Are they kidding or what?
What an incredible piece of junk Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 is. modules within are incompattible with each other. Programs crash. And EASY?Yeah easy to take your money.DON"T BUY.

what a disappointment.if you feel like spending a chunk of money on this to do basic burning tasks, feel free. if you want to convert your MCE dvr-ms files to mpeg-4(Ipod)to play on your Ipod, forget it.it will crash crash crash. error messages abound.what a waste of money. but, hey, it can rip my cd's into MP3. Easy to install and works well - satisfied consumer
I am very happy with this product.I bought it to create a DVD of a recent family vacation to share with the grandparents and to allow the kids to easily watch the video by popping in the DVD at home.
WORTHLESS !!!
I recently went on a Wash DC tour with 55 kids from my daughters' school.Bought a Sony dvd camcorder and recorded about 6 hours of the trip.My goal was to edit it down to 2 hours and give each of the kids a copy of the trip.Upon returning from the tour I went out and purchased the Sony Vegas editing program and a Sony dvd burner.Like an idiot, I assumed all the Sony components would work easily with each other.My first clue to the opposite was when the dvd burner came supplied, not with the Sony Vegas, but with a worthless start-up Nero editing program that freezes every time you attempt to record. If you read the reviews on the Nero, they rank right up there with my opinion of Sony.Why would Sony include a competitor's product instead of their own?It's because the Sony Vegas editing program is totally useless.Some of the reviews refer to the learning curve being somewhat difficult.No kidding!!!Sony Vegas is actually two programs; First, you upload all of the dvd discs onto the Vegas editing program.Then you click "make movie" and it "renders" your program onto the "Sony Architect" program (for less than 3 hours worth of video took almost 12 hours to "render"!!!) Fiddled around Architect for a couple hours just trying to get ANYTHING to burn on the Sony burner; gave up, shut down the computer.A short time later returned to Architect only to find out that the 12 hours of "rendering" had disappeared.(Yes, I had saved my work!)Everything was gone.Anyway, almost 3 weeks later have given up on trying to edit the program.Now just trying to make a copy of one of the 30-minute discs.Can't find anything in either of the manuals or "help" sections that address this.Also contains a totally useless text tutorial that freezes after the first frame.I will never buy another overrated Sony product again.ABORT!!! if thinking about buying Sony Vegas !!!

Totally Disappointed
If you are interested in being creative and having fun with your video clips, don't buy this software. This is a video-editing program that is extremely complicated, has very little pizzazz, and has proven to me to be ill-suited for a weekend/family video editor such as I.I have a ife...thank-you-very-much...and I don't have oodles and oodles of time to pour over the technical and hard to find functions of the Vegas 6.0 program.Being intuitive is clearly not it's strength.

The tech support sucks.I spent hours trimming and editing a video of my son.I went to burn it to DVD.8 tries later it still wont burn.Customer support was horrible. Their end solution was to uninstall and reinstall.I burnt the SAME .avi files with another product and it worked, NO problem.This tells me Nero sucks.I will end up buying Sony Vegas after I try the Demo.It sounds like a better product.
It's the worst I've used
I bought Nero 6 about 18 months ago and basically it has been dormant on my computer the entire time.
Okay with some things
I had tried Nero 6 for a while, and burning data and audio seemed to work. What gave me the headache was trying to make CD covers. Anytime I entered a text in the side slot (which you see when you put the CD in a rack), and then print it, and then enter another text, it changes font sizes!

I recently purchased the software above only to find it does not support my dvd drive(HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4482B (1.00)I have unsuccessfully tried to contact roxio support three times.No response.I did go through the long list of supported drives and also emailed my problem to Roxio.Needless to say, I am very disappointed and do not recommend the purchase of this software.

DVD Playback good, nice audio visualization, UPnP really bad
I downloaded the trial as I was very interested in using this with a TwonkyMedia server for my audio collection, in addition to the DVD playback. The install went well, and it played DVD's fine. I like the smooth reverse which works really well at 1x and 2x smooth reverse.
Seems like the best DVD player for the PC.
I was trying the trial version of WinDVD 7 platinum, which I downloaded from the Intervideo site. So far, WinDVD appears to be the best DVD player for the PC from the few that I've tried. More options, and a better interface.

Ordered wrong item
I wanted to order the latest Mac version of iLife. Upon receiving your Email solicitation, I automaticaqlly selected the first iLife item that appeared on Amazon's page. Unfortunately, it was for iLife '05, rather than iLife '06.Since I already had iLife'05, I had to send it back and reorder iLife '06. To Amazon, I recommend you feature the latest version of the product and list the discounted older version thereafter. To us Buyers, i've learned to be more aware and detailed in my ordering. It saves everyone a lot of pain and suffering.

