5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent !
Product came in a timely manner and I love it. Easy to use and fun too.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money
This is the first time I have ever reviewed a product and I do it so that no one else will waste their money on this.It adds virtually nothing to XP.Too bad they didn't make it as interesting as their packaged media edition. That would have been worth the money, but old Bill who doesn't want to be the richest man in the world would rather you spend money on a new PC to get that product. The themes are nice but far too few for the price. The games are a gimmick since you have to pay to play the real things. The DJ is dumb and the dancers are cute but after a while boring.Hard to figure out how to use the music converter and photo stuff.Too bad could have been something but in its present form, not worth the money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the hassle
I purchased this software thinking that I could take my digital images, create a slide show with music, and then burn it to dvd for the family to watch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly as promised
Given all the negative reviews, I had to chime in.This software did exactly what it said, and what I wanted it to do...which was to allow me to transfer my music both to and from my ipod.Nothing more, nothing less.Granted, I'm not a computer whiz, but I actually have a job and wasn't able to spend any more than 30 minutes (to no avail) fiddling with free downloads or shareware before the $19.95 for 'tune transfer' was imminently worth very penny. If you can find something better / cheaper, then get it.That has no bearing on the performance of this software, which is just fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Powerful but Difficult to Learn
This application is capable of producing sheet music of publishable quality and playing it back, including named chords, but can be frustratingly difficult to learn. Little about it seems intuitive or works the way one would think: many of the operations require you to remember special keyboard-mouse combinations or perform unusual actions such as double-clicking and holding down the mouse button on the second click or selecting the same menu option twice. Unfortunately there is no searchable online help - only a PDF user manual with a table of contents and a 'How Do I' section. The manual does contain links to other sections but there is no index and no way to return to the table of contents easily. There is a searchable Windows help file included but it does not appear to contain much information. Having said that, once you have learned the basics and familiarized yourself with its many quirks, the program is quite powerful. It also allows you to create templates for particular instrument configurations and start from a template when beginning a new piece. I have not tried the scanning, MIDI or microphone-entry features. You should know that you must register the software with the vendor online or by phone within 30 days of installing it, and that the registration process requires you to furnish personal information about yourself such as your name and email or mailing address. In addition, the numeric key which is returned to you at the time of registration works only on the computer on which you installed the software. According to the manual, if you change any of the hardware on your computer the software may no longer work and you will have to repeat the registration process.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not nearly as good as the (much cheaper) competition.Avoid!
I saw this software in a Mac store and based upon the features listed on the box, I bought it. The limitations for this version of the software are extreme:you can't make your own chord diagrams, you can't score more than a few instruments and play it back (there's apparently a limit of MIDI channels allowed) - getting around both of these problems require the most expensive version of the product --- and the "upgrade" cost is $400! The manuals aren't particularly helpful, either.

1-0 out of 5 stars Buggy, confusing, ill-considered
I have had trouble and no satisfaction with this product.
5-0 out of 5 stars I Keep Coming Back
I came across Magix Audio Cleaning Lab about 4 years ago.Once I got the hang of it, I really liked it.However, I kept wondering if there were better programs out there.I mean, really, how good can it be for $39, right?I recently paid $75 for Sony's famed Sound Forge Studio (which is the Sound Forge program minus various some features).I spent a lot of time with Sound Forge Studio, working to perfect my transfer of some private music recordings from cassette to CD.I was happy with what I was able to accomplish with Sound Forge. At least I thought I was happy.I compared my work in Sound Forge Studio to the same cassette transfer I did with Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 10 (the previous iteration of this software).Guess what?I liked the Magix work much better. So, I immediately purchased Audio Cleaning Lab 11 and unintalled Sony's Sound Forge Studeio from my computer.Magix could charge $150 for this software and I would buy it in a second.Your going to have to take the time to carefully read through the full manual to get the most out of this software - but it is worth the effort.
5-0 out of 5 stars MP3 Issue Resolved
The main reason for negative reviews in the past was the extra charge for the MP3 encoder. With this version, the MP3 encoder is included. Magix has been pretty clever in designing an interface that can used quickly yet has several more advanced features you can use as you become more proficient. These include a full featured waveform editor and a very powerful sonagram (spectral) editor. Also, somewhat hidden is the ability to record 78rpm records on a 33 1/3 turntable. If you use the full set of features almost any record can be made totally free of pops and clicks. I have two very minor negatives; the amplitude scale on the track display is somewhat truncated, the declicker has so few artifactsthat I recommend always using it at the maximum setting (as opposed to the wizard and manual recommendations.) As far as PC requirements, I believe any program that does a lot of number crunching needs a fairly up-to-date processor. This one particularly so because it leaves the original audio files intact. I don't believe this is a negative as in some prior reviews. In short, I have been totally satisfied with this program's ability to make clean transfers of both 78rpm and 33 1/3 rpm records.

