For Loops And Sounds So Far...
This ejay is better than the rest of em so far because the sounds in this one are good acual pianos an other instuments in the 6th one they are all tecno sounding and the bass and poly makers all sound like tecno the 4th one tho you cant make bass sounds an such but like i said better sounds for making beats that are dark and grim and some for making just good beats

This installment of the Hip Hop Ejay series is amazing. It's real easy to use and you can create some amazing beats! It's also saved me a LOAD of money on getting producers to make my beats, as well as saved me money on studio time! If you're trying to branch out and make your own album and beats, this is a MUST have. I've been COMPLETELY satisfied with it. It's a great piece of production software, and it beats the hell out of the Magix Music maker series! There's a wide variety of sounds, loops, keys, guitars, drums, base, etc. The only reason I didn't give this review a perfect 5-star rating was because I wished they would've included more strings, and more elements for Latin-style rap rhythms. A little know how can get alot outta this.
This program is worth its weight in gold if you just use a little know how. When I first bought it I thought the same thing as many others seem to still think, "it doesn't copy any protected dvd's!" The answer is that it does copy protected dvd's. What the program does not do is remove the copyright protection from the disc. On the other hand, you can download a free program that takes care of that for you. And it is so simple that once you install this second program (if you get the right one) then it works automaticly when ever you place a dvd in your drive. The "I Copy DVD 2" software tells you all of this during the install process so I am not sure why anyone would not know to go online and get this second software. So the program does what it says it will do, you just have to complete an extra step. As far as the quality issues? For under 50 bucks you can not expect much better. Most of the copies that I manage to make seem to suffer little to no ill effect to my eyes from the copying process. As far as that goes I would remind people of this; the program is supposed to be used to make one (1) legal back-up of any dvd that you have purchased in order to protect your original from wear. As in our case, we make copies of our movies for my daughter who does things like leave discs out on the floor, or just plain looses them. If she does any of this then we have only really lost the cost of a blank disc which is way less then the cost of the actual movie! What I believe is assumed by the manufaturer is that if people use it as intended, they can just choose to copy the actual movie and not the ENTIRE contents (special features, menus, etc.) of the DVD which will provide a much better quality copy because the software has to compress less data to fit onto a dvd disc. If a person wants to see the extra content then they can turn to their orignal dvd for this. If your intentions are to build your dvd collection by renting movies and making copies so that you don't have to pay to actually buy them then this is not for you. The technology that compression labs use to make retail dvds is very advanced and expensive and could never be packaged and sold for under 50 bucks. I gave the program only 4 stars beacause from time to time it seems to run into problems copying a movie and ruins a blank disc. Although I have no idea why this happens, it does not happen nearly enough to discourage me from recomending this to anyone.

Get off your duff and do a little reading
Nothing's perfect. I've been using the basic program over 2 years and here's what I have learned.You have to get the 3rd party help which Google will find for you.Some discs, Sony , especially and alot of the Disney stuff have so much garbage in them, that the program shuts down.There is also a hic-up from time to time where a hesitation will appear and re-appear, through out, from time to time.Out of over two hundred copies, I say I GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH.What do you expect for less than $40.00 bucks?If you can't do a little searching to help the program do its thing--- you're too dmn lazy and you don't deserve it!...CTP

Great for Windows Media Player
I received a IPod Nano as a gift. I've been listening to music on my Dell Axim so I keep my music library (mostly paid Yahoo subscription music without the drm anymore) on Windows Media Player 11 (latest version). The IPod is great as it is, far faster than the Axim, which uses a flash cards. However, the Ipod is an Apple product and Apple doesn't allow any synchronization outside of Itunes. To me WMP provides a far better shuffling environment onto my nano, so I was able to stick with WMP thanks to Xplay.
Probably not worth the money
I was under the impression that this program would allow you to sync seamlessly with itunes.I did not know at the time of purchase that you had to go through the xplay interface.It does allow you to download all of your songs to the computer from the ipod but there is freeware that allows you to do the same thing.It did save me from losing all my songs but I lost all my ratings.That information does not transfer.

Not worth the small price
This came with a microphone which fell apart in the box. Bad start. But I suppose you get what you pay for. The interface is clumsy and the sound quality was poor. It does have a couple of nice tools built in, like a tempo varying slider which is very handy and studio effects like echo and reverb. But you might be better off spending more money for a sound studio program.

My Voice is a waste of money...
I purchased My Voice software thinking, "They have finally made this technology available at an affordable price".Not so, there are two things you should know about about this product.One, it is very easy to use, you just click on the play button for a song and click on the voice extracter icon (the hand with the microphone).Two, when you click on the hand with the microphone, all you get is your song (voice and all) with the sound turned way down and slightly muffled.The bottom line is, this product does not work.I was extremly disappointed, however, since I did not pay that much for the item I was not livid!I gave it one star, instead of zero, because the product will play your CDs and it will find the names of the songs on your CDs.

Fun, but limited
The feature list sounds awesome, but there is a catch: the software often mistakes certain musical sounds for vocals, in some cases suppressing some of the most prized elements of the recording.

DOES handle 6 channel midi guitar input - I don't know what the previous reviewer's problem was. Also the manual is excellent, the printed output is publication quality. handles tab and notation and converts back and forth with a mouse click. Also imports ASCII tab files of which there are thousands for free on the Internet. Scanning works but you must be careful to use clean printed originals. Aldo Kontakt is a nice set of guitar and pop music oriented sounds. Overall very good program - well designed and a good value. Lots of Problems
I would not recommend this product. I have had many strange errors - the latest being I can no longer drag and drop to burn a CD - I get an error indicating "End License User Agreement" not agreed to. The Roxio website says this can be fixed by installingEULasp to update to latest service pack - it does not help.

Just Don't Buy This.
This product has singlehandedly destroyed both systems in my home.We have multiple hard drives, and Roxio seemed to think that it could create another partition and change our drive lettering without any warning to us at all.Nothing we can do seems to repair this, and looking for more information on this product issue reveals two things - we are not alone, and there's nothing we can do but restore our systems from backup.Do yourself a favor, skip over Roxio and find something that isn't bent on destruction.

All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is not quite as good. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good though.

Installation procedure unacceptable.
I was real excited to try Piano Wizard, since I teach 65 piano students each week, many of whom LOVE video games.However after receiving the product, its installation instructions clearly said I *HAD to* register on-line to even install the product.After questioning the manufacturer via email customer service, I returned "Piano Wizard" unused since I'm not willing to "HAVE TO" go online to install a software product.
