5-0 out of 5 stars Still the best program for web site building
2003 frontpage is still the best and easiest to set up your own web site

4-0 out of 5 stars Microsoft Office Front Page 2003
Front Page 2003 is much improved over MSFrontPage 2000. However, there is a learning curve I have not mastered after working to develop a complete new website. Depending on the site background, editing tags with dark colors are illegible.
5-0 out of 5 stars FrontPage 2003 is easy to use and a good investment.
I want something that is user friendly and still packed with a lot of useful features.FrontPage 2003 fits the requirements that I want and it is available at an excellent price!

Editorial Review

Convergence seems to be the watchword for the Microsoft FrontPage 2002Web authoring system. Every new edition becomes a bit more like the othercomponents of the Office suite, while also increasingly tying in to relatedMicrosoft products and services. This is vaguely threatening to users who wantgreater freedom to edit HTML and other code directly or who want to call all theshots on their sites' designs, but for most users the expediency of FrontPagemakes these sacrifices worthwhile or even unnoticeable. 1-0 out of 5 stars Better off with ground meat... literally...
I started off with FrontPage 97... and gradually worked up to FrontPage 2002.I used to think FrontPage was a godsend, boy was I wrong.Things only work if using MS Internet Explorer for a browser, or just plain doesn't work if your ISP doesn't support it's extensions.
4-0 out of 5 stars Front Page put me in the web business
I read some of these reviews and I must say that 2002 is so deep I think I feel into a hole.As far as the software being difficult, I spent considerable time in the library with some great books.I also bought some books, visual being the best and worked with the software.I took my first order for a web site while I was still learning and let me tell you forms just beat the living hell out of me.What I did was to look at some of the preformed pages of front page and looked at the html andlearned how to use tables with forms and learned even more.
1-0 out of 5 stars This software does not work
Quite simply this software does not work, and I've been using other versions of FrontPage since it first came out--check out the Microsoft web site--they have loads of 'fixes' for this software.None of the web component functions work, and neither does shared borders.I can't imagine that they would continue to sell this. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars It always helps to know the basics
Despite the accusation of "suspect reviews" there are some of us out here who get along just fine with Namo. I'm an author who does my own web page as well as the web page for my skating club, and I paid real money for Namo 4.0 and its subsequent versions. I'm by no means a professional web-page designer, but for these personal projects, Namo has been a great asset.
1-0 out of 5 stars MINUS 10 STARS MIGHT RATE THIS ONE
BIG SIGH. Bought Namo WebEditor6 just 2 days ago. Seemed to run fine. Then voila. Problem after problem. Too many to list and so frustrated now I just want to chuck it. This thing crash and burns more than Zeros in TORA! TORA! TORA! Words won't wrap or just the opposite. Theyruntogetherlikethis. The java buttons tend to replace eachother so your links are all messed up. A waste of money...and FrontPage is wayyy too expensive. So, I thought I'd try NAMO. How messed up could it be? I thought. Well, I'll tell ya that you don't want to know. Save your money. Even the manuals print is kind of shoddy. This thing is a POS. Nice box though.

1-0 out of 5 stars disappointing-a mistake
Unfortunately, I purchased this program because of Adobe's reputation. Maybe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat are great programs, but adobe has really struck out with golive.it has a clunky interface. the ftp browser hangs on me everytime I upload.4-0 out of 5 stars A great web application for designers
If you love photoshop, illustrator, InDesign... you should use GoLive for your webs. Some will say this application is difficult to learn and overburdened with adobe-style tool palettes, and this is fair criticism. If you are a photoshop user and have spent the many hours and weeks it takes to become proficient at using Adobe's GUI, then move to GoLive and you will quickly find yourself at home.1-0 out of 5 stars A VERY UN-intuitiveproduct!!
THis is the worst of the lot. I had used Adobe's PageMill to make tons of websites but now that I've upgraded everything to OSX on my computer, I thought it would be a good idea to do that with my web design program.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars VERY POWERFUL IF YOU KNOW HOW!!
A lot of people have blasted this software, saying that it's a kid's toy and you can't actually do anything with it.One person even said it's easier to code in html. All these people, in my opinon, have a hate complex about Microsoft, and refuse to actually dip into the program and see it's powers, that you won't find until you spend more than 5 looking at it [and giving off].4-0 out of 5 stars Great if you want to get a site up and running quickly
I was able to get a functional website up and running in an afternoon with Frontpage -- it is very intuitive and easy to use.It is even useful if you subsequently graduate to more complex software, like Dreamweaver, because you can establish the basic site with Frontpage and then edit the HTML with Dreamweaver to add further bells and whistles. No regrets at all, with this purchase.