5-0 out of 5 stars Sound Forge is VERY powerful
For those of you that have used WAV editors this product may or may not be great. For those of you who are starting out with WAV editing I don't know of an easier product out there. I had problems editing (splices) of takes until now. The marker feature for labeling the parts to be removed or attached together is great. The CD Architect protion is a pain to use compared with Nero or CD Creator. I would't bother loading it. I have not tried the Noise Reduction yet. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Easy to use with impressive resullts
I have used Pinnacle Studio since version 8.0.I have upgraded along the way and am very impressed with the latest edition.Studio has improved with each release and I am very pleased with the basic content as well as the available upgrades. The user interface is very intuitive and the sw is very stable.
1-0 out of 5 stars Install hangs up
I bought this version of Studio to update my video editing capabilities.I haven't been able to complete the install yet.I have an e-mail in to support but they only work certain hours.Further, when I get to the point where I get a failure, cleaning up and starting over is virtually impossible due to some files being impossible to delete. And, the product never appears in the Add/Remove function of the control panel.Further comments will be tempered by how well the support folks address my problem.

1-0 out of 5 stars WINDOWS XP ONLY
I wanted to make sure people who look at this product have a full understanding that Adobe Audition 2.0 WILL NOT install on a Windows 2000 Pro or Server operating system. Almost EVERY reference I have seen regarding OS requirements say Windows but not specifically Windows XP. The only exceptions have been on the Audition box itself and this Amazon listing (go Amazon). So if you are a Windows 2000 user understand that you will need XP for this product. If you can find a copy of Audition 1.5 you're good to go.
5-0 out of 5 stars The Single Greatest Software for EVP Editing
I think that any paranormal investigators that deal with EVP's (Electronic Voice Phenomenon" can agree that this is probably the most important program that you can own. This is used to apply noise reduction, loop, slow-down, normalize, etc. when editing an EVP. Adobe if you are reading this review please oh god please someday release this product for the Mac. A great and certainly very powerful program!

1-0 out of 5 stars Adobe Jumps the Shark
Adobe Audition is my favorite program. I use it more than any other program I have on my computer. I have used it to restore thousands of old phonograph discs. I am only giving them one star because I can't give them no stars for this joke.

After I purchased the software directly from Voyetra, I soon became aware that Record Producer Deluxe has several significantly limiting flaws for anyone other than a casual hobbyist:
4-0 out of 5 stars My Review of Record Producer deluxe
I agree with much of what K. Wagner of Rosslyn VA wrote.4-0 out of 5 stars good product for the price
I bought this program to do midi sequencing and audio recording for guitar and voice. Overall I think it's a really good program for doing standard musical recording tasks on an intel-based system (on a Mac I'd expect more and pay more too). It's totally replaced my 4-track cassette recorder system since Record Producer also records midi. I'd used MOTU's FreeStyle and Digital Performer before (for college coursework), so I wanted something that would work kind of like these programs but didn't cost so much. Record Producer doesn't have the same slick setup for midi instruments that FreeStyle has - doesn't recognize my Alesis QS6.1 banks - but you can still access all the banks.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best In The Series For Loops And Sounds So Far...
This ejay is better than the rest of em so far because the sounds in this one are good acual pianos an other instuments in the 6th one they are all tecno sounding and the bass and poly makers all sound like tecno the 4th one tho you cant make bass sounds an such but like i said better sounds for making beats that are dark and grim and some for making just good beats

