Roxio CD & DVD Burning Software
I recently purchased the software above only to find it does not support my dvd drive(HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4482B (1.00)I have unsuccessfully tried to contact roxio support three times.No response.I did go through the long list of supported drives and also emailed my problem to Roxio.Needless to say, I am very disappointed and do not recommend the purchase of this software.

The video editing software is absolute garbage
The video editing part of this software is completely useless.It didn't come with a manual and I ended up buying on my own a book about how to use it.It hasn't made a difference.The software is completely uncooperative.My computer more than meets the minimum requirements for running the program.If you bought this software for the video editing, I recommend using the disc as a drinks coaster and buying something else.

Good features, but totally unstable
The features of the program are great, but it crashes WAY too much. My computer system is fully adequate for video editing, so that is not the problem. I've gotten to the point where I save my work literally every minute for fear that it will crash.

Solid Media Authoring Program for the Price
I bought this product based on my research of users opinions and found it has lived up to their high opinions.I have boxes of family photos as well as numerous camcorder tapes of family events.I wanted an easy comprehensive program that would let me arrange photos and video clips, add music and burn on a DVD.This program does it all and more.It may not do everything extremely well, but for the price, well enough to put out an impressive DVD.After about two hours of getting familiar with the program, I was able to create a DVD that had 35 pictures and a video clip with background music - stunning results.I played the DVD on several different brands of DVD players and had no problems.Looks great on TV.I've had no problems running the program on my computer - I'm running this on a Pentium IV 2.9 GHz, 1 gig ram and 200 GB ram HD.Since I am a beginner/weekend hobbyist, this suites my purpose of sharing pictures with family - I'm finding much better to share on DVD than paper photos.For an all-in-one package at this price, it does the job very well and I would recommend it. ... Disappointed with Roxio makers of Easy CD createtor 5 Platinum.
I am extremelly disappointed with Roxio, the makers of CD Creators; especailly Easy CD Creator 5. I purchased Easy CD Creator 5, sometime back from an affiliate of Amazon.com.It was dispatched promptly and in very good condition.I installed it on my computer running Windows 98. After some initial problmes it was running fine.
Burn CD's, not your money. Try other products first.
The first version of Easy CD Creator I used was CD Creator 4 basic. It was okay, pretty much what it said it was: basic. I got the upgrade to that from an Ebay auction and it worked pretty good. Later due to lack of support by the manufacturer for new CDRW drives in good old version 4, I upgraded to CD Creator 5 Platinum (The version being sold here.) This too worked pretty good - for a little while. Then the operation was moved over from Adaptec to Roxio, and from that point onward, things have been more thorny than rosy.
No support; No updates; Nero incompatability
I spent the last 3 hours trying to get support for this product. Although the site did not reject me it sent me through loops to get an "update" that when run, errored out as soon as it began. ... Read more

Lots of Problems
I would not recommend this product. I have had many strange errors - the latest being I can no longer drag and drop to burn a CD - I get an error indicating "End License User Agreement" not agreed to. The Roxio website says this can be fixed by installingEULasp to update to latest service pack - it does not help.

Just Don't Buy This.
This product has singlehandedly destroyed both systems in my home.We have multiple hard drives, and Roxio seemed to think that it could create another partition and change our drive lettering without any warning to us at all.Nothing we can do seems to repair this, and looking for more information on this product issue reveals two things - we are not alone, and there's nothing we can do but restore our systems from backup.Do yourself a favor, skip over Roxio and find something that isn't bent on destruction.

OK, but not the best
All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is not quite as good. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good though.

Sure Thing CD Labeler Deluxe
The CD Labeler does a very nice job importing playlists with a nice selection of different labels.It is a fairly easy program to learn, and the more you use it the more you learn about it.

Never have to use a Sharpie again!
I'd never used CD disc labels before and now wonder why I waited so long.I'd thought about getting the latest LiteScribe technology but this works just fine!I'd read that the software was difficult to use, but found there was nothing difficult about it.What a difference it makes having a label for all the CD's I produce, no matter the content - no more Sharpie scribbled discs.It was especially nice using a photo from a recent trip as the background for the label we used on our Photoshop slide show.The SureThing labels are great as well and very easy to order online.'Truly couldn't be happier and I'm not easily pleased.

Excellent software, does a perfect job
I've tried a few different CD label software apps, and various types of paper.SureThing gave me the best experience, though I must say that when using other papers such as CD Stomper Pro and Neato, it never seems to line up perfectly.But if you buy the SureThing brand CD labels, everything lines up perfectly, no issues.

A Lot of Money for Relatively No Capability...
I spent $90 on this software.What a waste. The program will show you if you have a dual layer DVD in it, but it won't give you the option to do dual layer writing.What is that all about?Well, I used Nero 6 to do it and it worked fine.Nero kicks Roxio's behind and always has.--Signed Disgusted and Out $90.

Great Product

Abandoned again
This product is a good value for the money.however, it is abandoned as a product and won't receive any further updates.Who wants to buy yet another dead end product which will never be repaired?Kind of like buying a car from a manufacturer who doesn't exist any more.Who in their right mind would do that?
I did not ask for AOL, I asked for a CD Labeler
This program is another of those that AOL is using to infiltrate and take over your computer. After downloading the software I found that I had also, without knowing it, loaded my computer with AOL software and Icons. What's more, there is no way to uninstall it. They tell you that you can but you can't, unless you know how to go all over your computer and hand pick all the files it adds or modifies. I find this obtrusive and offensive. If I wanted AOL I would have it - after all AOL saturates us with advertising already.

Toast with Jam
Have only started to use it but so far... I have had problems and will now have to consult their manual to see if its fixable... Operating the program intuitively and from experience from past versions, I was disappointed to see the first CD I burned which should have contained about 18 songs did NOT record several tracks.. could be my fault but I didn't do anything differently to the tracks which did record as opposed to the tracks that didn't record but did take up space on the burned CD.. back to the drawing board..