This software would be over-priced if it were free
PSP Media Manager does a few things right. When it does manage to convert a video file it automatically resizes it, letterboxes it, and copies it to the right folder on your memory stick.

To Know A Truth & Not Reveal It Is Deception
I would not advise anyone to use this software. Before buying MEP 11, I tried to get a hold of their support people and ask if it was compatible with Win2K WHICH IS STILL SUPPORTED BY MICROSOFT. I could not get an answer.
No customer support
I would NOT buy this product at all.They have no product support that will efficiently help you.I have left 6 messages over the last week to 3 different locations and have not gotten a return phone call.I have written 3 emails to seperate people and have not gotten a return email.If you will require product support this is not the product to buy.

The video editing software is absolute garbage
The video editing part of this software is completely useless.It didn't come with a manual and I ended up buying on my own a book about how to use it.It hasn't made a difference.The software is completely uncooperative.My computer more than meets the minimum requirements for running the program.If you bought this software for the video editing, I recommend using the disc as a drinks coaster and buying something else.

Good features, but totally unstable
The features of the program are great, but it crashes WAY too much. My computer system is fully adequate for video editing, so that is not the problem. I've gotten to the point where I save my work literally every minute for fear that it will crash.

Solid Media Authoring Program for the Price
I bought this product based on my research of users opinions and found it has lived up to their high opinions.I have boxes of family photos as well as numerous camcorder tapes of family events.I wanted an easy comprehensive program that would let me arrange photos and video clips, add music and burn on a DVD.This program does it all and more.It may not do everything extremely well, but for the price, well enough to put out an impressive DVD.After about two hours of getting familiar with the program, I was able to create a DVD that had 35 pictures and a video clip with background music - stunning results.I played the DVD on several different brands of DVD players and had no problems.Looks great on TV.I've had no problems running the program on my computer - I'm running this on a Pentium IV 2.9 GHz, 1 gig ram and 200 GB ram HD.Since I am a beginner/weekend hobbyist, this suites my purpose of sharing pictures with family - I'm finding much better to share on DVD than paper photos.For an all-in-one package at this price, it does the job very well and I would recommend it. ... The program would (apparently) copy the DVD, but when a blank DVD was placed in the burner...NOTHING happened. The "start" button is supposed to change from gray to green, indicating that it is ready to burn on the DVD. Great Product

Wasted Days & Nights
Got this a week ago, seems to work great, but..... it won't update... because? I DON'T KNOW! What a time waster. No help for my problem in faq's or manual... the support form looks like it'll waste more HOURS just to fill out. NOT for business types, I get $350. an hour to work... nothing to fix NERO. A little know how can get alot outta this.
This program is worth its weight in gold if you just use a little know how. When I first bought it I thought the same thing as many others seem to still think, "it doesn't copy any protected dvd's!" The answer is that it does copy protected dvd's. What the program does not do is remove the copyright protection from the disc. On the other hand, you can download a free program that takes care of that for you. And it is so simple that once you install this second program (if you get the right one) then it works automaticly when ever you place a dvd in your drive. The "I Copy DVD 2" software tells you all of this during the install process so I am not sure why anyone would not know to go online and get this second software. So the program does what it says it will do, you just have to complete an extra step. As far as the quality issues? For under 50 bucks you can not expect much better. Most of the copies that I manage to make seem to suffer little to no ill effect to my eyes from the copying process. As far as that goes I would remind people of this; the program is supposed to be used to make one (1) legal back-up of any dvd that you have purchased in order to protect your original from wear. As in our case, we make copies of our movies for my daughter who does things like leave discs out on the floor, or just plain looses them. If she does any of this then we have only really lost the cost of a blank disc which is way less then the cost of the actual movie! What I believe is assumed by the manufaturer is that if people use it as intended, they can just choose to copy the actual movie and not the ENTIRE contents (special features, menus, etc.) of the DVD which will provide a much better quality copy because the software has to compress less data to fit onto a dvd disc. If a person wants to see the extra content then they can turn to their orignal dvd for this. If your intentions are to build your dvd collection by renting movies and making copies so that you don't have to pay to actually buy them then this is not for you. The technology that compression labs use to make retail dvds is very advanced and expensive and could never be packaged and sold for under 50 bucks. I gave the program only 4 stars beacause from time to time it seems to run into problems copying a movie and ruins a blank disc. Although I have no idea why this happens, it does not happen nearly enough to discourage me from recomending this to anyone.