4-0 out of 5 stars Microsoft FrontPage 2000
Microsoft FrontPage 2000 is a fantastic webpage creator/HTML editor. Before purchasing my copy of FrontPage 2000, I was using Adobe GoLive 5. What I especially liked about FrontPage 2000 was the ease of use. If you have ever used a Microsoft Office product before, you can learn FrontPage with relative ease. FrontPage brings templates (such as online forms) to you, which other products do not. There is a downside for FrontPage, and that is for some of the more advanced features the host server will need to have FrontPage extensions installed on it. You should check this with your host before purchasing. This is becoming less of a problem, however, because more and more hosts are installing these extensions. If you don't mind moving your site, you could always move it to a host with these extensions anyway. This is one product, I would highly recommend. ... Read more

Dreamweaver and Fireworks are all you need to build great-looking sites. Create your Web graphics in Fireworks and then integrate them seamlessly into the Web pages you built with Dreamweaver. In Dreamweaver, Roundtrip HTML gives you total control over code. In Fireworks, professional vector and bit-map editing tools let you produce comps and modify files from any graphics source and edit anything, anytime. Together, Dreamweaver and Fireworks reduce production time with tight integration, and History Palettes helps automate repetitive tasks. In addition, the ability to customize both applications using HTML, JavaScript, or XML gives you the power you need for fast-paced Web development. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars I like the programs, but I think it needs improvement.
I bought this package based on a friend's recommendation. Looking back I wish I had saved the money and just bought Dreamweaver. I think they are both great programs, but from my experience you need only need one. If youown Illustrator or Photoshop you can build your graphics there and importthem into Dreamweaver. If you don't just buy Fireworks, you can build anentire site and all your graphics in this program.4-0 out of 5 stars A great program, documentation could be better
A complete novice in web design, I just spent 4 days developing an 8 page web site with Dreamweaver, which I had never used before. The web site's great, and I love the program. An excellent tutorial guides you throughthe basic steps, and Macromedia provides a 400+page downloadable referencemanual. A bit bulky, and difficult to find what I needed, but the programitself is pretty intuitive, once you've worked through the tutorial.Istill haven't figured out how to upload my HTML files using Dreamweaver (asfar as I can tell, you're supposed to be able to), which is why I rate thisonly a 4; otherwise, from uploading graphics and text to layout and links,a user friendly program that will have you on the www in no time at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars Dreamweaver is a dream come true!
Dreamweaver is well beyond its opponets in web-design, and anybody who designs web pages should have this program! Packing every single tool you would need or ever want to make your website the way you want it,Dreamweaver is easy from the start. Although I'm not an actual owner ofDreamweaver, I have friends who own this product, and every one of them hasbeen blown away bit it, including me. This program is easy to use, and forthose who are still using old programs like "Visual Page", Isuggest that you upgrade to this program, which you will never regret. Manypeople still stick with the old fashioned way of making mouse-overs, butDreamweaver makes it easy, and this can be done in under a minute, withouthaving to spend hours on Java coding. I personally like this program muchmore then Adobe "GoLive", which are the two leading web-designprograms. Make your choice, but I think Dreamweaver is the true programthat will make every website look incredible. It's worth the price tag, every cent! The day will come soon when I hope to have the priviledge ofowning this program myself. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Freeway gets you on the web fast!
I searched high and low on the internet to find Mac OSX software to develop my website, and am I glad I found Freeway!I had first tried using Adobe GoLive. What a headache!I slogged through their incomprehensible manual and I couldn't even figure out how to set up a new file. And I even had a 16-year-old computer whiz helping me!Dumped that program off my computer fast!
5-0 out of 5 stars Freeway Rocks!
Freeway 3.5 is super great! I'm an artist who was tired of pestering my web designer to update my site...and got tired of paying for it too...I have a decent design sense, so I did some research and found Freeway. I now do the website for the architectural firm I work at too. It really is super intuitive! There were a few bumps along the way...but overall I'm thrilled. Email the company that writes the program softpress.com to see if they have any online user group coupons to get the program cheaper! : ) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Undeserved bad wrap on reviews
I think these people are either being totally unfair or just dont know how to use this software. I purchased this back at version 4.0 and i honestly think it blows frontpage and many other editors out of the water. This software handle's tables like a champ, the best i've ever seen. i admit i was a bit taken back by the software when i first started using it, but give yourself time to actually learn how to use it and you'll see it's an EXELLENT tool. For the person that stated "everytime I placed another object on the screen everything else shifted"... yeah, thats going to happen with any html editor unless you USE tables. It can't be avoided. Again... take the time to learn how to use this software and it will be your best friend!

