Great if you want to train Pitch Accuracy!
I am an above average singer and want to take the next step to becoming a professional and found that my pitch accuracy needed some help. Problem is that I can't always hear when I'm off pitch and have to depend on my husband to tell me - which is a pain when you're a singer. I got this program for that purpose which is to train this very important part of singing. I would definitely recommend this program if you are a beginning singer - it will help with understanding the basics and pitch accuracy. If you are an intermediate singer or expert singer this can still help you - not in improving your vocal flexibility, range or tone (I recommend Brett Manning's Singing Success CD set for that), but if you want to improve pitch accuracy.I must say in the week that I've had this, I think I've improved. Yes it is a cheesy program - with lots of cheesy animated characters but it is easy to skip this stuff if it annoys you as it does me. I just wish that we could have more interesting songs on the program - the songs that already come with the program are songs like Amazing Grace and Danny Boy - which are good but get a little boring. This gives you 12 free downloads of better songs (i.e. pop etc.) but I do wish it was 20 or something like that. Would be nice if Carry a Tune had a bigger selection of songs - like I couldn't find a single Jewel song! That's my only real gripe. I'm pretty happy with it overall...

Misleading
I was expecting much more than what I got. There are 25 songs but they're all juvenile songs. You can download some but I guess I just expected more help with pitch than what this provides. For the money, it's not worth it.

Awesome software
I picked this product up recently and I have to say it is even better than advertised. It gies you everything it says it does and more and works great. The fact that I can see my voice on the screen is amazing and in real time no less.

Very Impressed!
I had seen this product advertised on T.V. and was skeptical at first but intrigued as well. A year later, I decided that it was time to get some voice training.I've loved music all my life and have been singing all through it. Since I'm learning guitar, I figured now would be the time to step it up a notch. Unfortunely, I can't afford proper lessons so I guessed that this would be the next best thing, I didn't even know if I was a soprano, baritone, or anything. Singing Coach arrived yesterday and I've been playing with it ever since. I learned that I'm a tenor! It took a while to get the microphone settings correct, My voice wouldn't register at first and I thought that the product was faulty. If this happens to anyone else, try checking the settings for your computer's microphone, that was my problem.I love the pitch tracking! It helped me so much! You can see if your pitch is wrong and you can adjust yourself while you sing! There are tons of exercises too.You can go by note, or by scale. The songs that come with are old traditional songs like Twinkle, twinkle little star, home on the range,etc. I was kind of bummed by this at first but they definitely help with the training. The only bad thing is the selection of downloadable songs on their website.I was able to find two but other than that nothing I would want to sing. But that's me, you can check out what songs they carry on the carryatune.com website. Also after you use up your free downloads it is 3.95 per song.That's sure to add up if you get bored easily like me. All in all, a good product for the absolute beginner. It does seem like an experienced singer wouldn't get much out of it, except maybe as a supplement between classes or something like that.

Love it!
This is a really neat software program and its easy to use. I love that I can actually "see" how I am singing right there on the computer screen. It's nice to be able to look at my saved recording and see exactly where I was too high or too low. When I make the changes, my score improves. Awesome!
This is so much fun for the whole family! It has wonderful music and is well done! They did a better job than Dance Dance Revolution!! I love my kids being able to dance to Christian music.It is great exercise, too, while you're having fun.

So Much Variety
This product is so good. I love it! I can make my own MP3's, make disk copies and archive data files.

Roxio CD & DVD Burning Software
I recently purchased the software above only to find it does not support my dvd drive(HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC-4482B (1.00)I have unsuccessfully tried to contact roxio support three times.No response.I did go through the long list of supported drives and also emailed my problem to Roxio.Needless to say, I am very disappointed and do not recommend the purchase of this software.

This software would be over-priced if it were free
PSP Media Manager does a few things right. When it does manage to convert a video file it automatically resizes it, letterboxes it, and copies it to the right folder on your memory stick.

this isnt the best ejay
this product runs the slowest out of all of them.I tried to run it on my laptop but it would just lag to much.so then I decided to run it on my newest computer, just got it in 2006 and it is designed for gaming but it was still to slow.The software is to advanced for what you are really here for.It focuses on to many things other than making music.Although it is a little more advanced than the other ones but the beatz are kinda soft.They could have made it a little harder.But over all i recamend hip hop ejay 5.Probably the most advanced but simplest to use and good sound quality out of all of them.