NO Customer Support and Required Registration
I bought the product from Amazon.After installing this product, I tried to install the updates only to find out that I have to register the product in order to install their bug fixes.So after typing in their long registration code, it wouldn't accept it because it said it was for Toast and not for Toast with Jam.The box had not code for Toast with Jam, only one for Toast and one for Jam.There is no technical support.No apparent way to e-mail them for technical support.If there is a way, they have hidden it very well.
The DVD Music Album alone is worth the high price...

Still has some bugs
While you can get it to do what you want most of the time it still has some bugs (GPO playback) that will irritate you. For example after scoring a piano piece and playing it back two of the notes played for an oddly short duration as though staccato. Another time in a six measure repeat the first two violin notes played back about half volume during the repeat. If I adjusted the volume up using accents or note articulations then the two notes played loudly the first time through. While these types of bugs happen relatively infrequently, when they do happen, I find the only solution is to rescore from scratch and hope they don't show up again, or to score once for print and a second time for playback.
Great Sound!
The sound quality with this is incredible!I took songs I wrote on finale 2005 (I upgraded to 2006 for $100) and put them into 2006; it sounds SO MUCH BETTER.If you listen to it through headphones, you might as well be at a live performance!It's easy to notate and print (and it looks great)!It's well worth the money.Costumer support is nice and fixed many of my simple problems (that only had to do with my ignorance).

It worked for a day
Just like everyone else wished I knew about the reviews before I purchased this product it worked for a day perfectly!! And now it doesn't even do what it was purchased what it was intended to do. And customer service is horrific for this product I have never used Roxio before and I will never again.

roxio sucks
For any people who plan to by this product, remember this, 90 % of all of Roxio's software gets embeded in the system files of the OS. As this reason is mainly the cause of lockups and not being able to access other programs while this one is running, all roxio software should be avoided. The programmers of this software mainly manfacture this for proprietary machinesi.e.. dell, gateway, compaq in which most programs are usually connected to other programs and reporting software via software patches. This is the main reason why all of these systems do not come with an OEM copy of any software like Windows or driver disks for any internal hardware componets. For a good product look to DVD X Copy, I know this program still works even though the earlier versions were less of a hassle to have and cost a whole lot less, these newer versions still offer almost the same grade of reliability. pretty darn impressive!
Many people have said that this program is not worth a penny, however, I truly disagree! Yes, it is true that it does lag and if you get frustrated with it and start clicking things it makes it worse. However, when it does have its melt downs, as long as you are pacient for a couple seconds it'll come back to you. However, make sure you save often just in case. The affects are absolutly fantastic! I have a special program for transitions though- Hollywood FX. With the program the transitions can be insanely cool. I've made lots of videos with ease. It has been so much easier to manage than I-movie. Also an easy to follow set up and its easy to learn! I am wondering though (the real reason I wondered onto this page) if any one knows how to put 4-8 different shots onto one screen as a split screen with all videos playing at the same time. Does anyone have any idea? The affect shows that it is available through the hollywood fx transitions, but I can only get it to work with two shots, even though the transition botton says it should do 4. If you have any suggestions please write it in a review. I'll be checking! Thanks! Great product though! I totally recommend it!

This software really sucks
Hi there, straight to the point, this software is not worth a penny.....takes so long, I've even upgraded my computer with more memory, and dual processor, and still this program will not budge, spend your money elsewhere....thats where I'm going....

I'd give it a no star....
While you can ah.....sorta edit....Video capture lags badly. When I say this let me also say that my machine is an Athlon64 3100+ with 512MB DDR 400, ATI 9600 128MB video (How I got the software)250gig 7200 ata 133 drive and it has done nothing but drop frames faster that it gets 'em....Yeah I have went thru all of the settings blah DMA blah defragement blah etc.... so when I transfer to DVD from VHS AND after waiting for the (Choke) render (like 3 hrs)well....jerky video on DVD is what I end up with.....Lets face it, pinnacle is crap...I am just glad that I did not have to purchase the software....Sure would like to know of somthing that actually works.... ... What did I just pay for?
I don't get this, in Plus 98 you get a whole bunch of themes and other stuff - in Plus XP you get nothing - well you get a couple of thems!I cannot believe I paid for this - I uninstalled this and returned it for store credit - this is not worth $19.99 or $12.99 it is worth $1.99 - if you want some more themes for Windows XP look around on the internet for FREE ones and save your money!

Terrific For Getting Your Old Records On Cds Or In Your iPod!
This is not the most current version of this software; but since it's probably still being sold new in places like eBay, I thought I'd still do a review. I bought this years ago to convert my records to CDs, but just ended up using it this year. I got a terrific Audio-Technica turntable for Christmas that plugs in easily to my PC.This is the software I'm using to convert the records. It is VERY easy to use, and has VERY easy instructions. The only one problem I had is that sometimes the hiss reduction feature will not be available if the software can't detect the spaces between the songs on an album, or if you are playing a 45. You then have to go back to the recording page, and record the blank area at the end of the record. And believe me, you don't want to leave out either the pop or hiss clean up! It's unbelievable how well they both clean up the record. (And I find this software far easier to use than the Nero that came with my Sony CD/DVD burner.)
Great fun at a great value
Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition is not something necessary for the enjoyment of life, but, then, neither is a computer, a cell phone, or a TV, unless you are a diehard couch potato.What this collection of utilities does is add some fun to Windows XP, and it's stuff no other operating system enjoys.I personally use Photo Story and Analog Recorder often, because they are both easy to use and a blast to use, too.The games collection could have been better, but, hey, for a little over ten bucks, why complain? ...