4-0 out of 5 stars Highly Superior!
This installment of the Hip Hop Ejay series is amazing. It's real easy to use and you can create some amazing beats! It's also saved me a LOAD of money on getting producers to make my beats, as well as saved me money on studio time! If you're trying to branch out and make your own album and beats, this is a MUST have. I've been COMPLETELY satisfied with it. It's a great piece of production software, and it beats the hell out of the Magix Music maker series! There's a wide variety of sounds, loops, keys, guitars, drums, base, etc. The only reason I didn't give this review a perfect 5-star rating was because I wished they would've included more strings, and more elements for Latin-style rap rhythms. Other than that, I don't see anything wrong with it. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the small price
This came with a microphone which fell apart in the box. Bad start. But I suppose you get what you pay for. The interface is clumsy and the sound quality was poor. It does have a couple of nice tools built in, like a tempo varying slider which is very handy and studio effects like echo and reverb. But you might be better off spending more money for a sound studio program.

1-0 out of 5 stars My Voice is a waste of money...
I purchased My Voice software thinking, "They have finally made this technology available at an affordable price".Not so, there are two things you should know about about this product. One, it is very easy to use, you just click on the play button for a song and click on the voice extracter icon (the hand with the microphone). Two, when you click on the hand with the microphone, all you get is your song (voice and all) with the sound turned way down and slightly muffled. The bottom line is, this product does not work.I was extremly disappointed, however, since I did not pay that much for the item I was not livid!I gave it one star, instead of zero, because the product will play your CDs and it will find the names of the songs on your CDs.

3-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but limited
The feature list sounds awesome, but there is a catch: the software often mistakes certain musical sounds for vocals, in some cases suppressing some of the most prized elements of the recording.

Editorial Review

Microsoft typically supplements its operating systems with a retail grab bag of utilities and entertainment-oriented applications called Microsoft Plus. For Windows XP, it has released not one but two such packages. The latest, Microsoft Plus Digital Media Edition, sports nearly a dozen perks, toys and tools for those who use their PC as a multimedia companion. Though some will find the program packs its fair share of incidental "fluff", anyone into photos, video or music will undoubtedly find several components both useful and enjoyable.Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars What did I just pay for?
I don't get this, in Plus 98 you get a whole bunch of themes and other stuff - in Plus XP you get nothing - well you get a couple of thems!I cannot believe I paid for this - I uninstalled this and returned it for store credit - this is not worth $19.99 or $12.99 it is worth $1.99 - if you want some more themes for Windows XP look around on the internet for FREE ones and save your money!

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific For Getting Your Old Records On Cds Or In Your iPod!
This is not the most current version of this software; but since it's probably still being sold new in places like eBay, I thought I'd still do a review. I bought this years ago to convert my records to CDs, but just ended up using it this year. I got a terrific Audio-Technica turntable for Christmas that plugs in easily to my PC.This is the software I'm using to convert the records. It is VERY easy to use, and has VERY easy instructions. The only one problem I had is that sometimes the hiss reduction feature will not be available if the software can't detect the spaces between the songs on an album, or if you are playing a 45. You then have to go back to the recording page, and record the blank area at the end of the record. And believe me, you don't want to leave out either the pop or hiss clean up! It's unbelievable how well they both clean up the record. (And I find this software far easier to use than the Nero that came with my Sony CD/DVD burner.)
5-0 out of 5 stars Great fun at a great value
Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition is not something necessary for the enjoyment of life, but, then, neither is a computer, a cell phone, or a TV, unless you are a diehard couch potato. What this collection of utilities does is add some fun to Windows XP, and it's stuff no other operating system enjoys.I personally use Photo Story and Analog Recorder often, because they are both easy to use and a blast to use, too.The games collection could have been better, but, hey, for a little over ten bucks, why complain? ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Toast with Jam
Have only started to use it but so far... I have had problems and will now have to consult their manual to see if its fixable... Operating the program intuitively and from experience from past versions, I was disappointed to see the first CD I burned which should have contained about 18 songs did NOT record several tracks.. could be my fault but I didn't do anything differently to the tracks which did record as opposed to the tracks that didn't record but did take up space on the burned CD.. back to the drawing board..