Get off your duff and do a little reading
Nothing's perfect. I've been using the basic program over 2 years and here's what I have learned.You have to get the 3rd party help which Google will find for you.Some discs, Sony , especially and alot of the Disney stuff have so much garbage in them, that the program shuts down.There is also a hic-up from time to time where a hesitation will appear and re-appear, through out, from time to time.Out of over two hundred copies, I say I GOT MY MONEY'S WORTH.What do you expect for less than $40.00 bucks?If you can't do a little searching to help the program do its thing--- you're too dmn lazy and you don't deserve it!...CTP

Lots of Problems
I would not recommend this product. I have had many strange errors - the latest being I can no longer drag and drop to burn a CD - I get an error indicating "End License User Agreement" not agreed to. The Roxio website says this can be fixed by installingEULasp to update to latest service pack - it does not help.

Just Don't Buy This.
This product has singlehandedly destroyed both systems in my home.We have multiple hard drives, and Roxio seemed to think that it could create another partition and change our drive lettering without any warning to us at all.Nothing we can do seems to repair this, and looking for more information on this product issue reveals two things - we are not alone, and there's nothing we can do but restore our systems from backup.Do yourself a favor, skip over Roxio and find something that isn't bent on destruction.

OK, but not the best
All CD&DVD burners tend to be fairly expensive, as usually software is. Comparing this to Nero, Roxio is not quite as good. It is really easy (surprise, surprise) to use, and it looks good though.

Even if it's free it's too expensive
This would be the worst software purchase you would ever make.As far as I'm concerned it's bait and switch.The bait is a software program, the switch is a bunch of code that crashes and can't perform basic functions without locking up.I'm running a fast dual core system with 4 gig of ram.It made no difference the software was slow and crashed at every turn.
Poor Customer Service From Pinnacle
I purchased Studio 9 before then decided I'd upgrade to Version 10.After nearly completing my first production, I realized one of my transitions folders was missing (one that I had intended to use).I contacted Pinnacle Support, it is like they don't read what I am saying.I sent screen shots as well, but they continued to tell me the same thing over and over again.Telling me what to do to make the transitions work.I am pretty computer savvy, so this is not OE (operator error). After numerous emails I contacted their live chat support, where they tell me that some transitions I had in 9 will not work in 10.Funny that the other emails were telling me how to make it work and nothing about them not working.I feel like I downgraded, I spent $90 for a downgrade to something that doesn't have the same things that my previous version has.I would suggest you do not purchase this, much less anything from Pinnacle, unless you know 100% that you will never need to talk to their customer service for anything.

This program is junk. Pure and simple. It has many nice features. The trouble is they all crash your PC. I am a programmer myself and would be ashamed to release software that is this unstable - and charge for it! Too bad, it's a nice interface that is quite user friendly. Should check video and audio before burning DVD
I tried Easy Mode first, which guided me through proper hook up between PC and VCR. I only had to click "Record" button to capture and burn to DVD. It was very easy and non-techy can easily use it for sure.
Save your money
Video quality is the poorest I've ever seen. Vhs copies of copies of copies are better. No audio during capture process. Editing is too complicated especially without a manual. The burning process doesn't work at all. Tech support can't even determine what thier own error codes mean. I broke my own first rule: NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM A COMPANY WITHOUT A PHONE NUMBER. Get It from the Source Nero 6 is a wonderful product, but you need to get a legal copy of the full retail version, not an OEM CD or a CD of questionable origin. At this time (April 2006) the best place to get it is from the Ahead Software website (the makers of Nero). (You can get a retail box of Nero 7 just about anywhere, but Nero 6.6 seems to be more stable and provides all the functionality most users will need.) You can download a demo, then purchase a serial number to unlock the full product. It's a smooth, easy transaction. After many headaches I discovered that the OEM version that came with my DVD burner would allow me to capture video from my camcorder, but wouldn't let me burn them to DVDs. My choice was to either buy a CD of questionable origin (and one that is almost certifiably illegal) on eBay, purchase a DVD burning plug-in from Ahead Software for $24.99, or purchase the whole suite for $80.00. I chose the latter. Using my installed OEM version, I purchased the serial number, entered it into the product (very easy to do), then downloaded the latest updates, and I was off and running. This software produces very high quality DVDs and can burn a disk in 15 to 20 minutes using an inexpensive 16x NEC DVD burner.