2-0 out of 5 stars WYSIWYG is not what you'd expect
I tried this product and luckily I was able to return it. When I first ran this program I must have stared at the screen for five minutes trying to figure out what to do first - not very intuitive in my opinion.4-0 out of 5 stars Web Page Construction Kit 6.0 is excellent
I am an experienced author and well acquainted with publishing on paper. I found on producing my own website with no previous knowledge of HTML that this programme served extremely well for the type of site I needed, mainly text orientated, easily upgraded and edited, with a swift built-in ftp and very few problems. I found it relatively easy to fit in images. The manual had all the usual problems of manuals written by writers from the IT world and lacked an accurate structure but with patience and an expectation of not everything being obvious at first glance, I soon became accustomed to it. I did not require advanced animations etc so cannot estimate how good it might be for these but I rate it as the best of the web builders for beginners I have seen, far better than Microsoft's "front page".I have not yet seen version 7.0 but hope to buy it when it is available here in the U.K. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Scary at first, but satisfied in the end
The first time I attempted to use this program, I was frightened. It was very confusing with so many windows and buttons (I was quite a novice at the time). After importing a site to it the I had written with ascii and using the help program that came along with it, it made sense to me. I really enjoy it now, and in only a few weeks I feel I have quite a firm grasp on web design. My only other complaint is its crashing problem. It crashes when I try to save sites and corrupts my site files (both the main and backup files) when I try to use the inspector.
1-0 out of 5 stars Crash much?
Although this application is filled with handy layout tools, you'll never get far into a development session without crashing. The magic crash key combination (maybe it's an Easter egg?!) is CTRL-1, which is supposed to bring up the Investigator window (essentially element properties). For me, it crashes the program about half the time (no exaggeration).Other things like simply typing in a table cell cause crashes as well.Skip this albatross and pick up a copy of Dreamweaver.

1-0 out of 5 stars Learning Organic Chemistry While Drunk Would Be Easier
I am 3/4 the way through the Classroom in a Book on Adobe GoLive CS.To say that the workbook and the software is NOT user-friendly is a gross understatement. It's probably easier to read a 1,000page book on HTML, JAVA, etc. programming that slog through this software. And I haven't even installed it.Complexity does not imply sophistication, at least not in this situation. This is Rube Golberg at its worst.WIth hundreds of pop up windows and subwindows, none of it intuitive, one suspects that the company geeks had fun creating this darling of theirs without considering the consumer. Get Macromedia Dreamweaver 4. They have turned this once great web design package into a hybrid cross of something that looks like Netscape/Flash and called it Dreamweaver MX 2004.5-0 out of 5 stars Review for Dreamweaver 5
-This review is for Dreamweaver 5- I absolutely love this software. I had Adobe Go Live but I never seemed to take to it like I did with Dreamweaver. Once it was installed within a day, I had made several webpages. As I continued to use it I learned more and more intuitively without needing much guidance from the manual. As a user you can create your webpages visually or in code mode, this makes it a great option for anyone no matter what your skill - it can be adjusted to suit your needs. You can learn and develop your webpage skills as much or as little as you like. You do not need to be intimidated by it's high price. You can learn it and the cost is well worth the output. ...5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT

5-0 out of 5 stars Great WYSIWYG web builder program.
I started my web page (...) using an online page builder. A good way to start, but not very creative. I then moved up to Adobe PageMill which gave me even more opportunity to design the look I wanted. When I decided on Dreamweaver, it was out of a desire to make my page look even better, and work across platforms. It does the trick.1-0 out of 5 stars Bugs, bugs, wonderful bugs...
Dreamweaver is the most horrid, repulsive web design software ever written for the Mac. I am warning you, fellow Mac users. Macromedia must have bought a can of ladybugs and dropped them in the beta tester's brains-Ican't believe that they missed some very important bugs-the site mapdoesn't work, and there is no cross-platform compatibility. Do not buythis. Please look into GoLive by Adobe.

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly improved, powerful with the new Web Workgroup Server!!
I stepped over GoLive a few years back, don't remember which version, but didn't get into it then.5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent time to switch from FrontPage
I've been a dyed-in-the-wool FrontPage fan for the past few years. I bought GoLive 5.0 thinking I'd make the switch to a product that's a bit more os, platform, agnostic. While that was the case with GoLive 5.0, I found it to be too cluttered and difficult to "pick up", so I stuck with FrontPage. The upgrade to 6.0 is truely a wonderful thing for those of us using FrontPage who are looking to migrate to another tool for web dev. GoLive 6.0 is now much more organized and easier to understand for those used to working in a FrontPage environment. I'd definately recommend giving it a try. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars New horizon
The CS series offers a great new horizon for Adobe products on OS X.As a designer at an extremely busy design agency, we have found the CS series to be a huge improvement.InDesign is proving to be the victor in the war with Quark. The massive diversity and ease of use of this program is paramount to cross media integration (print to web). These versions of Photoshop and Illustrator are simply the best. The usability of GoLive needs some tweaking, I much prefer Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX 2004.But all in all, hats off to Adobe!