1-0 out of 5 stars NO Customer Support and Required Registration
I bought the product from Amazon. After installing this product, I tried to install the updates only to find out that I have to register the product in order to install their bug fixes. So after typing in their long registration code, it wouldn't accept it because it said it was for Toast and not for Toast with Jam.The box had not code for Toast with Jam, only one for Toast and one for Jam.There is no technical support. No apparent way to e-mail them for technical support. If there is a way, they have hidden it very well.
4-0 out of 5 stars The DVD Music Album alone is worth the high price...
The DVD Music Album feature has allowed me to start consolidating all of my live recordings onto DVDs.I've burned two so far, one with 8 CDs and one with about a dozen or so CDs.The only reason I did not give the full five stars is that I've had two DVDs "coastered" during a failed burn. When it comes to burning audio, TwJ is far superior to iTunes. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Underwhelmed
When I received my iBook 12", I was extremely excited to bust out the iLife applications. I had heard a lot about them, and played around with them at Apple Retail Stores.
3-0 out of 5 stars Garageband NOT unique to Apple.
Just to counter what one person said about "nothing comes close" on the PC. Garageband is simply Apple's version of Sonic Foundry's ACID, now owned by Sony, and you can download [...]
4-0 out of 5 stars Not perfect but better than anything else
I have been a Mac User for almost 20 years and I have to say that this package is one of Apple's greatest achievements. To take so many different components (the one thing in common is the digital footprint of all the media involved) and make them work together so well.

3-0 out of 5 stars Still has some bugs
While you can get it to do what you want most of the time it still has some bugs (GPO playback) that will irritate you. For example after scoring a piano piece and playing it back two of the notes played for an oddly short duration as though staccato. Another time in a six measure repeat the first two violin notes played back about half volume during the repeat. If I adjusted the volume up using accents or note articulations then the two notes played loudly the first time through. While these types of bugs happen relatively infrequently, when they do happen, I find the only solution is to rescore from scratch and hope they don't show up again, or to score once for print and a second time for playback.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Sound!
The sound quality with this is incredible!I took songs I wrote on finale 2005 (I upgraded to 2006 for $100) and put them into 2006; it sounds SO MUCH BETTER.If you listen to it through headphones, you might as well be at a live performance! It's easy to notate and print (and it looks great)! It's well worth the money.Costumer support is nice and fixed many of my simple problems (that only had to do with my ignorance).

5-0 out of 5 stars Finale is What? AWESOME!!!!
This is the absolute best music notation software out there--don't let the price scare you, it's worth every penny. It make beautiful and professional(this is what BIG music companies use--Hal Lenoard, Warner Bros. to name a couple)sheet music. Every musician, whether you're a teacher, student, or even a musician for a church or religious organization. You can do your own arrangements of music to FIT YOUR GROUP! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars This product deserves negative stars!!!
Wow, did I get burned. I had a good experience with Magix's Audio Cleaning Lab, so I just assumed this product would be good-- not bothering to check out the reviews here in advance. I bought it at Best Buy this afternoon and threw it in the trash this evening! I have also been burned by the Sony Sound Forge $70 version (worthless) and the CakeWalk Pyro software. $30 down the drain... ouch!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't even consider buying this!!!
Not that any more negative reviews of the product are really needed, but this product is a disaster at best. The only real feature that I could get to work was the radio stations.I bought it to do some voice recordings.I worked for 3 hours trying to get the recording to save to no avail. It is difficult to use and I am not even sure that half of the "features" actually do work.I am going to try and return mine to Best Buy tomorrow and cross my fingers that I can at least get a store credit:-)

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
A Microcenter employee recommended this product and it was a horrible experience. After struggling with it for hours I finally went on the web to find help and found these other reviews.Everything they say is true. The manual and tutorials are wastes of time. It's too late for me, but before you buy anything try Audacity, a free music editor and recording software -- shareware. It's everything that MPe Maker isn't. ...