Great Looping Software
I've been using ejay hip hop software since version 1 and almost quit using it after all the bugs in hip hop 5. But it's all fixed in hip hop 6. There are some drawbacks, you really have to read the help files as they have overly complicated things in hip hop 6. They took away the ability to just use your mouse and drag to the sample down to a smaller size, instead you have to either open the clip editor and use the silence shortcuts on your keyboard or open up the "volume curve control" and draw out the undesired piece. This feature can be a benefit though, you can draw out pieces in the middle of a sample while keeping end pieces. The included samples are decent, and most of the other features work pretty nice too. I give it four stars for overcomplicating things, other than that, great software.

My son loves it!!
I picked this up for my twelve year old son.He is a beginner and has been glued to his electric guitar and eMedia Rock Guitar Method for the last two weeks.The program is a great starter, just in case the kids don't stick with it. It's better than $45 bucks an hour once a week, for now, at least.

I found this product to just be ok.I wish for a e=media that i could use to slow down songs that I have not just what is on their program.All in all it is an ok program though.

its a basic
70.00 us for a program that has midi support and virtual voices. it's a starting program its good but it isn't supported by a lot of other people. There need to be more third party modules before it can really be embraced as a serious tool.

At school, my son enjoys the benefit of some sophisticated Acid Pro software that we can't afford to buy for home use. But this Acid Music Studio 6.0 is the next best thing--albeit costing more than $300 less.

Great software, but make sure this is what you need.
I purchased this software about 2 weeks ago, and I have to say that it is far superior to any other product in its price range.I will admit that it's not nearly as intuitive as they say it is, but the learning curve (to me) isn't that steep.I say that with some reservations, because I went to school for media production and probably have a little better knowledge base to work from than the average beginner.To make matters more difficult, Cakewalk products have (from my experience) always had very poorly written manuals.With Music Creator, they seem to have made an effort to improve in that area.It's the first Cakewalk manual I've seen that actually has screenshots of whatever the particular topic is.Thank heaven for small favors.
Newbie Beware
If you are new to creating music on computer, and just want to delve lightly into the process, stay far away from any software developed by this company. Newbies beware - never venture here!I am not, nor will I ever be, a high-end user like the other reviewers. I produce multimedia not music. I just need straightforward tools to create music for presentations (so I can quit buying readymade music/MIDI clips). Unfortunately (?), I used my child's MAC and Garage Band before using Cakewalk. I was tainted by instructions that made sense, an intuitive software interface, and music actually coming out of the computer.

interesting, but didn't hold their attention
My two boys (8 and 6 years old) both really loved this program when we first installed it and couldn't get enough of it.The interface is easy to use and the screen is bright and colorful.The problem was that it just didn't hold their interest.After a few days of playing around with it, they got bored.You can only create very simple compositions and the novelty factor quickly wore off.It's not a bad buy for the money (the "real" composer software is much more expensive), but it just didn't have the long term "playability" of what I would consider a good software program.

An old favorite remains the best of its kind!
As a third grade teacher, I had this product in my classroom for years, until one day it inevitably got lost.I have been looking for a new copy for a while, and was glad to find it available on Amazon.It is, in my opinion, the best program of its type.The concept is very easy, children paint in a KID PIX type of format onto a white board, and that painting is then translated into music.If you draw at the top of the screen you will have a high note, at the bottom a low note.The longer you draw the same pitch horizontally the longer the note will be held.The simplicity makes it accessible to kids as young as kindergarten, but there's lots of features that make it riveting for older kids and adults as well.You have a wide variety of instrument to "draw" your music with, and there are lots of options that allow kids to experience their compositions in different ways.Hear your opus backwards or learn what it sounds like if it were flipped upside down.This is a program that people of all ages will enjoy (it was one of everyone's favorites on parent night).Sometimes simpler really is superior, and this program is a perfect example. ... Works fine under Mac and Windows after Firmware Upgrade
This review is about the USB Midi connector that it comes with.At first it didn't work with my Yamama PSR-350 keyboard.Signals from the keyboard were not received by the computer.But I downloaded a firmware upgrade from the Turtle Beach website, and then everything worked fine.I haven't tried the software yet.

Good, but was painful setup process
I wanted a usb midi cable, since my new machine doesn't have a game port and I had been using a gameport midi cable to connect my sythesizer to my computer.This piano kit seemed to fit the bill. And, I liked that for about the cost of a cable I get the piano instruction software for my son basically included.

Son loves it.
